THE BEST BUTTERMILK PANCAKES OF MY LIFE. Not just saying this because they were good, they were effing mouthwatering. The coqui Scramble was also a dish that I must have every time I go here for breakfast because scrambled eggs have never looked, smelled and tasted so FLAVORFUL. I hate oatmeal, but not Nellie's coconut heaven in a bowl. The most satisfying and delicious breakfast. Everything was cooked with fresh ingredients the staff is so friendly and the sunday brunch buffet...to die for! Try their AUTHENTIC Pastelon. It is amazing (Plantain, ground beef, cheese Puerto Rican lasagna). Ask for it. They have a premium fresh queezed OJ you have to ask for so don't be a cheap ass and ask for the good stuff. Also try their lunch! i am Puerto rican and I APPROVE of this REAL arroz con gandules as opposed to the neon orange rice you gget at othe PR restaurants in the area. The Bacalao Guisado with root vegetables reminds me of my grandmother's cooking and that is saying a lot and their mofongo has NEVER dissapointed. Crispy outside and MOIST inside. Also it's family owned, service is swift and polite. Diana is the BEST waitress so treat her well. All in all, you have to go here.

This place is horrible, awful, whatever you do-DO NOT EAT HERE!

Oh yeah?? Still reading.  FINE!  SUFFER THE CONSEQUENCES!! ALL OF THEM.

YUP,  I MEAN IT!!  I am not just randomly yelling at you! SERIOUSLY!

OK, wear some elastic waist pants.  You are going to want them.  No need to be coy.  We are past that. Come on folks.  You hipsters, you.  You can deal with it.  Or not. Have a seat. If you are out of your depth, my friends and I will eat your portion.

You see, the $14.95 all you can eat breakfast bar is more than some of us can take.  It pushes us past the breaking point of our willpower, if we had any. We do like to pretend, at times.  Nellie's strips us to our bare essence, turning us into slavering, greedy, food mashing, eating machines with one goal- EAT ALL THE FOODS.

And my goodness.  You will NOT regret it here.  Well, the uncomfortable fullness you might, but the food, nah, no way!!

Ah, today!  I am still satiated from this morning.  To give you a hint, I ate brunch at around 11:30 am.  It is now 8:30 pm and food does not sound like anything I need. Puerto Rican Breakfast floats my boat!  We ate, oh boy did we eat!

Avena de Coco- this delightful oatmeal that is coconut and slightly cinnamon infused  is SPECTACULAR!!

Egg Casserole- Plantains, eggs, meat and totally different than what is usual!

    Plantains galore!!

    Bacon!

They also offer sausage, an omelette stand, pancakes, french toast, and dessert .

HELLO!!! Is this not enough food?? This place is amazing!  Seriously.  STAY AWAY!!!  Your pants may not fit.

It's rare, that I dream of food months after eating it, but the Avena de Coco is something that shows up in my subconscious regularly. It sounds simple enough - oatmeal made is coconut milk - but it feels like a warm, well delivered hug. Few things would make me happier than access to that recipe.

The service at Nellie's was wonderfully friendly and responsive, if a bit slow. The brunch specials were well executed and thoughtful. On the whole, the experience was comforting, and satisfying, which is what one wants from brunch. It would have been nicer if there weren't loud children running about, but that is not something the staff can control.

I look forward to returning, and maybe cajoling the recipe for my dream oatmeal from some generous staffer
