  We stopped in mid day on a Saturday when not much was happenin'..heard about this place so we had to check it out. If you have an appreciation for dive bars, you'll love it-if not you probably cant take a place like this-cats eatin dinner on the bar, stuff EVERYWHERE but it is something to see..cold beer, bartender was nice, it appeared they had a steady of locals. I wouldnt eat here when they do serve food..lol..but its worth going to because it is TRULY a dive bar..somebody stole the bird, but they have a pretty large Iguana in a cage and the amount of crap on the wall/ceilings is SOMETHING to see haha...it was fun stopping in for one and to just see what all the fuss is about..different, for sure!

  Wow, what an experience... This for sure is a Dive bar, and if you like Dive Bars, DO NOT MISS THIS Place, there are cats on the bar hanging out, people can bring in their pets, there is an iguana in the back, bras on the ceiling, scattered with dollar bills, you can write your name anywhere you see fit!!  The locals by far make you feel like you have been in there all your life.  The live band on a Sunday evening was fabulous, met amazing people.  They have their beers in coolers, so don't expect anything fancy.  On Sunday night the owner takes it upon himself and orders pizza for the entire bar (free may I add) as well as pasta salad!!!  What a place... This will become my stomping ground when I am in town!! Love it!!

  Here was my quick tip: Just heard this quote at Mahuffers: "This places gets better and better each time I come!" It is Sunday afternoon and my first time, I am coming back.
  
  Now onto the full review, where to start?!?!?
  
  The roof almost touches your head. Lots of rustic pirate, fishing, and sailing decor. Right across the street from the beach. Only stopped in with a friend of mine for a beer. Had a decent drive to get home, so I stuck with a good ol' Bud Heavy.
  
  I am just a big big fan of the atmosphere here. Best beach dive bar that I have been to in the Bay Area based on ambiance alone!

  Mahuffer's is totally a fun place to go for a drink if you are laid back and looking just to enjoy your evening. It is the kings of dive bars and jean shorts. we have been going there for 15 years and plan on being there fo many more to come.

  I have been going to Mahuffer's since the 80's, it is unusual, it is fun!  They don't put up with problems...just a relaxing place where you can be yourself!
