We had dinner there two nights ago and the food was delicious; I had a California turkey reuben & a white macadamia nut cookie ($7.29), and my husband had a southwest chicken griller ($6.99) & a cup of fire-roasted vegetable soup ($1.99). Â The interior is large & attractive, it's very clean, and the counter staff plus the other workers were very friendly.
We tried going there for lunch yesterday, but the line was out the door.
These guys get their guests! They know how to take care of them and how to recommend everything off their menu.
I asked the favorite today: Taco Salad!
Taco Salad was great! A little heavy on the sauce but the service and the consistency well made up for it!
Give the people sweet tea! And let them drink it too!
I have now gone to this particular McAlister's on three different occasions with the level of customers varied from busy to nonexistent and it seems they just can't get things right.
On yesterday 4/1/2012 I decided I would never go to this location ever again. We came into the place and made our order. We were specific in what we wanted. The one girl seemed to be miffed in that we didn't want a full cup of ice for our sweet tea. She told us it would melt down and I told her precisely and therefore it would be more water to dilute the tea and that I wanted to pay for tea not ice. Order was placed and we paid and sat down. Well after nearly 20min's we were wondering what was taking so long being there were hardly any customers. Mike the manager asked if we needed something and my GF said yes, our order. He inquired as to what we ordered and apparently they didn't have it. The other 'black shirt' manager who was working behind the service area in the food prep arena asked my GF what was the name last name on the order. She told her it was not under a last name but her first name which was ....... Â The girl continued to ask what was the last name? What difference does this make when a last name was never given? Needless to say for the second time in coming to this location we didn't have pickles with our sandwiches and my GF went back in to ask about that. She saw orders being served inside with them and asked if it was only inside dining that got pickles? The manager Mike told the car to give her four pickles as if to shut her up and get her out of there. He followed up with "lets get this orders right people."
In an economic climate where things are tight and going out is a luxury and not a must, you would think those who work in the industry would appreciate your taking the time out to come their particular shop instead of spending your money else where. In this location are several food sources to choose from and I can say that McAlister's has been removed from our choice and if we decide that their menu is something we must have, we'll drive to another location. The food is OK but the service sucks and frankly MCL has better ice tea and McDonald's which is near by.
Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. It will never happen again.
A little crazy ordering, but at least the food was good!
We stopped here on our way to Nashville. Â We needed a quick lunch, and they were good to provide that! Â We waited in a line, and then you go up and order. Â They give you a number, and you put it on the stand at your table. Â Then someone brings you your food.
So the food was good (I had a caesar salad and the vegetable soup. Â Both were fairly good...once I got my food the correct way. Â I guess the girl at the register was too busy acting "cool" to realize that I had asked for no cheese and the dressing on the side of my salad. Â She had an attitude from the beginning, which is the only reason this place gets docked a star.
Great desserts, though! Â My favorite was the rice krispie treat with the chocolate on top, but the close runner up would be the chocolate chip cookie!
Fantastic food! It is hard to find a good place that can make a good vegetarian item! I have fallen in love with their baked potato that has Vegi chili! It is super good and way filling.
They also have some of the best tea I have had. I don't enjoy sweet tea but my mom and sister love it! They still have a great un-sweet tea!
It was a pleasant surprise to get my fix of McAlister's Deli in the Indianapolis area. Â My wife and I frequented McAlister's Deli on almost a weekly basis while living in New Orleans. Â She even used to work at one. Â
Long story short, she was super excited to stop in for some great Ice Tea and some delicious food.
We started out with the Chili Cheese Dip, which is no longer on the menu (or at least wasn't at this location). Â Nonetheless, they did make it for us, and it was delicious as always. Â
For my meal, I had the Pick 2 Combo: Spud Max and Club Sandwich. Â Both were excellent! Â I also had some great ice tea (I recommend the Sweet Tea for those who like it sweet!). Â
Overall, we had a great experience and even left with a McAlister's Deli Christmas ornament to remember the occasion.
Since Stanley's closed a few months ago, I am struggling to find a replacement deli to satisfy my reuben craving. Â McAlister's, unfortunately, is not up to the challenge.
They have a large menu of sandwiches, salads, soups and a few other things that don't seem to fit deli theme.  (e.g. nachos, baked potatoes)  I've tried several  sandwiches and sides, but like a lot of restaurants, McAlisters's is trying to do too much, and the result is no menu items stand out.
As another reviewer mentioned, they do a great job of packaging carryout orders to avoid spills and messes. Â
The iced tea is freshly brewed and delicious.
Being from California it was a great change of pace to come into a place you'd never been before and be treated so hospitably! My fiance and I enjoyed the sandwiches a great deal, and felt inclined to leave a tip to the staff that was just beaming the whole time! Everything was great!!!
Review Source:Even being a big supporter of locally-owned, non-chain restaurants, I have to give McAlister's props where props are due. Â I work around the corner from this one, and they have never disappointed. Â
Aside from the wonderful packaging they have making carry-out VERY convenient, they are sure to wrap soups and hot sides with plastic wrap to doubly ensure no leakage. Â The staff is always friendly, our orders are always correct down to the smallest detail, and a couple of times I've been given free tea or sweets. Â
Side note...a cute cashier there flattered me one day last summer. Â He made my day. Â
Oh, I'm leaving out the best part: Â the food is great. Â I've tried 7 or 8 different things from the menu, and have yet to find something I don't like. Â Great lunch spot.
I normally don't hand out 5 star reviews, but I had to for this McAlister's. Â I stopped in on Wednesday afternoon to buy a gift card, and maybe the bad day I was having was written all over my face, but the person helping me gave me a free Diet Coke and that seriously made my day. Â Just that little gesture, which I'm sure to him was nothing, made me smile for the first time that whole day. Â Â Awesome!
