They aren't doing anything wrong. Â The veggie sandwich is worth eating. Â The food is good. Â It's like a step or two up from fast food, a step down from a chain with a server (I guess the server makes a difference?) and many steps down from the place down from my house but it maybe the best option in the mall if you don't want to load up on unnecessary calories.
Review Source:I find myself craving Noodles & Co about once a week or more. Usually get the Penne Rosa with chicken and its great, never get sick of it. Their mac and cheese is fantastic too, but you can't go wrong with a big pile of choose atop some noodles. Order a side of flatbread too, perfect filler to an already big meal.
Review Source:You can't go worng with Noodles & CO. Their menu is super simple, but there's still enough of a selection.
I love their parmesan crusted chicken with any noodle dish. Splash some of that sirracha on the dish and I'm in heaven. Don't get me started on their rice crispy treats either! SOOO YUMMY! Doesn't hurt that they sell liquor.
They just got one of those really cool Coke machines that has over 100 flavor options. It's so much fun picking different flavored drinks when I dine there.
The staff is super nice and I never have to wait a long time for my food. I'd like to know who makes the Noodles & Co. music playlist too because it's awesome!
Extra casual, walk-up and order at the counter then take a seat type of deal.
Great for lunch or a very light dinner.
I was craving Chinese so I enjoyed the chow-mein style noodles w/ vegetables.
It was tasty and quick.
I wouldn't recommend if you want a full meal - although they seem to specialize in macaroni and cheese and I saw many people ordering this and it looked pretty awesome!
The menu also offers some gourmet type sandwiches and specialty soups - a great variety but kept it simple altogether somehow!
I'm no stranger to Noodles & Company. It's a quick bite & who doesn't love some carbs?
This one just seemed unreasonably dirty. Over half of the tables needed to be bussed & a broom/vacuum would have just shaken its head at all the stuff on the floor.
I could overlook those things if they had been busy. They were not. Â And call me crazy, but I'm not a fan of having someone's thumb in my salad when it's set in front of me. Â All I'm saying is put on a pair of gloves, please.
If you've never been to Noodles before, their specialty is, well, noodles.
Not that this is a surprise or anything.
So what does that really mean? It means you have a pretty good variety of food options from thai to chinese to italian. We're not talking a smorgasboard, but definitely sufficient and not overpriced.
You can get a soup and sandwich for about $5 - it's not going to be a huge lunch, but $5 is not bad for the area when most meals will be around $10.
So with that said, Noodles is a pretty basic fast food place. What's the catch? The catch is this location. This store gets 3 stars for a very specific reason: It's very horribly kept. Â It'd get 2 if it weren't for the fact that service was thankfully really fast. However, that doesn't get over the fact that there was food strewn everywhere: on the tables, on the floors. When I checked in there wasn't a single table that didn't have crap all over it or underneath it or both - we literally spent 5 minutes looking for a table as we chose Noodles this day instead of The Bagel. It was a disappointment, and while I will still eat at Noodles in Evanston, I have no intention to eat at Noodles in Old Orchard Mall again.
I've always loved the food quality and choice Noodles and Company has to offer. This particular Noodles & Company I've only ordered food for carry out and the food has been good, but the girl who answered my call on new years eve was not very friendly. Maybe she was having a bad day but she was a bit rude and not friendly when I picked up my food too. I think I'll be sticking with the Noodles at the Glen, their staff is uber friendly and I am happy eating there.
Review Source:Before going to this place, I really wanted to like it. It's a new concept, place with all sorts of pastas. And who doesn't like pasta?? I was kind of let down by my experience. I ordered the mediterranean and something just didn't taste right even though I finished the entire bowl, simply because I was starving. There was no ingredient that I wasn't familiar with or didn't like but something just didn't taste right and it's annoying because I can't really pinpoint it! It may have been the sauce they put inside. I'll give it 3 stars for the so-so service and just because it's pasta. I may end up going to a closer location if I am so hungry and there is not an alternative.
Review Source:Fresh ingredients and quick service that is delivered to your table. I enjoy this place for a quick meal after shopping or going to Lifetime Fitness. Kid friendly and it is always a plus to walk around the mall after a good meal. Old Orchard is one of the best malls around, and the bonus is the outdoor "dragon" that kids can climb on.
Also good for lunch and the choice on entree sizes will cater to your appetite. You can also order wine or beer if you are in the mood.
In true yelper style I had a little bit of everyones food. First to be able to comment on multiple dishes and secondly to be fat.
I ordered the mac and cheese and according to the 2 people on staff that were up by the front taking orders that's the best thing to order in the American food category. It's almost like a glorified Panda Express in there and when you go you'll see what I mean. You place your order and then get your food at a table. They actually come serve you, you can get Arizona teas there!! (as well as pops and organic milk) and the little booth areas are cute. Even their normal chairs are comfy!
Note: The mac and cheese is not up to kumas quality standards, which is the best mac and cheese I've ever had in my entire life and in the entire country!
Back to N&C. The Indonesian Peanut Saute is REALLY spicy, to the point where you may love spicy food but it's a little uncomfortable to finish. The pad thai was recommended by the staff. No idea what that's like because I haven't tried it. The penne rosa and pasta fresca are both very good. I prefer the penne rosa which has a little spice kick to it.
You can add protein (chicken, shrimp, etc.) for extra $$'s but it's tasty. They also have a tasty tomato basil bisque. The portions are pretty perfect for all dishes. I'd reccomend at least a lunch date here.
We went there this evening for a quick bite. It was the last time. The service was horrible. The bathroom was the nastiest ever! The tables were all filthy. They messed up my order by giving me beef instead of tofu. The cashier even rang it up as tofu. Big difference.
Wish I could give it zero stars. I am surprised it's at an upscale place like Old Orchard.
I find this place absolutely disgusting and overpriced. Â Why people like this place, I do not know. Â I've had their macaroni & cheese, which supposedly comes with all these different types of cheese. Â However, they just give you cooked pasta and put a pile of cheese on top for you to mix yourself. Â If I wanted to do any of the work, I would have made it myself at home with better ingredients. Â The flavor itself was weird, salty, and not a satisfying dish. Â My sister had the Pad Thai, and that was mediocre at best - obviously not anything close to being authentic. Â This place totally misses the mark in making any noodle dish that is appetizing or worth coming in to fulfill your hunger. Â I don't think so.
Review Source:We must have come here on a bad night, since everyone else gave it great reviews.
I wouldn't get the Asian dishes, although the Thai curry soup is good, it's just not real Asian food. Noodles is consistently good comfort food. The mac n cheese is good, the stroganoff is really good, and the pesto is my all time favorite. Every Noodles tastes about the same, just like every McDonald's tastes about the same.
Problem here is that we went to this Noodles on a Saturday night at about 8:45. Almost every table had dirty dishes on them. There were at most 3 or 4 tables without the dishes and none of them were wiped down. There were not a lot of people in the place, perhaps they just got done with their dinner rush... however, when there is one guy to bus an entire restaurant, and there are 4 employees standing around chit-chatting because no one is there ordering food, maybe one of them could bus a table or two, huh? We really wanted to sit outside, but there were no clean tables outside. And the entire time we were there, only two tables were bussed inside and none outside.
4 stars for the food
1 star for the cleanliness...I do not like eating in a dirty establishment!
I've been away from Yelp for quite some time, so it seems relatively safe to "get back on the horse" by being the first to review the Skokie location of Noodles & Company. To be honest, I was not expecting to like it very much. Franchise restaurant "specializing" in noodle dishes from quite a few different regions?? It seemed like the recipe for Mediocre Food. However, I was surprised.
Either I was REALLY hungry, or the mac & cheese was fan-tastic. I am a mac & cheese snob, so I know my stuff. I was a little bit nervous when the bowl arrived with a bunch of shredded cheese just sitting atop the macaroni, but as I started to mix it in it melted immediately and the result was a bowl of melt-y, wonderful, cheesy goodness. I loved it! I had the small size, which was a pretty decent amount for CHEAP, but as I had been starving before digging in, I went back for more. This time the boy and I split the mushroom stroganoff. It was pretty good, but nowhere near as heavenly as the mac & cheese. I also tried the boy's penne and it was good.
Bottom line? Amazing mac & cheese + good penne + decent stroganoff + good prices for good portion sizes = I'll be back for more when they open on Michigan Ave.
