I moved into the area about 6 months ago now, and this is by far the best pizza I've had around here.

You really have to like a buttery crust, but if you do it's a very solid option.  Both the thin crust and Chicago style deep dish (think Lou's) are very good, though I tend to lean towards the thin crust.

Ingredients are fresh, prices are decent, and delivery is free.

My one complaint is that the cheese isn't as gooey as I would like (on either style), not sure if it's because it cooled too much in transit or what (doesn't even get that gooey when I throw in the oven the next day).  But just a minor complaint.

There is not a lot of good customer service these days, and it's more common for people to speak out about really bad service.  HOWEVER, I'm happy to report that these guys are at the TOP of their Game!!!  NOT ONLY is the Pizza Delicious Chicago Style Pizza...(FOR ONCE REALLY GREAT CHICAGO STYLE PIZZA THAT YOU DON'T HAVE TO TRAVEL DOWNTOWN TO EAT) - but the Customer Service is pretty freaking amazing!  It's also BYOB which is a nice perk as well.  I love their pizza, and all the employees are classy,  respectable, all around nice guys.  It's just another reminder why this city is so great!  Ask for Miguel...and you're pretty much in good hands.

Good Job Boys, and thanks for the great pizza!!!

By far the best pizza in Chicago! We've ordered several times since discovering them a few months ago and it's never disappointed, both the thin and deep dish are delicious. They're also super friendly, reasonably priced, and free delivery!

The deep dish pizza is really good.

I'm more partial to Giordano's because we had one right by our house growing up.

That said, the pizza is tasty. It's not as filling as most other places because their deep dish seems a bit less deep than the other go to deep dish establishments. However, their pizza is much cheaper. And, no delivery charge!!!!

I can get a large deep dish with sausage + tip for about $22.

That's a deal and a half. This is why Nueva Italy is my go to deep dish place.

I stopped in when they first opened last year, and was impressed from the beginning. I've probably eaten in or taken out their pizza about fifteen times since then, and I can say it is consistently good quality, flavorful pizza, and I choose it over nearby J.B. Albertos. Like others, I think the crust is notably crisp on the outside while being deliciously buttery and soft on the inside.

The Mon-Thurs deal of a large with 2-toppings for $9.99 is quite a price for a place like this. One note: to get that you have to call in; the deal is not offered through their online ordering service.

I'm in love.  Personal deep dish with butter crust.  It's carefully packaged so it's delivered piping hot.  The house salad is beautiful.  Just beautiful. Sniff.

I am a pizza fan through and through. I will eat anything and everything from frozen to gourmet pizza. Since moving from the mecca of pizza joints that is the south side of Chicago, I have been on a quest to find a great pizza place on the north side.

I have tried four places since moving to Rogers Park and have yet to find anything as good as the south side places... except Leona's (surprisingly)!

I ordered a large cheese pan pizza on a Wednesday night for delivery (a minimum of $15 is required for delivery) I ordered through Grub Hub and the estimated time of delivery was an hour from the time of ordering. Delivery took 45 minutes, earlier than the estimated time.

The pizza was cut into squares, the cheese was not completely melted, and had the appearance of a frozen pizza. The taste was also that of a higher end frozen pizza. There weren't very many spices that I could taste in the sauce or in the cheese.

The best part of the pizza is the crust. I paid extra for the butter crust. I had aspirations that it would be closer to Lou Malnati's butter crust. The crust was good, but not great.

I would say, if you're craving pizza, but don't want to go through the hassle of cooking your own pizza in the oven, go ahead and order from Nueva!

Celebrating a good friend's birthday at a home nearby and were on the hunt for good pizza.  Earlier that evening the friendly couple hosted a nice soiree with the addition of a "family pack" meal from Pizza hut.  A couple pizzas on garlic bread with an order of wings and breadsticks for a mere $20 dollars.  That order was torn apart in minutes.  People were still hungry and since the birthday boy is a fan of Chicago pizza, I felt it necessary to order up a couple more pies.  Sharing is caring.

A quick scan on the Yelp app on my android phone for local pizza flavor and this was the first spot to pop up which happens to hold a 4.5 star rating.  I called in to find out more details, placed an order and forty five minutes later we were on our way back to the party with pizzas in hands.  A thin crust BBQ and a deep dish pizza (my own creation).  (Per reviews, everyone says butter crust is a must and so we had it as well) One detail to note about their thin crust is that it's hardly thin.  It's prepared like a thin crust but had the crust of a pan pizza.  1/2 of the party loved it, the other 1/2 didn't care much.  I think because the toppings seemed to be well done, chicken was dry.  Their deep dish pie however was the clear winner.  That pie was gone in 60 seconds or less.  Whether its giardinera, hot peppers or crushed red pepper, ask for something hot to be added to the pie while baking. It's a must!

After four bites into this za it was decided that another order was needed but placed by another.  Pizza fresh and hot delivered in about forty minutes or so later.  This place is bookmarked for future house party deliveries!

Note about the location.. it looks like a dive.  When I drove up, I couldn't believe what it looked like.  I'll admit, a joint like this.. I would drive past without looking back.  Yelp reviews were on point; winner!

This is the third time I have ordered pizza from here and it is the best pizza in the Rogers Park/Andersonville area. Thin crust pizza is solid with fresh, flavorful toppings. Tonight was first sausage and sausage was tasty and lean. Right amount of sauce and cheese - and as always, came piping hot. Great value - ordering online saves you 10% and all 3 times came within suggested delivery time of 45 mins. The Best!

The guys that run this place give a sh!t. They actually care about how their food tastes, how it goes out, and how I received it. For a small "Mom & Pop" neighborhood place like them, the feedback loop was unbelievable. From the time they picked up the phone to take my order, till my 2x pizzas were delivered they wanted to know if everything was OK.

Secondly, I am eating the 2 pizzas right now - one thin, one deep-dish. And I am happy and a pizza eater can be. I was weaned on Lou Malnati's , Uno,  Due, Gino's - and I have a high standard for pizza.

    This pizza ROCKS.

Deep-dish (spinach and mushroom) has a buttery, flaky crust that stands on its own.
Thin (pepperoni, mushroom and black olive ordered cut in pie wedges) was perfect. Perfect sauce, cheese and attention to detail.

These guys are now on our "go-to" list for some of the best eats in Rogers Park. Glad I looked them up on Yelp, and glad I gave them a first shot.

We stumbled on this place, and their pizza was EXCELLENT.  We love pizza from Gino's and Giordano's, and Nueva Italy's thin crust might have been better than both of our go-to's.  Definitely order the buttery crust.  It was worth the extra money.  We had sausage as well, and it was generous, a tad spicy, and very yummy.  The pizza is cheap as well.  We'll definitely be going back.

We tired them for the first time tonight.  Their thin crust pizza is really tasty.  We ordered the sausage, onion and mushroom combination and it was addicting.  The crust was perfect.  We also tried the jalapeno and mushroom poppers.  The poppers were ok but the pizza was the best part!  I would definitely order from them again.

This place is great! Fast and friendly delivery, piping hot, crunchy crust, ample toppings, and very reasonably priced. A great neighborhood option for both thin and Chicago style crusts.

I ordered a pizza and the only two good things that I can say is:

    1)  Fairly cheap
    2)  Crunchy crust

But beyond that, the sauce, cheese, sausage and green peppers were all pretty much tasteless.  The canned olive slices did have some tastes but not very good.

Of all the Chicago pizzerias this one is below average in a medocre field.

I would have preferred to pay more for higher quality.  I'll stick with Apart Pizza.

My search for great pizza goes on.

My favorite pizza place was sold after almost thirty years and it almost immediately became no longer my favorite pizza place. I shopped around and just couldn't find anything that I liked. Then I found Nueva Italy Pizzeria on Grub Hub late one Saturday night and it had 4 1/2 stars. I ordered a pizza and a new favorite was born! I've only ordered their deep dish butter crust but I find it rich and tasty, without tasty too buttery or fake like some pizza place's butter crusts can.

The sausage is spicy and is generously spread across the pie. Their service is friendly and quick. I hope they'll be my new favorite for the next thirty years!

Update: I first went to Nueva Italy Pizzeria on 4/17/2012 and it was love at first bite; see my previous review if you don't believe me. I went there 3 more times and it was great each time....THEN I called last weekend for a pickup. The girl taking the orders could hardly hear me for all the noise plus she seemed disinterested, almost put-off that I called. I placed and order for pickup and was told it would be 1 hour. I knew this was wrong so I asked again and she checked with someone who said 30 to 40 minutes. Got there 35 minutes later and saw the reason for the noise: 5 kids running around and screaming while their mom's put together pizza boxes. The place was empty except for the daycare portion of the restaurant. I pity anyone who wanted to eat in the restaurant. O K, no big deal if I could only get my Pizza fix. My pan pizza was ready but the thin crust for my girlfriend was not. 15  long minutes later the thin crust was ready and I was going home to eat those great pizzas! Opened the boxes and WTF!!! Soggy, undercooked, JB-Alberto clones. I ordered butter crust on both pizzas and was assured I could get it on thin crust pizzas now. Maybe I could but I didn't! And guys; real pizza is cut in slices not squares. It was slices the first 4 times I went now it was soggy, sort of warm, wrong crust squares!

We wanted pizza, but decided that we wanted to branch out from Candlelite (which we LOOOVE, but the way, just wanted to try somewhere new). We saw Nueva Italy on Grub Hub and decided to order. We got a thin crust cheese with garlic on butter crust. It arrived super-fast, and was absolutely delicious. Not too heavy on the sauce, and the butter crust really made the meal. We will definitely order from there again.

Ok. So we were fans of all the previous restaurants that have been in this space (Mexican then El Salvadoran x3), so we were skeptical of a pizza place given existing pizza competition in RP.

But the reviews here made me reconsider.

So we came in Saturday early for dinner and ordered their thin crust, butter crust style with half spinach/tomates and the other mushroom/sausage. Got some mozzarella sticks just keep us and our daughter occupied.

So what other Yelpers are saying is true - great crust, great toppings. Staff are warm and welcoming. The butter crust is unique (it's been a while since I've been to Lou's to compare though) - so next time I'd like to try their regular crust in either thin or deep.

The place is a little nicer than it used to be with new tables and nicer chairs.

Will it take the place of our regular delivery place? Should we try the other two pizza places that are top ranked for RP? (Nueva is that much closer though and it's hard to imagine pizza that much better at the others).

Here's to Nueva climbing the RP pizza ladder!

I hesitate to write a negative review when this place has so many good ones, but my husband and I had a thin crust pizza here, which tasted pretty good, but I got sick a few hours later, and my husband didn't feel well either (although he didn't get as sick as I did). I won't be going back.

Thank you god!!! I live in Edgewater and am a deep dish junkie. There's decent pie in the hood but nothing that blows my socks off. (Calos is my typical go to) I'm a devoted Malnati's fanatic but there's none that deliver here. I gave up cheese for Lent and today was my first indulgence in pizza for a long time. Decided to find something new. Soooooo happy I went with Nueva. I saw another review compared it to Lou's and it's a dead nuts clone!!! I've got a new go to spot in the hood.

I have never been a huge fan of most of the pizza places in Roger's Park, but I hadn't seen Nueva Italy before so given the low prices and good reviews I thought I'd give them a try.

I ordered a small deep-dish pizza with mushroom and spinach over the phone. The guy was friendly and the delivery was quick. I thought the price was definitely good considering the high quality of the pizza. Crust was perfect blend of buttery and crisp, tomato sauce was flavorful with chunks of whole tomatoes and spices (not that weird overly sweet and yet somehow bland smooth sauce that some places favor), and the spinach and mushrooms were fresh.

Overall, while I've only had their deep-dish, based on this order I will definitely be ordering from them again.

very good pizza a surprise for the neighborhood, The thin butter crust is excellent we will be a returning customer and best of all 2 blocks away from home. Pizza tasted great and I will add I find most pizza very salty this is not all, ingredients seemed very fresh, sausage was of home made quality I think it is actually. Pizza was delivered right on time too. Over all I am very pleased with quality and service the delivery person was very friendly as well as the person taking the order on the phone. Keep up the good work guys we want you to stay in the hood!!

Seeing a new pizza resturant in the neighborhood is a breath of fresh air because of the lack of restaurant diversity in the barrage of taco restaurants in the Rogers Park end of Clark St. I have driven past the resturant a few times but finally decided to go in and order a pizza for delivery (it is on my way home).

I walked in and the guy taking orders was realy nice and helpful, I asked him what their best pizza is he said they sell more thin crust but their deep dish is really good. I have to confess that I am a native Chicagoan and grew up eating deep dish pizza. I have not had it in years because I found it to be a big hunk of pizza w/o the flavor complexity of a good thin crust. I skeptically ordered a cheese deep dish with butter crust ( I was hopping they had fresh basil as a topic and beef; they didn't).

I was so shocked at how good the pizza was. The crust is perfectly buttery and crunchy and flavorful. The cheese is flavorful, not too much, not too little, and the sauce is delicious! I didn't need the complimentary cheese & red pepper to add to sauce is so flavorful with the perfect texture, without overwhemling the flavor of the cheese and crust. Neuva Italy has the best deep dish I have had in many years. I did no miss the fresh basil or the beef. I will definitely be back!

Tried this place the other day with my best friend on a whim! So tasty! She ordered the chicken Parm sandwich and I had the grilled chicken breast sandwich. The sandwiches were delivered hot and fast and were amazing! Did I mention the delivery was fast? From order to eating was less than a half hour. Next time we are trying the pizza. Don't pass this place up!

It's awesome pizza! If you like Lou's or Gino's you will like this pizza. Tell them not to cut the pizza so the crust stays crisp and do it well done. Make sure to get the butter crust! Mmmmm soooooo good!

You know what?  For going out on a limb and trying a new pizza place, this pizzeria was GREAT.  I ordered delivery so I can't comment on the actual location, but the pizza I ordered was delicious.  As a person who compares most pizza to Lou Malnati's, this place has a thin crust that could really challenge the big powerful Lou's...and is way more affordable.  Their Nueva Italy specialty thin crust = a new favorite, their Garden Salad = simple, fresh, and good portion.
Really.  Kudos to this place - I hope your business flourishes!

there deep dish is consistently really really good. Just ask for it well done like I do. Also, I find if very ridiculous and suspicious that Yelp has filtered 10 of Nueva Italy's reviews!!! They are small business owned by guys who wake up at the crack of dawn and work their other jobs, and the come to the pizza shop afterwards and work their all night. They deserve a fair chance.  .  . why does jb albertos have 200 reviews that aren't filtered? Why does only my review come up? I bet this review will get "filtered" as well... it's not fair that all their reviews are "filtered" by some arbitrary filtering system just so that they have to pay yelp to get their reviews released to the public. Also it's not fair that when I go to their page, there is ads for other pizza places nearby. C'mon yelp. Make yourselves accountable, don't just make silly youtube videos that don't explain anything about you filtering system.
p.s they have free wifi and they are BYOB

    p. p. s there cheeseburgers are good :)

Pizza is literally one of my favorite things of all time to eat, so I would consider myself a connoisseur and pretty harsh critic...

Fortunately for Nueva Italy, this may just be my new favorite pizza ever! I dined in the other night and had a great time! The restaurant was very clean, my pizza was served hot and fresh right out of the oven (my favorite), staff was SO friendly and accommodating- and just to add the cherry on top of the cake, I learned that it was BYOB, so I was able to run out and bring a bottle of wine while my pizza was being made in the oven!

I ordered a thin crust pizza and it was the PERFECT butteriness and crispness and had the PERFECT amount of toppings on it. I could tell the sauce was their own special recipe- and it had an amazing medley of flavors blended into it- but was not too sweet or overpowering as to take away from the rest of the pizza! Ingredients were super fresh also, so it was great all around!

Like I said, I'm a harsh critic, but I cannot think of one bad thing to say. They will definitely be seeing me back again soon! I have already told several of my friends about Nueva Italy and they agree that it is an amazing new addition to the neighborhood!

I haven't tried the deep dish on my own yet, but according to my friends, it's the best in the city! Congrats to Nueva Italy on being my new favorite pizza spot!

Just had delivery from Nueva Italy and was pleasantly surprised.

Had a deep dish pizza-- I ordered a small but they sent me a medium (no extra charge) to welcome me as a 1st time customer.

Well that was a nice gesture but it wouldn't have mattered if the pizza wasn't good... but THANK GOODNESS it was pretty great. I'm a big-time Malnati's guy and Nueva Italy's pie was damn close. Maybe their crust could have been a little more buttery but everything was at least good about it: Good ratio of toppings, nice sauce to cheese ratio, sauce not too sweet. Oh, and the price was right, too!

So... they gave me a good pie and an upgrade for free... so I'm ordering again. And, if the next pie is as good as the 1st I am gonna be one happy man.
