I am a big fan of Massa's and patron here frequently with clients. The food is always delicious. I have ordered several things from the expansive menu from just a salad, to soup, sandwich, pizza, or panini and it is always very tasty.
The only thing I can complain about is when there is a big lunch rush the service can get a little lax. I find myself waiting to order and then slow service when waiting for my check. Other than that there is no complaints from me!
We live in the neighborhood, thus we were excited to have a new place to go to within minutes. We enjoy the laid-back atmosphere, as much as we enjoy the mussels.
We have tried them at many places, throughout the country, as well as several places in the world. Aside from Maine and San Francisco in US, and Sydney in Australia, the mussels at Massa's in St Charles are even better then in Amsterdam.
The garlic broth is amazing, though a bit spicy, you want to dip your bread in and order another one.
Finally a great restaurant in our neighborhood. If you're in the Charlestowne/New Town area you should definitely check it out! The menu has a great variety from Italian entrees and pasta to pizza, sandwiches and burgers. Great atmosphere not too casual not too formal and outdoor dinning as well. Also nice to go to a Restaurant in St. Charles County with no smoking!
Review Source:Saw the sign and decided to try a new place for lunch. Â First off. Service was slow. Took 8 minutes to get someone to get me a drink after I sat down.
35 minutes later I got my food.
So service 1 star
Food:
It was lunch so I ordered a chicken sandwich. Which was over cooked and dried out. Â Caesar side salad was good. Plain basic salad. Skinny French fries.
So I'd say 2 out if 5 stars.
Decor.
Place looked new and clean. Lots of nice decor. Â 4 out if 5 stars.
So over all I'd say 2 out of 5.
Might try this place one more time for dinner. But I'm not making any plans yet.
