Pleasant service and good menu- had the Turkey burger with added avocado and grilled onion, lemonade and a Cobb salad. The burger was served with open face styled with vegetables on the side. Cobb salad was delicious.
Go to the window that has a lovely view of the airport and faraway hills- you could even see the south San Francisco signs. Just ask for the seats by the window if the wait staff tried to seat you closer to the entrance.
The wait staff also was glad to charge my phone behind the register as well- as non of the outlets actually work around the restaurant.
The bartender here rocks! Â All of the chairs were up and he was closing down the register. Â My flight was delayed and I walked up to ask him if I could get a drink. Â I was expecting the...sorry we just closed line but he said, "Not a problem what can I get you?" Â Wow customer service...it is not dead!!!
Here was the best deal of the night...I ordered a Johnny Walker on the Rocks. Â I asked him to make it a double and he said, "Is it okay? Â It is 3 dollars extra for a second shot." Â As my wife would say, "All night long!" Â Thank you airport bartender guy for making my red-eye a nice flight home! Â I did keep the scotch party going on the plane too!!!
(I have no idea about the food! Â This review is purely alcohol related)
Extremely overpriced, though that's to be expected at any airport establishment. It's as good as it gets in the domestic terminal, however, and our waitress was quite friendly.
Had a couple of mimosas, which were decent enough; a hummus plate, which was fine but offensively expensive; and a mediocre breakfast platter (in my boyfriend's own words: "I couldn't swallow the eggs on their own -- I needed to disguise the flavor with the bacon and bread. The two strips of bacon couldn't have been flimsier. And had to wash it all down with the mimosa.").
My recommendations: Skip the breakfast options. Get an alcoholic beverage. Focus on the friendly service.
Bon voyage, folks.
For a mean veggie burger at SFO, Mission Bar & Grill is good as it gets!
Looking for tasty, filling, comfort food to take w/ me on the plane & cheese on a piece of bread wasn't going to cut it
Usually don't have much luck w/ veggie burgers (on the hunt for nirvana) but was incredibly & pleasantly surprised by Mission Bar
While not a homemade patty, it was not the standard Boca or Gardenburger. Tasty, big, crispy-on-the-outside-patty w/ no crossover hamburger grease - Bonus points for this!!!
Nice melty slice of cheese on a huge doughy soft bun & all paired w/ crispy on the outside-smooshy on the inside fries & we're talking the perfect foray into vacationdom!
It's the airport in one of the most expensive cities in the country - for $13.33 including tip I got a cup of decent coffee, scrambled eggs, home fries, bacon & toast. Â
It's the airport - ya gotta eat somethin before getting on a flight with nothing but beverages and peanuts. Â
Service was fast and friendly, the food came in no time - as for the food itself? Â
-Eggs - A.O.K.
-Home fries - why do they bother? Â you get like 5 little soggy pieces that are barely edible
-Bacon - it's bacon, what else can I say?
-Toast - I chose wheat, you get exactly ONE slice, barely toasted and you have to butter it.
But, it's the airport, nuf said.
Wow, someone needs to understand what being a captive audience means. Â Hey, capitalism works! Â Also, last time I checked, there are water fountains at SFO, and they're free.
Anyway, this place is one of the better places to eat at SFO Airport. Â I usually get the cheeseburger and fries. Â Sure, it's $10 before tax, but again, either eat/drink before you get to the airport, pay up, or deal. Â And really, $10 isn't that outrageous. Â The beef is from Nieman Ranch, and the fries are always done well. Â Oh, and it's always ready in 10-15 minutes for take away service. Â I guess I got lucky the last 15+ times I've been there.
I'm trying to remember what else I've had there, but I've never been disappointed.
Oh, there's a full bar there with a few stools, which are usually taken by passengers. Â Decent amount of dining space for sit-down service, and a separate place for take out.
For airport food, it's good, convenient, and not that expensive. Â Oh, and it's open later than most other places.
So I ordered a veggie burrito from here yesterday. Â The woman who helped me was very nice. Â The burrito took forever--I ordered takeout, and the same cooks prepare food for the dine-in crowd--and it was really pretty gross overall. Â It just had lots of sour cream, some random jalapenos that weren't even that spicy, and just basic grossness. Â So it's definitely a two-star establishment.
But I soon became thirsty, and for some reason SFO doesn't believe in selling soda in plastic bottles. Â I came back to Mission Bar & Grill and got a 12-ounce can of Diet Dr Pepper for $2.98.
TWO DOLLARS AND NINETY-EIGHT CENTS FOR A CAN OF SODA!
OK, I know that airports suck and are overpriced, but $2.98? Â Why? Â I know, because they can, but seriously. Â $2.98.
This place officially sucks. Â The 600 percent markup is not acceptable.
When taking a noon flight to LA, you figure you'll be there in no time so you hold off on lunch until you get to the real food in K-town.
tick-tock....grrrrr *stomach growls*.....tick-tock......
Great, my flight is canceled and I need to eat NOW.
The smell of fresh french fries breezes through the AA terminal and I order the cheeseburger with fries, not caring that I'm suppose to be on a diet for a wedding in July. It was very satisfying with two glasses of Pinot Grigio. I was tipsy and happy walking out of there even though I was stuck at the airport all afternoon. Thank you SO much for the bar.
