Yes they do serve vietnamese food here, but every time we go it seems to get worse and worse. They say they are open until 4am but several times have driven by and the open sign was off and the whole place was dark, well not the whole place just the restaurant area. There is a separate room with pool tables that always has 6-8 asian men in there smoking and playing some kind of card game but definitely no playing pool. I will not get into the specifics on that. The worst part is one of the owner's son runs around and punches guys in the groin, atleast he used. I think he just sits at a table and watches cartoons now.
Overall, mediocre vietnamese food in a sketch area. There are much better Viet restaurants in Indy.

Best vietnamese in Indy.  Not fancy and very affordable.

This review is two years old (from Mar 2007), but I wanted to get the ball rolling on this restaurant so as to cover all the Vietnamese restaurants in town.

These are the same folks who had the Mark Pi's Express at 7508 E Washington St, just down the road, and later renamed it "Maxim Place."

The sign on the front of the restaurant here says "Maxim Place", but the phone listing is still in the name of "Mark Pi's Express".

The current location is the same as the previous "Pho Queen" and later "Pho 999". The place has been remodeled since the previous owners.

The food and prices are pretty good. The food is authentic.  The menu is not quite as extensive as other Vietnamese restaurants in town. I don't recall seeing any chicken dishes on the menu. I've been there twice for dinner so far and have enjoyed the Bun dishes and the spring rolls.

The decor and food is not quite as upscale as Sandra Rice and Noodles (on Pendleton Pike near German Church/Sunnyside) or the more well-known Vietnamese restaurants on the West side of town.  So if you want a fancier atmosphere and are willing to drive a little, I'd recommend Sandra.  But there's nothing wrong here either if you want good traditional Vietnamese food at a good price.

Food here is served on reusable plastic bowls/plates, not foam.   Plastic chopsticks, stainless steel silverware, and plastic soup spoons available at tables. Paper napkins. Large flat screen TV tuned to Vietnamese satellite channel.

Location is behind (South of) the Marathon gas station at the corner of Franklin and E. Washington.   This is only a block East of I-465.

From East Washington, turn South on Franklin, or turn South into the shopping center at the next entrance (going East). The restaurant faces EAST in a building that is at right angles to Washington Street. So if you're Eastbound, you might miss it. So look for the Marathon station, or Divers Supply.
