I live right down the street from this place. My husband and I ordered one dinner that left the two of us feeling full. He picked it out, so I can't remember the name of the exact dish, but it was basically chicken and vegetables (sorry for the non-helpful description). If a Chinese place doesn't give me diarrhea it is at the top of my list, and this place is now at the top!
Review Source:I've been going to this place ever since I was in college (a good 10 or so years) and they've never disappointed me. Â Sure, there are classier, cleaner places out there, but if you're in the mood for cheap, greasy Chinese food, you can't do much better than this. Â (Heck, this place suffered a fire and they still managed to reopen in a town full of near-identical restaurants, such is the loyalty of their customer base.)
Favorite go-tos are the pork fried rice and egg rolls (Nice and substantial, not wimpy like those from some other places). Â The rice seems to be cooked a bit differently these days, but it's still more flavorful than the fare I've gotten at other similar joints. Â I'm also a fan of their wonton soup and their egg foo young. Â Portions are pretty big, so you'll generally wind up with leftovers enough for another meal.
So as a service clerk for Jewel-Osco on Pulaski and Foster, I had a great pleasure when on carts duty to smell the freshing cooking of Chinese food during my execution of bring the shopping carts back to the motherland. Â
I gave into the smell and after my shift went to attain some awesome Chinese goodness.
All I had was a rude old uncle who told me I might be disappointed with my Chow Fun because it was "different" and cooked without sauce.
Say WHAT?
I took him for granted and got myself Chow Fun for my bro bro and a beef dinner special and went home to have a small feast.
YEAH. Â DIFFERENT.
My brother's Chow Fun was pure mass oily goodness, same with my dinner special. Â We were so hungry we just finished what was there. Â Our boxes done, we could see almost an eight of the box occupied by just PURE oil.
Yeah. Â Different. Â As in abundance-in-veggie-oil different. Â
Screw this place, and if you spend your money there, you're a sucker too. Â For Albany Park Chinese food, I'd rather recommend See-thru Chinese Kitchen on Pulaski and Argyle. Â The lady there is very nice and they take pride in their Canto-American cuisine.
Great for when you are craving greasy chinese delivery!
I refer to this place as '5 minute chinese'.  They always deliver ontime, usually  earlier.  Once they quoted me with a 5 minutes delivery time...and I can't even DRIVE to the place in that amount of time! Maybe  it was a language barrier, but they still got my order to me in 15 minutes or less, which was impressive for my 5 item order.
They always throw in a free appetizer, usually ragoons (which are tasty!), sometimes eggrolls.
My favs are the potstickers and Chicken Chow Fun.
AND the delivery guy is amazing! He moves fast and is very polite and respectful. Super sweet, always remembers us.
I don't know if I'm speaking too soon, but I think I found my local Chinese restaurant. Â I've been in Jeff Park for 3.5 months now and I almost gave up on local Chinese food. We tried 3 places before this and they all were god awful. My husband likes the Gen. Tso chicken and I have a few veggie dishes that I have the option of consuming. Â They are super reasonable, and their portions are huge. Â
This is not anywhere near being one of my favorite Chinese restuarants, but for delivery in Jefferson Park, I'll take it!
I've been coming here for over a year now, and I have to say that it is a very reliable place for fast Chinese.
All the appetizers I've had here are good, especially the crab rangoons. Â The pot stickers are a close second, though. Â I've mainly ordered their sesame chicken or General Tso's chicken, but the few times I've had Mongolian beef, it's been good.
I have to say that their egg rolls deserve special attention. Â I really can't put my finger on what it is that they put in there, but something about them tastes super-meaty, but I can't really detect chunks of meat or anything. Â It's definitely up there on my Top Eggrolls list.
The one negative thing I have to say about this place is the fact that the owners' kids are running around every time I go in there. Â They are typically running around, annoying each other, or a few times that I have been there, one of the little ones was deliberately coughing as loud and as hard in the other kids' faces. Â Yeah, that's REALLY what I want to have happening near my food, guys...
Other than that, giant portions served in microwavable containers. Â That's what's up.
Who would think one of those ads you find on your doorstep have such great food. I only had the orange chicken and I was very satisfied. All white meat chicken with a very realistic orange taste. The chicken was very tender and it came in under 35 minutes piping hot and very fresh tasting.
Review Source:Chinese food delivery from random new place who left a menu on my door. Â Bad idea? Yes. Â Desperate with hunger? Yes we were. Â Regret the choice? Hellsssss no! Â Recovering from a late night out, we ordered fried foods galore and to my surprise, it was delicious!
Crab Rangoons - um, talk about actual handmade, filled with fresh chives rangoons! Â Not one of those rangoons that looks like it came out of some frozen bag. Â The cream cheese filling was great and filled with yummy goodies. Â Very nice.
Egg rolls- Loved it. Oh, and this was free with a purchase of 16 bucks or more. Â The coupon was on the menu so I asked for it, it came and it was delicious. Â Yum.
Fried Wantons - You ever get those wimpy wantons? Yeah, not here. These were fat won tons with lots of filling and nice thick wrapper. So good, especially with the sweet soy sauce it comes with.
The fried chicken wings were a pass, nothing spectacular.
General Tso Shrimp was good also, but I should have asked for the sauce on the side to avoid the sogginess.
My fave thing about them was the quality of their food. Â This is my new place for chinese deliveries now. I'm so glad I gave them a try. Â Good chinese delivery is hard to come by in the area.
Still looking for a new Chinese place in our new hood, so I thought we'd give May Flower a shot (now that I've recovered from the last gross place we tried a couple months ago).
Language barrier created some confusion in placing a delivery order over the phone, but everything arrived as requested. Â
We were told 45 min, and our dinner was at the front door and piping hot just  35 min. later.
Veggie eggs rolls- not good. Â At all.
Chicken with peadods- sizeable portion, tender chicken, fresh pea pods. Â Yum. Â
Combination Fried Rice- hubby inhaled it, so I'm assuming it was good. Â
Free Crab Rangoon- nice touch, May Flower. Â Nice touch.
We'll definitely order again, but I won't bother with eggrolls.
Had delivery from them twice now. Â It was great both times. Â We are defintly going to be regulars.
Being a duck lover I have tried both the duck dishes. Â The Crispy Duck was not really crispy but delicious the way it was prepared and the sauces.
The Salted Shrimp was also good, so were the eggrolls. Â My girlfriend had a dinner special which had a ton of food. Â Which is true for all the orders, they are large portions.
This place is great. My boyfriend and I can never agree on a place for Chinese until we found this one. I LOOOVE their eggrolls. I usually get the beef n' broccoli or the Singapore rice noodles.
Delivery is usually quick and although it usually costs about $30 for the two of us, we do get HUGE portions and always have leftovers for lunch the next day.
The combination of rain and nothing apetizing in the fridge had us Yelpin' for some delivery and we found May Flower. Â We ordered the "dinner for two" deal for $22.50 plus $2 delivery fee. It came with tow egg rolls, two huge breaded shrimp (delicious), two ribs (nothing special), a big container of empress chicken (sugary breaded chicken), one of pork fried rice (the pork was a bit overdone) and one of mongolian beef. Overall, a lot of good food for the money, enough for three meals, actually. They delivered pretty quickly even though we're pretty far.
Review Source:I used to work with a Taiwanese engineer about 10 years ago who came here almost daily and said this place was the closest to home-made Chinese food. I never wanted to try it until today. Since I was at the nearby Kinko's, I walked over from to try May Flower for the first time. The restaurant is in the strip mall with the Jewel-Osco on the corner of Foster & Pulaski.
Inside, it's rather plain and seems like it could be a little cleaner. A giant light box on the wall shows a photo of a huge Chinese temple. The chairs looked nicer than fast food restaurant seating, but seemed a bit dingy too. Otherwise, the interior of the place is pretty bare and it could use a paint job or facelift.
I have established General Tso's chicken as my baseline standard for measuring Chinese food, ever since I had it at Dragon Inn. Lucky for me, they had it as one of their nearly 30 lunch combo specials. And since they had fresh fruit smoothies featured on their window, I thought I'd try one - strawberry.
While I was there 2 other people came in to place orders or pick up phone orders. Then a whole family with kids walked in. And you know what... everybody ordered a smoothie too! It was delicious! A big, maybe 22 oz. cup of pureed strawberries with smoothly blended slush containing  shreds of real strawberries and tiny seeds, not sugary syrup and fake coloring mix. They also have pineapple, mango and banana among other flavors. Now this smoothie came with one heck of a sturdy straw too. It had to be almost 1/2-inch round and was made of a thicker plastic. Without explaining fluid dynamics theory I studied at Purdue, let's just say it maximizes smoothie throughput when you suck it down and keeps the straw from collapsing from the vacuum pressure.
The meal came a few minutes later, heaping with chicken fried rice, an egg roll and my Tso's chicken. Nothing spectacular. I thought the sauce was a bit gummy and the flavor not quite as savory as I've had elsewhere. Still, the serving size was huge and I didn't eat that much before I felt full. I had quite a bit left over for later.
If anything, I'm definitely coming back for more smoothies at this place.
I avoided this place for a while because it looks a little scuzzy, but the food is really good. Â It's one of those typical Fujianese takeout places with the pictures of the food above the counter. Â
I'm a big fan of the vegetable egg rolls. Â They have cabbage and mushrooms in them. Â Last night we ordered the yushan tofu and the vegetable lo mein. Â the lo mein came out looking like chow fun or squiggly ramen noodles stir fried with lots of veggies, but it was still good, if different from what I was expecting. Â If you want lo mein, order "Mandarin fried noodles."
This is a great place to order from if you need something quick and cheap.
