Been going here for years and always decent.  What a turn for the worst.  Shame on the Management.  A group of brand new bartenders left alone on a Saturday night the night before the Puerto Rican Day Parade. Guess Management was downtown with the Boriqua's.  All of them  (bartenders) had dazed bewildered overwhelmed looks on their faces.  None of them had a clue how to make a cocktail. The bar back had a frightened look on his face.  Anyway leave the newbies for during the week or you're destined for ruin.  Will take a break from this neighborhood favorite.
Review Source:I been here a couple of times already and every time I come here I have fun!
This is a very friendly spot even the bouncers are very cool :)
This is a good spot to come with your friends and they don't need to be gay to join in.
You would have a great time! Ah! And the drinks are not expensive ;)
Just made it home from "No Parking", this place was loud, overcrowded, hot, and  very entertaining, after 2 am the bar tender in his underwear walked around and poured  FREE vodka shots into the customers mouths, it was a  sight to see!! I just moved here from los angeles!! This place was banging!!!!!  I will go back and cant wait to see the skimpy sexy bar tenders serving drinks in there under wear. They could use some better strippers/dancers but its cool i had a GREAT time you will to, its perfect if you love Domincan Boys !!!
Review Source:I gave 4 stars because I'm a toughy and I don't give out 5's for free. No Parking hands down is the shit! Not the stank kind, the bomb kind. Drinks are decently priced - not super cheap not super expensive. The inside I would say is small to medium sized with a circular bar in the middle and half naked bartenders serving drinks. Â In the front they had some little section that looked like it could have been a VIP area, but it was too small to be anything but, so someone needs to take that mess down. Or maybe it might have been a private party that night? Idk, anyway. Music ON POINT, and if the DJ was ever playing something wack he quickly switched it up to Dembow or Rap or top 40. In terms of boy toys, you got your hot boys and your ugly ones, very typical of any establishment. Â Also, when the bar closes there are plenty of places in the area that are still open for a post-bar snack. Â
Furthermore, I found it nice to be in a gay bar with predominately good-looking black, Dominican and Puerto Rican men than going downtown to Chelsea/West Village to the predominately white gay bars with the same old tired scene, tired drinks, tired house music and tired ding-dongs.  And I never saw any fights break out here, just hot male strippers breaking out of their clothes. And if two men fight over me, that's hot by the way...
Ever since I moved to NYC in 2011, No Parking has been my go-to place for a good time. My friends and I always go here on Friday/Saturday nights to unwind, get drinks that are decently priced and hookah.
PROS:
- Drinks aren't too expensive. $6 - $10 per drink, depending
- Hookah is great and always available
- Uptown bar, avoiding the chaos and ridiculousness of mid/downtown
- Music is usually great, a mix of mainstream, r&b, hiphop, spanish, and 90s
- Hot spanish and black guys galore, sexiest gogo dancers I've ever seen
- Cockfight on Wednesday nights. Need I say more?
CONS:
- Now charging a cover (It's only $3, but still. It was free.)
- Pretty tight space, not much room for wild dancing, but you can still dance in there. Just be prepared to be bumped into, get drinks spilled on you, and be groped by random guys. (Cross your fingers they're attractive)
- The Facebook promoter is OD with posting statuses about the bar
All in all, my favorite spot in NYC. My kinda music, my kinda guys, my kinda atmosphere.
nice place in the heights, where i grew up. third-world, immigrant, capitalistic crowd with a respect for money and prominence, unlike the south bronx or east new york, brooklyn. the shy, inhibited central and south american types in jackson heights bars like lucho's aren't found here. these kids here are far more boisterous and less inhibited, indeed. since i grew up around dominicans and am a bit jaded and don't find carribbean hispanic men to be attractive, i was focusing on having a good time, as opposed to drooling over the men. a secret of mine that i'll let you all know is that's how you make yourself look attractive to them, by appearing self-assured if not self-absorbed. you'll definately score then if you're a white boy.
Review Source:No Parking is THE gay bar for sexy Latin boys and the White boys who love 'em.
11:30PM - it's just a normal gay bar with good, strong drinks and cute bartenders.
12:00AM - the salsa music is turned all the way up, the shirts and pants come off and the party starts.
The first dancer Friday night (4/13) was like something out of a fantasy: ripped body, adorable face and a more-than-adequate you-know-what. My boyfriend was dripping with jealousy by the end of the night.
I'm not a big strip club guy and shoving dollar bills into a man's nether regions isn't usually my idea of a good time. But at No Parking, I quickly had my $10s and $20s traded in for $1s just to keep the guy at my end of the bar a little longer. Que. Freakin. Rico.
If you're not a Heights local, though: call a cab to take you home. I love my 'hood, but I can't promise the wee-morning-hours street crowd will take too kindly to gaggles of drunk queens skipping down Broadway. Just saying...
If you want a good gay time without the pretense of HK or Chelsea, come to No Parking. You won't be disappointed!
The fateful night I went to Cleopatra's Needle didn't end just there. After they didn't let Aaron P. sing, and after Adam S. showed to get equally outraged as the rest of us, they decided the only thing left for us to do was see some hot, Latin... gentlemen. For this reason, we decided to go to No Parking.
For a Wednesday night? I can't believe how packed this place was. It was bumpin'.
I knew it was a bad idea. I knew it was far away. But Aaron really wanted to go, and it's hard to say no to him when he gets really excited about something. Adam was also all about it, and between the three of us, not a one had ever been to this bar before. Besides, it's worth the trip to the upper-upper-UPPER west side every so often... right?
I guess I was slightly worried about it being in a bad neighborhood or something, but right off Broadway? It didn't seem rough at all. And there was a pretty healthy mix of ethnicity among the clientele, so none of us felt out of place or like we didn't belong there. The bartenders were a dream. I feel bad for the dancers, who are forced to move throughout the crowd when not dancing on the bar.
Bad place to probably go alone (there's really nowhere to stand solo), but it's just dark enough and sleazy enough that I kind of got into it. Don't know if I'll ever be back up that way again, but who knows? If I am, I might even stop in for a drink.
All this talk about Washington Heights being the new gayborhood cracks me up. Â WTF? Â I don't think so!
Anyway, No Parking is a nice addition to the neighborhood. The crowd after work is mixed, but at night it becomes Dominican, with a loud sound mix. The decor is, well, how shall I say, eclectic? Â It's like they couldn't decide how to decorate the place, so they threw three or four styles together and called it a day.
Added one more star. Update had a good fun time on karoke night. Â Ironically I was with a straight (or is she bi) woman who was being flirted with by a straight (or was he bi) guy. Â This friend is a blast so we had fun. Â I have not been back but perhaps the next time I will add another star. Â We all need to work harder to be inviting to all!!!
I have been reluctant to review this place because the owners have been pioneers in the niegborhood with some of the first great resturaunts and Bars. Â I don't know what went wrong here. Â I actually walked in the other day looked through a magazine and left after 5 minutes while the bartender held a conversation with customers on the other side of the bar. Â With 5 other people in the bar It was not worth the work of yelling to get served and I left without his notice rolling my eyes at the doorman. Â Sorry thats it left for the last time.
I love this place. I love Dominican boys. They think I am one of them when I go but I am not. Â I live in Morningside Heights so I take the 1 up. Â It is very crowded but thats the downside. Â The music is usually great and the drinks are average. Â Not strong enough for my liking but oh well.
Review Source:I am not in love with it nor do I dislike it either. It's one of those ridiculously packed wall-to-wall places with a $5 cover charge that you still end up having a fun time with your friends. If only there was more room though...
Noe: the diner next door is a post-bar drunken morning bonus too.
OK, I am a  east/west village bar hopper... I met an attractive fella downtown who convenience me to take a ride uptown... I was a little scared and excited since I never go pass 34th street... So we jumped on the 1 train, he took a disco nap, while I counted what seemed like a 1000 stops... when I found myself asleep too, I woke up and realized we had just missed our stop LOL. We got off the next stop and hopped in a cab, we just told him No Parking please.. He said sure and took us there... it was just like the movies( I should mention this was not a yellow cab, it was a nice black luxury car service) .... OK, so we get there, get carded, paid our Five bucks and open the door and  boom, bang, bong,  whoa its one of those WTF moments... mind you  we entered on a Friday night @ 2AM and it was jammed packed with nothing but Hot Energy!!!! Everyone just having fucking fun!!!  everyone was friendly, my buddy and i split up for about an hour...and walked in circles till we found each other again, (you can only walk in circles due to its huge round bar) The space is mad small, its not a club its a lounge pretending to be a club.... everywhere you went or turn u were on someones back or they were on yours... it was pretty tight up in there.... I found the Music gr8 since it was a change from the typical dance music.... the bartenders were nice enough I did not have conversation besides the usuall "Amstel  light please" .... I can't remember the decor,  there were wall 2 wall mofos everywhere so I wasn't  looking at paint colors and drapes.  Will I go back? most likely I will not only for No Parking, but the restaurant(s) next door which seem pretty much a continuation of the bar itself most of the dudes who got hungry seem to be chowing down on dinner for 2 for 12 bucks! The down side of the bar is the way back downtown... we made the journey back on the A train we were happy to meet cool hot  dudes and make out a little while waiting on the train... we finally get on the train and realized we were tired, tired, tired, so we both fell asleep and ended up in Brooklyn LOL we both live in Jersey mind you....so it was a little bit of journey but it was a good night overall.
Review Source:One of my best friends is incredibly hot and he only likes Latinos, so we naturally ended up at No Parking since it's around the corner from his house. Â Since my hot friend found "Alex" after about 10 minutes, the rest of us were left to discover the place for ourselves, which isn't hard considering it's the size of a generous 3 bedroom apartment.
The place is cheap; it had a $5 cover. Â I'm pretty sure that the drinks are reasonably priced, although I'll be honest- I was pretty trashed and I have no idea how much I paid. Â So, apparently the drinks aren't weak!
All in all, it's not a bad place. Â It's just too small. Â It would be a ton of fun if it had a dance floor and a bar that could handle a busy crowd. Â But if you like Latinos, or you're a Latino who likes White guys, then this is the bar for you.
'First I was afraid, I was petrified..' thinking that I had to take the A train local for 130 stops just to get here.
Josh and I have been wanting to go here for so long because we love us some Dominicans and Puerto Ricans! We finally decided one night to make the journey up and kind of got lost a bit after getting off the train. Followed some homo - emo looking men and sure enough it led us straigh to No Parking.
There was a tiny line out and a five dollar cover and then the door opened and it was packed. It was Saturday and it felt like every gay in Inwood was inside, it was great!
The boys are mostly of the browner color and a bit fashionista and thugish around the next corner. So much to look at and enjoy. The music was so great..just to bad there was no dance floor. Everyone manages though to dance on top of one another and it works out to be heavenly.
We left at like 4a and the party was still going strong. We giggled the entire way in the taxi going down the West Side Highway - can't  wait to return.
for being a lounge i give it a 3. this place should be bigger and have a dance floor. Â I find it funny how people assume it is a club and not a lounge, that is why i tend to leave because people start dancing when there is no dance floor. but overall this place is ok for the community.
Review Source:Not that bad...for NYC,I guess.
George, the bartender when I went was very friendly and helpful.
The other bartenders later were so-so..and the doormen were...doormen..
It's like most NYC bars too small...and hard to find.
Music was OK...but the crowd was geriatric.
If you are in Washington Heights or live there..I'd say go.
If not...may want to try Jackson Heights.
I have been hesitant to review this bar because it is my only gay bar in Washington Heights. I hate it because it does not cater to the entire gay community that makes up Washington Heights. They have added on Thursday night a somewhat entertaining show with a drag queen named Peppermint whom I adore on other nights at other bars, somehow she downgrades to ghetto talk at NO PARKING. I find the service to be poor and straight out rude. I think the bar needs more professional bartenders that EVERYONE can like because they are attentive and cover the bar properly. I have seen bartenders distracted by friends and keeping customers waiting up to 5 mins when there are hardly any people there. The decor is a mess, seems like they have taken advice from every queen and not stuck to one single look, that center light fixture looks like a mangled mess with ping pong balls.
This bar needs a lot of work, including the disgusting gogo boys that they parade in the most out of date thongs. Sexy briefs will do just fine.
For a busy up-n-coming gayborhood, The Heights is seriously lacking in bars. This is the best at the moment and it's exactly 3 stars, a-ok.
The bar is clean, nice decor and with a full bar staffed by competent bartenders. (If you live in the Heights, you know that this is a rarity in any bar, gay or straight)
The negatives are the music. it's a banging, earsplitting, treble up sound system playing the most recent reggaetone and latin-inspired pop. Think Ricky Martin getting screwed by Daddy Yankee. (hmm, now there's an image) You know that car blasting bad dance music that makes you wonder WTF? as it cruises by? Well, imagine your sitting in it.
Plus side? hottest go-go boys anywhere in the city. Super nice, sexy and for a dollar, you could play gay-gyno all night.
A friend who lived in the area always told me about this place. I found it kinda weird lets face it....half the guys in the heights looks gay but yet so few admit it. Anyway i went there once with another friend and at first i thought it was cool. Good music OK looking people. Then time went on and more people kept coming in. The place was really crowded and it seemed that they just kept coming. As the night went on and people left there was some more space that was taken up by some queeny guy voguing and dancing around. Keep in mind there was hardly any space to dance let alone a fat guy moving and voguing all over the place.
I agree with Eric and wouldn't say 'upscale' but then again it was around 2 in the am on a Saturday night so who knows the place may be different around the late afternoon.
Have i been back since then. Nope never really felt the urge to but i guess if you live in the area and don't want to head to far downtown then by all means go ahead.
I don't know about 'upscale,' but when the A-train is being crappy, it's nice to know that there's a gay bar 30 blocks from me. I live in Inwood, so the next closest thing would be Suite.
Imagine Splash, without the dance floor, in a primarily dominican neighborhood: This is No Parking.
Or, I could just take the 1 train instead.
Nice upscale gay bar in the Washington Heights neighborhood. I decided to tour around the north side and visit the tomb of Ulysses S. Grant at 122nd and Riverside Drive. Since I was in the area I thought No Parking deserved a spot check. Here's what I found:
I happened to find a nice parking garage conveniently located adjacent to the club. I figured this would come in handy if I had too many of the 2 for 1 happy hour drink special concoctions, and speaking of conCOCKtions, the bartender, George was a hottie. George was a refreshing departure from the typical supercilious gay bartenders found in Manhattan. He gave me the run down of the scene at No Parking: Early in the night it is mostly an older white male crowd and it gets colorful after 10PM, ending in a gorgeous, eclectic mix of the neighborhood, including a few lesbians. This must be a great addition to the neighborhood. George also gave me a guilt trip about my excessive monthly rent in Williamsburg. Apparently, you can rent a 3 bedroom, one bath unit in Washington Heights for around $2200.00 per month. I wonder how long before everyone moves uptown? So the clock keeps ticking, It was 7:30PM and George poured my second drink and the bar  had only 10-11 patrons. We sat there, watching the bombshell Diana Ross perform for us on the multiple plasma screens around the room. I must tell you, when you decide to STOP for love, it may as well be at NO PARKING.
The scoop:
No cover charge
Open 5-4AM daily
Happy Hour 5-10PM daily
Cute bartender
Nice crowd: not the typical meat market before 10PM
Great decor and restrooms.
Conveniently located.
No Parking is a gay bar in the newest gayborhood -- Washington Heights. Â The bar reflects that, with an upscale, downtown vibe hidden behind a windowless exterior. Â It attracts a whiter, lower key crowd earlier in the evening that gets progressively darker and louder the later it gets until it rocks after midnight. Â It has a great happy hour -- 2 for 1 until 10 PM every day--including Saturday and Sunday. Â If it weren't so far uptown, it would be a great preparty place.
The bartenders are nice, the music is great and the only real downside is  that it tends to smell a little antiseptic after they clean (it ain't a sex club, my friends) and I wish it had a slightly more after-work crowd for those of us not hanging out at 3 AM. But, all together it makes for a great neighborhood hangout in a neighborhood crying out for one.
