North Third was exceptionally accommodating to last minute party of 12. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. The food is delicious too!

Brunch there was quite good. I had one of the specials, Local Blueberry Pancakes. They were really good, crispy round the edges, soft inside, with freshly whipped cream. Delicious. My fellow diner had the creamed chipped beef on brioche with "eggs over easy" on top, but the yolks were nowhere near runny, a bit of a disappointment. Drinks were decent. I had champagne with some sort of elderberry flavoring, quite refreshing. The mimosa and coffee were good as well.

This is such a cool spot. Neighborhood vibes. Good local beers on tap and I love the dark and eclectic decor. Reminds me of some of my favorite spots in New Orleans. The neighborhood is cool and a little off the beaten track so the pace is nice and relaxed. The servers were lovely and helpful. In addition to this being a very cool bar, the food was pretty good too. Portions are HUGE--which may or may not be a good thing, at a bar, I feel like it's usually a good thing. If you're not starving definitely opt to share something.

If you, like me, are only in town as a tourist, take the trek to NoLib if you're staying a little more "centrally located"--it's great if you want to avoid touristy spots. Feel like a local and then move on to some of the other great bars/eateries in the neighborhood. It's a great excuse to see a different part of town!

Drinks were good. I had an apple martini. Being someone who doesn't eat meat it is very rare to find any type type of fish burger. So I was shocked to see a tuna burger on the menu. I added cheese, and got the wasabi mayo on the side. THIS BURGER WAS GOOD. Definitely something I would go back for especially. Self seating is a plus. It could be a little brighter. But I will be returning.

Unreal brunch specials. I happened upon the Ballpark Special and teamed it with a nice hoppy beer (from their amazing draft selections). I'll definitely go back to this place when I return to Philly. If they don't have the same special, I'm more than confident in their regular menu items that I drooled over when scoping out the plates of other diners. This looks like a great local find for just hanging out for a drink at night too.

I've been here many times but not until my visit last Friday did I decide to review it. Why now? I had a fantastic experience... after many solid to pretty good ones. This one won me over. Each person in my party drank something different and it was all excellent. Crabby's alcoholic ginger beer may be my new fave refreshing drink. It has that ginger bite but it's light and only slightly sweet. The mojito martini was well-made, not overly sweet, and the fresh lime and mint made the drink. My friend nearly keeled over when she saw her fave IPA on tap, among a long list of others she'd happily drink. And we all enjoyed a sampling of apps that were fantastic--korean fried chicken, spring rolls, potstickers. The only exception was the  pierogi platter, which I found bland. Service was great, and prices completely reasonable for what we got. If only it could always be a holiday weekend so there's no wait...  brunch waits are super long, and dinner can be, too, so bring a book or a snack or both.

First let me say I have been a big fan of this restaurant.
But last Mon. Pre Joe Bonamassa my wife &  I went for dinner.

Appetizers were tasty, wine ok & beer good.

I had pulled pork sandwich served with fried onion rings.
    My wife fish & chips.

My sandwich tasty but the onion rings & I love fried onion rings were so greasy I could not eat them.
My wife's French fries ok, side salad served with no dressing but the fish was so greasy when she cut into it oil shot out. She took off breaking & ate fish which was not terrible.

My hope is this was an aberration as I still like this place.

I've been to this place millions of times for drinks, but I went last night to meet a friend for dinner, and now I love it even more.  The hostess made me wait for my friend to arrive before she sat me, which was a bit awkward, but it resulted in us getting a cozy table for 2 right by the window, perfect for catching up, so it all worked out.

My friend and I sat down, and instantly began to catch up.  I already had a beer from my 2 minutes at the bar.  She needed one.  She ordered it, and it took a bit to arrive, but the place was poppin' for a Tuesday night.  We split the special- eggplant fries.  I expected it to be the fleshy outer part of the eggplant cut up to the size of typical french fries.  They came and were much bigger, very hot, and really tasty.  I cut them in half to the size I was expecting in an effort to speed up the cooling process.  They had this chipolte dipping sauce that was really awesome too.  I definitly ate the vast majority of these... so sorry to my friend!

For dinner, I had the mediterranean platter.  I expected it to come as a blob of hummus, a little pile of feta, a few slices of tomato, a few slices of cucumber, a few olives, and then some pita bread off to the side.  What i received was a scoop of hummus with 3 olives on top, and then this cucumber, tomato and feta salad, with pita off to the side.  The salad was cut a bit big to work on top of the pita... or maybe I have a small mouth, but honestly, I doubt it.  The veggies were really fresh and tasty.  Its pretty tough to get a tasty tomato around this time of year, so i was impressed, and just jammed everything into my mouth anyway.  Also noteworthy is that the salad had very few seasonings/ salt/ pepper/ olive oil etc.  Also, the chunks of feta, similar to the veggies, were quite large.  I cut them up.  Overall, I was pleased with the taste of this dish.

Our server was really nice, and kind of left us alone which was exactly what we wanted.  She was attentive, and available when we needed something (like our check or another drink).  I really enjoyed this meal, and will add it to my list of awesome beer bars in the city.  Defintily worth checking out again.

Also piquing my attention was the brunch menu.

North Third is that perfect neighborhood bar. It has a good drink, wine and beer list while also managing to have some great bar food and a cool atmosphere.

I'm a fan of their stoli doli martini. It's essentially pineapple infused vodka in a martini glass. Delicious. Can't really go wrong there. They also have some great wings and a tasty burger as well.

That aside, they have some seriously wacky decor on the walls etc yet somehow it works. Don't ask me how!

Absolutely check it out if you're in the neighborhood!

North Third has all the trappings of a future hot spot of mine; super awesome beer list, decent wine list for when the mood strikes, and a good balance of bar vs. real food.  The decor is also super cool...kind of a mix of pirates, skulls, & eagles.  I'm down.
They also have an adorable outside area to eat.  The salad I ordered (chile glazed chicken salad) was right on.  I will be back my friends!

    ok I will be honest,
All I have had from here is the pierogi, the wedge salad, mashed potato, spring rolls and the roast free range chicken.
I eat here a few times a month usually late night.
My food has always been great and I love the atmosphere at North 3rd. It's loud ,laid back and casual.
    Staff and patrons are friendly.
Friends I have gone with have never had a problem with any of their orders and enjoyed their food.
It's a good spot to chill with friends and have dinner any night or to just grab a few drinks at the bar.

Great, eccentric bar. We always order the bibb salad with grilled chicken. Probably one of the best burgers in Philly with great beer on tap.

Welcoming local joint to walk to in Northern Liberties or when you want to venture out of your neighborhood.

During peak Saturday brunch hours we had no wait for our party of four, a big plus for any brunch spot. The menu definitely leans towards savory over sweet, and carnivorous over vegetarian. That's not to say dessert fanatics and herbivores are lost here, but the meat and savory inclined will fare better.

Everything we tried was on point. Huevos rancheros had flavorful black beans and potatoes smothered with zesty red chili sauce and creamy queso fresco, crowned with two perfectly fried eggs. The "legs and eggs waffle" presented a Southern-fried chicken leg with gravy and eggs atop a large, smothered waffle that tasted of buttermilk. The plate had too much gravy and not enough chicken, but excelled in the taste department. The sides of meat (scrapple and sausage) we ordered were decent too. Portions were perfect, meaning we were full until dinner but not full enough to induce self-loathing.

My only complaint rests with North Third's pedestrian booze options. The tap list is small and conservative, with good standbys (Dogfish 60 minute, Yards Philly Pale) but nothing particularly interesting. Breakfast cocktails were average. Booze does seem to be a little cheaper here than at most places, though.

The decor here is funky and the service is friendly. North Third's brunch dishes are amply portioned, reasonably priced, and rather tasty, making it a worthy addition to any Philly brunch lineup.

This is one of those places I've been going to since long before I started Yelping, so I never got around to writing a review.  Over the past 7 years I've had some of the best nights of my life at North Third.  The beer selection is always awesome.  The ambiance is funky and fun.  The food is always impeccable.  Brunch, lunch, dinner, late night drinks and appetizers ... it doesn't matter what you go to North Third for, expect an awesome time.

This spot is one of my favorites in northern liberties.  A TON of beers, and pretty solid food.  I've also never had a bad experience service wise.  I would suggest it if you were with a group of friends and just want a casual night.

Had a fantastic meal here last night! Loved the funky decor (an eagle over the bar, strange masks on the wall), the mood lighting, our friendly server, and the tasty food.

We arrived at 8, and were a little sad that a couple of menu items were already sold out for the night, but I suppose it was a good sign that everything was fresh. We tried the filet and crab cake, which was a HUGE bargain at $22, and the wedge salad, which was a good size and drenched in dressing and fresh blue cheese. The margarita mojito and the blood orange margarita were both tasty, and just $8. I don't know what prices are like all over Philly, but coming from Manhattan, I couldn't believe we could get such great quality for that price.

I will absolutely be back next time I'm in the area!

The first time I visited N3, I was slightly annoyed at all of the bare boobs and prop spiders on the wall.  What would make (my now) husband think that this was some place that I would want to eat?  But then they brought out the clams in an amazing broth with jalapeno peppers and cilantro and I no longer minded the walls clad w/ the photos of bare boobs, spiders and bats.  Before we realized that we needed to branch out and try new places, we were frequenting N3 on a weekly basis.  Some of our faves:
    - Thai glazed wings
    - Clams
    - Mulled Wine
    - Wedge Salad

Thinking about those clams seriously makes my mouth water!

Went to North Third for the first time on Saturday.  It was amazing.  The wait staff was great, food was great, and the drinks were superb.  I had the blood orange margarita and I usually don't like margaritas but the drink was amazing, smooth but not overpowering.  We were not able to get to the main course because the appetizers were so filling.  Next time going to try their trout.

    North Third is super solid.

We went for a late lunch on a Saturday and easily got sat at a nice big round table meant for four by the windows. The restaurant was almost full with the brunch crowd but our table was nice and spacious. This would be an ideal summertime spot with the windows open.

As expected the decorations were quite quirky and it definitely has that daytime in a bar look, but despite the cool level the service was very attentive. We quickly got ice water and two beers (I got the Bells Winter White, and he got the DuClaw Sweet Baby Jesus, which is apparently a beer you don't see everywhere). Then we split a pound of the famous wings (delicious, crunchy, with the perfect amount of spicy) and the crispy chicken sandwich. The sandwich and fries were delicious and huge, but I could have gone without the guac. Otherwise, mmm. This was obviously a hand breaded chicken breast and fresh cut fries, so no corner cutting here.

They cleared our plates and then someone else came to clear the table of excess silverware, napkins and used glasses. This is a touch of good service you don't get at a place that isn't trying, and it was much appreciated. North Third, I'll be back.

Add this place to the list of "places I would have never found if it wasn't for YELP".  I was thinking last night after a long exhausting weekend, I wanted (1)neighborhood place (2)warm (3)low-key (4)good beer selection (5)selection of food from sandwiches through dinner entrees as I felt a little undecided at the time.  I found it all at North Third after searching and reading reviews.  There was a nice sized dinner special menu to add to the well rounded regular menu.

5 stars - Beer selection.  Ten beers on tap right in front of my eyes at the bar and I could have had each one of them (back in the day I would have ;-), the choice was varied and a very good varied.  I opted for the very hoppy, fresh Stone IPA.

5 stars - Service.  The bartender was helpful, friendly, attentive and quick.  Thank you.

3 stars - special App, pulled pork tacos.  A little dry and a little less pulled pork than I wanted, but adding some sriracha sauce livened it up.

4 stars - Tuna burger with Asian spices and sauce, served as requested -  rare, and you can taste the flair of the ginger.  Very very nice.

4 stars - Fries were plentiful, hot, great dark brown color, I wish a little more crispy, but good fresh potato flavor.

The person next to me at the bar had the Southern fried chicken.  It looked and sounded (yes you can hear the crispiness when being cut and bitten into) wonderful....ok, next time :-)

Street parking in Northern Libs was not a problem on a Sunday night.

I thought this place had a really cool/funky decor inside - I was looking all around when waiting for our food. Brunch was great - The apple caramel french toast was really good, everything tasted fresh & was reasonably priced. I thought the drink specials could have been a little more generous & our seating was a little cramped, but I guess that's expected on a busy Sunday. Our waitress was a little inattentive, but again - It was really busy & we managed to only wait about 7 minutes before being sat when everywhere else in the area had an about hour wait. All in all, I would definitely recommend & come back!

Very unique place...boobs everywhere. Chachkes covering the walls. Friendly staff.

Came for brunch with my boyfriend and another couple this past weekend and wasn't disappointed. Had a few mimosas, good food, good company...what else do you need?

We shared the wings to start, they were awesome. They had a sweet thai glaze and were sprinkled with peanuts and cilantro. Huge fan of cilantro, not a huge fan of wings, but was a fan of these. Great start to a weekend brunch. I ordered the french toast, mainly because it was the only sweet thing on the brunch menu, but it was great. Other things that were ordered were chili over cornbread, biscuits and gravy, and the crispy chicken sandwich (which was humongous).

Everyone seemed fairly pleased with their meals, but the atmosphere of the bar stands out in my mind over the food.

After a few visits for dinner, I am updating my review to add another star. I definitely prefer their dinner menu over their brunch menu. Lately our visits have been early dinner, and everything I have tried so far has been fantastic. The Crispy Chicken Sandwich with Guacamole is so tasty and filling, and comes with a mound of fries and a crunchy pickle.  Ordered my burger medium and it came out super juicy and perfectly cooked.

Beers on tap are always awesome... if you have Dogfish Head 60 minute on tap at all times, that is a sign of a bar with good taste. They even had the SixPoint 3Beans Porter, a specialty beer brewed with cocoa and coffee that my BF has been looking for.

Specials are inventive too. BF's mom ordered last night's special - chicken fried steak cobb salad. She loved it. We shared (I ate most of) the dessert, apple crisp, which could have had a little more ice cream -- one super tiny scoop for a whole platter of apple crisp -- but otherwise was yummy, and I was so stuffed by then it didn't really matter.

It appears that they have cleaned their dining room a bit because I don't see the dust I mentioned in my last review. Still the eclectic art everywhere, but that's fine with me. Not sure if I would take my mom there with all the topless lady art on the wall, but I am okay with it.

Music is a great mix of classic rock, which my BF's folks appreciated. Service is attentive and helpful. Overall, it's becoming one of our favorite neighborhood spots for dinner.

Great spot in Northern Liberties!  I find myself here more frequently in the summer when the weather is nice and I can hold down a table on the corner of 3rd & Brown to people watch.
This past weekend a friend & I stopped in & popped my "North Third" brunch cherry & it was everything I needed it to be at 1pm on a Saturday afternoon.  Our server, Falon was super friendly, on top of everything, & incredibly helpful when it came to narrowing down my choices.  She steered me in the direction of the pancakes which consisted of a candied nut of some sort, I believe they were walnuts (i was yet to be fully cognitively aware at this point in time), apples (had some extra thrown on top) a sweet drizzle on top, straight up deliciousness.  Not too heavy, & just sweet enough.
Of course we dabbled with their breakfast meats & the scrapple...DAAAAMN!  I found myself breaking down every bite.  Just crispy enough on the outside, super tasty.  After playing my second favorite game of all time, ("Risk" being #1) that being the breaking down the flavors of a plate game, I came to hypothesize that they fry their scrapple in the same oil they do their chicken bc a hint of fried chicken flavor accompanied each bite.  Totally left me wanting more!  All of a sudden I found myself craving biscuts!  Thank you scrapple, your officially my new vice.  I'm just afraid you'll go directly to my hips, & in the words of my girl Shakira, "they don't lie." Time for a gym membership...Baaaaalls!
Overall a great experience I now have a new found scrapple addiction!  Thank you North Third!

I like this place a lot! Good bar food and burgers. Large beer list, too. Casual enough for a group but nice enough for a secluded meal. Never one to miss out on seafood, I had the ahi tuna burger with wasabi last time I was here. Wow. Cooked perfectly and melts in your mouth. Great little spot in Northern Libs.

It's a great place to get bar food. I rarely eat in Northern Liberties and/or Fishtown area and decided to go for North Third after getting recommendations from my friend.

My friend and I shared the thai chili? wings. fries, and  chicken quesadilla

These were all good but nothing wowed me. the Asian sauce for the wings were great because it wasn't too sweet. the quesadilla had lots of chicken inside. Fries were really good! The dipping sauce for the fries was awesome! North Third was a good experience but I would not go back because nothing was that special (except for the fries dipping sauce and the great service).

My friends and I have started coming to North Third before heading a few blocks over for shows at the Electric Factory. The menu is hearty and approachable, satisfying the pickiest of our group without sacrificing taste for the more adventurous among us. The ambiance is...it's almost a bit jarring to notice the discrepancy between how dark and almost gothic it is versus how loud and bumping the music is. Both of my trips have been in the early evening and it was difficult to engage in conversation over the loud music.

That said, the food I've had here is excellent. I encountered here the same problem I encounter at many other establishments - they're places I can employ with some frequency, but I hesitate to stray for my usual menu items because I crave the ones I've already had!

Macaroni and cheese is my favorite food of all time, and I was told by a trusted food friend that North Third's is among the best. She was absolutely right. The side dish is a served in a reasonably-sized crock that would certainly suffice for a smaller meal. Beneath the breadcrumb crust is magma of creamy (not watery!), molten cheese sauce - perfectly seasoned, perfectly sharp, and perfectly stringy as you fish your first forkfuls of macaroni out of the bowl. It's an extremely well-done, refined version of a classic macaroni and cheese. As with most food trends, many places go nuts with bacon-this and truffle-oil-that. I fancy a fancy macaroni and cheese, but the homey, comforting essence is often lost among the fuss. I'm much more impressed by a well-executed traditional, and North Third has nailed it.

The buffalo wings are also to die for - when they were placed in front of me, the heat emitting from the plate cleared my sinuses. That's always a good sign in my book! The sauce is spicy, puckery, and plentiful, while the wings themselves were big and meaty, their juicy interiors encased by crisp, charred skin that didn't lose its integrity despite the generous amount of sauce. When one dreams of buffalo wings, I imagine these are akin to the ones about which he fantasizes.

I don't drink, but my friends have spoken highly of their beer offerings. They to make a pretty mean Shirley Temple though!

Overall, North Third is a great option for a pre-show catchup with your friends or unwinding after sitting through too many openers down the road. The parking is plentiful; the food is yummy and reasonably priced. The service isn't notably good. Come for the proximity, but stay for the macaroni and cheese!

Once upon a time when my husband and I were newly dating he took me to a place where I experienced the best wings I had ever eaten. They were the type of wings you dreamed about, and every other wing I had just couldn't compare. For two years and multiple moves I continued to dream about the mythical wings but alas neither my husband nor myself could remember the name of the place we had gotten them at. Then one day I had a stroke of genius--to google I go--"breasts on wall +chicken wings+ Philadelphia" and lo and behold I found North Third (because the other very memorable thing about this place is the tatas that adorn the walls.)

Since that time North Third has continued to serve up some of my favorite meals, whether it be for brunch, lunch, dinner or just some awesome beer. I also highly recommend their crispy chicken sandwich served on warm brioche with some pretty kick ass guacamole.

They do lose half a star for service, it's not the best. They also lose another half star because when you order a pound of wings you can only get them in one flavor: either traditional buffalo or chile glazed. It pains me every time I have to choose.

Bottom Line: This place is awesome! Just hope the decor doesn't offend your delicate senses.

WARNING, N3rd HAS BEEN TAKEN OVER BY HIPSTERS!!!!
You did me wrong north third, you did me wrong.
I have been coming to north third for 8 years and it saddens me to write this review.  I live local and noted a change in the attitude of the staff over the last year.  It started with the cold shoulder and then into flat out neglect whenever I, or my friends,  went in.  At first I figured it was my imagination but whenever I entered I was ignored completely until I had to flag down wait staff.  A couple months ago our waitress clearly did not want to be at our table and was much happier sitting and flirting with other tables filled with hipsters.  It clearly pained her to go wait on the old men.

However, I so enjoyed the food and location that I gave it another shot but only to get the same result.  I waited at the door, with the hostess walking by, until I had to sit myself.  I was then ignored for another 10 minutes, again with the hipster crowd getting immediate and friendly service.

Finally I took one last shot this last week.  Same same same.  This time it was the male waiters that ignored us.  When someone finally came to the table it was the hostess who told us that we either needed to order  now or go to the bar, the table being reserved for food.  I find it interesting that in a bar with empty tables, where I have previously sat for hours before and drained expensive drink after expensive drink, I am asked to move.    Again, the waiters were more than happy to converse, joke and laugh with the hipster crowd as we were made to wait.

So it is quite clear the staff does not like the "yuppie" crowd.  I get it and will be happy not to come back.  Standard Tap has better food and are much friendlier anyway.  But, because of my fond memories,  I would leave north third with a word of warning.  The hipster shit in the face crowd will spend about 1/10th of the money I will on any given night.  You may find, one day, that locals like me all get the message and quit coming in.  You will likely find yourselves out of business shortly there after.  Maybe the hipsters can help you move out.

Good luck, you will need it.

North Third isn't a bad place. It's pretty enjoyable especially during the day when the windows are open and the sun and fresh air are coming in. So what's with the three stars?

    GOOD:

Hostess had a smile, as did our server who was nice and gave good service. Our food came out SUPER fast (the place wasn't packed yet for brunch, so we got there at a good time). I got a breakfast burrito that was smaller than some others I've had, but probably just the right size for my stomach to actually be able to finish. Came with potatoes, too. My boyfriend got the 2 eggs, meat, fruit, and toast for $7. Mango mimosa was yummy.

    MEH:

The Monster Mary wasn't that monstrous. I wasn't expecting a large size, but something that made it earn that name. Really spicy? Have some sort of crazy garnish? Nope...just a regular bloody mary that was actually on the weaker side. Also, by the end of our meal, the place had really started to fill up. Mind you, there were still open tables, though. We were waiting for our server to bring back our check so we could leave, and the busser came and not only removed everything single thing from our table and made us feel rushed to leave (remember: there were still open tables), but told us he had to move our table. He couldn't wait the 60 seconds until I signed my check and left? Just really bothered me.

    This. place. rules.

I can't lie, whenever the idea of brunch is brought up I always suggest North 3rd.  I lived in NoLibs for 2+ years and was a fixture here on the weekends to indulge in brunch.  It has a unique vibe and interesting artwork, but most importantly, great food and good service.  They also get a +1 in my book for serving scrapple.

Also, their asian wings are a must try.

Never in my life have I seen such dour employees. They weren't bad. The actual service was solid and efficient.

    But....

Everyone was miserable. Sullen. Almost like they were in a state of clinical depression or had all just fallen into a collective K hole....It was an extremely catatonic group. No smiles. No emotion. No happy.

It was like having your car break down in an episode of the Twilight Zone. Everything looked normal. The town was clean, the people were there, but something was wrong. Off kilter. Their eyes just weren't right. Their demeanors were just not fully human. Like they were harboring some dark secret or possessed by an alien entity or were part of an overly tattooed, burger eating religious cult that worshipped the God of "Too Cool For School".

The place was full of single guys sipping beer and eating burgers while staring morosely at the TV and clicking away on their phones, just to let us all know that they were busy and important and had "meetings" to go to and "stuff to get done".

The rest of the population was mostly first dates....Which is kinda what this place is known for given the reliably clean and sterilely hip atmosphere.

The vibe used to actually be authentically cool, but it's been hermetically sealed in NoLibs blandness for so long that it's more like freeze dried, astronaut ice cream than Ben and Jerry's Chunky Monkey anymore.

Been coming to North Third since it opened all those years ago, but it had been 3 or 4 years since my last visit. The food was OK. But like most cuisine, and really everything, in Northern Liberties, it was painfully mediocre, vastly overrated, and didn't provide anything special for the price.

Will try one more time at the Fancy Pants Theater Night to see if this place still has any flavor left....Because right now, it feels obscenely bland....

North Third is more like a museum of what NoLibs could have been, and almost was, than anything resembling how the people in this neighborhood actually are today.

It gave me sad to see what's become of this place and this area.

I try not to bitch about how hard life is when you are a vegetarian because I honestly find great options every where I go.  As long as there is one vegetarian entree, a good sandwich, a decent pasta, I'm content.  Even if it isn't very good, I appreciate that there is an option for me.

How the hell does North Third not have a vegetarian entree on their regular menu?  And of all the days we go there for dinner, nothing on the specials menu?  So I ended up with the lamest vegetarian meal, french fries and a beet salad.

Now I like beet salads, and this is a pretty good one, but it is so dated.  Didn't everyone add beet salad with goat cheese to their menus in like, 2002?  My husband had the Jersey tomato salad and it was really really really not worth $11.  The tomato was ... not bright and ripe enough, and there was way too much balsamic.  He also got the pulled pork sandwich, which I didn't try and he didn't finish (but the dog did.)

Maybe we'll stop by for a drink, maybe I'll ask if there are any vegetarian specials before sitting down at a table, but I'm not planning on it.

Went there today for brunch at 1:00 on a Saturday afternoon. My type of eatery...hip, casual, and cozy. Waited only about 5 minutes for a 2-top. Street parking was ample as I saw 3 open spots on my approach towards the restaurant. Decided to see if there was a parking spot even closer and lucky me found an open spot right in front of the restaurant! :) Love when that happens...I knew it was gonna be a good time thereafter.

Ordered a mimosa...so good that I ordered a re-fill...right amount of bubbly fizz in there that made it so thirst quenching! Also ordered the blueberry, lemon, poppy seed pancakes from brunch menu...holy crap what a damn good stack of pancakes! Needless to say I devoured them. I'm a carb monster! I also taste tested the Three Pigs Omelet and it was pretty good! They can do omelets, no doubt!!

    Would definitely go back again...and again...and again...etc.

I've enjoyed hanging out at this place. Oh, the first time was exciting cause some pink shirt wearing popped collar preppy types tried to do a drink and dash- there was a chase! Sirens! I wonder if they caught em, the freakin scallywags.

Anyway, I never received any update on that triflin' crime attempt because I pretty much didn't return to North Third for almost a year. And that brings us to the present day, or really, thrice in the last couple of months. (An opportunity to say, "thrice," how I relish you.) There's a good array of quality beers at North Third, and I've happened to find a comfortable nook in which to drink them.

It's like all have stated, the atmosphere and decorating are all macabre-yet-festive in that Day of the Dead kinda way. Spooky yet sparkly, plus that portrait of the big healthy mams. I understand why so many feel the need to mention them. Cause they're like right there. I might start staring off into space, and shake my head, snapping back to...and I'm staring at them. I feel like a creep...

I'm telling you, I was just sitting there, zoning out, waiting for my calamari or fries. That's all I've tried as far as foodstuffs, so far. I'll see about changing that soon because, as for at the calamari and fries for a quickie bite, they well passed muster. Both perfectly crispy and seasoned. The calamari was cooked just right too, good going.

Really, what I've mostly done here, is drank in the dark. I do mean that in the most macabre-yet-festive way.
