Murphy's Townhouse Cafe

Not sure I would call this a "hipster pub" like the guy below me but it's a cool place. A great neighborhood joint... amazing people, drinks are strong and the food was pretty darn good. Just a great place to hang out, relax and have some fun.

I visited Murphy's on a business trip with a coworker.  I was looking for something chill and found this pub on Yelp, drawn in by the good reviews and an outside patio option, and great reviews of the burgers.  This was a really great place to visit for a "local experience."    There were few out-of-towners.  The waiter and some of the other customers were very friendly and inviting - we had a nice conversation with the waiter!  They had a good beer selection with a few local brews.  The burgers were big, juicy, not greasy, and very filling - service was fast.  There was plenty of patio space with a fountain to stare at.  I would definitely go back if I return to Stamford.  One note - I didn't see any hipsters - at least the night that we were eating there - the clientele was mostly 30+.  But the waiter did mention that the local brew I ordered "tasted like PBR."  I think it was much better!

Hipster pub, terrace, fire pit, great food.  The place to be round the clock.  Funky, old, New England bar, kicking it old style with cool patrons and attitude.
