Great sushi (south bend standards) Â awesome bento boxes, if this was san francisco this place would be three stars at best but by south bend standards this is pretty close to excellent, and considering the scarcity of sushi places id encourage you to visit and see for yourself.
Robert is da bomb. Have been going here for years.
Things are a bit slow sometimes but bring a friend and good conversation will make help it move along.
This place has gone down hill tremendously since the last time I visited.
It has always been completely empty, with mediocre sushi,. But what it had going for it was that it was the CHEAPEST sushi place in town. Now they have a menu change. And upped prices.Since you are now paying the same price as better sushi places in town (Toyo, or even close to Soho prices) there is no reason to visit Matuba.
TL;DR I used to visit for the cheapest sushi lunch. Not anymore.
