O'Charley's as a chain is one of my favorites. I love their soups, salads, solls, and I've honestly never ever had a bad meal. Service, of course, is another story. Recently my folks and I went for dinner. We were starving and elected to sit in the bar. There was basically no one there. It took a while to get service and our server was very unattentive. Also, I was getting over a really bad cold and wanted nothing more than a bowl of soup to go with my salad that I ordered. We also had an appetizer. The app came, but no soup. There was a long wait in between appetizer and dinner, and still no soup. Finally the dinners came out, and still no soup. I told the guy that I never got it, so please remove it from my bill. Naturally, he blamed the kitchen. Really?! As a responsible server, you should be the one to take ownership of an issue and check to make sure the kitchen is sending out what people ordered. I never get to go here because most of my friends don't like O'Charley's so going here was a real treat. I was really looking to forward to that soup making me feel better since I had a sore throat. So dissappointing. Our waiter was kind of a d-bag. he didn't care that he messed up and wouldn't take responsibility for his actions.
Review Source:I have to say that I never really think about going to O'Charley's but I I happened to have gone twice in the last month and I was pleasantly surprised. Â
The warm rolls that they bring to the table are just as delicious as I remember. Â And they'll bring you as many baskets as you want but you have to be careful because you'll enjoy them so much, you might forget that they're bringing you an entree. Â
The first time I went to O'Charley's I wanted to get the chicken tenders but I gave up fried food for Lent so I went with the Teriyaki Sesame Tilapia off their $7.49 menu. Â I won't say it's the best fish I've ever had but for $7.49, it was pretty darn good. Â The fish wasn't over cooked, the wild rice was nice. Â
The next time I went, Lent was over so I ordered the Chicken Tenders that I'd been craving. Â I went with the $7.49 menu again and ordered it with the naked twisted chips. Â The chicken tenders were not as good as I remembered them to be in college but they weren't bad. Â The naked chips were fun and delicious but next time I might get the sweet potato fries instead. Â
Some of the friends I went with ordered salads and the lunch portion is a generous size. Â They also said the salad were quite tasty too so a win win!!
The best part was that we all had 1:00 meetings to get back to and were in and out in 40 minutes. Â That's pretty impressive considering the restaurant was full. Â
I'm not going to claim that O'Charley's is my favorite restaurant but I definitely prefer it over some of the similar chains that exist.
A group of us went here before an outing and I just had to write a review. Â Our service was terrible since we had to ask for things two, three times and our server even used the excuse that the iced tea was "stinky" so they were making more which is why it wasn't out yet! Â (gasp).... Needless to say the service was horrible but the restaurant is dirty and the food is to be expected (is it microwaved?? I can't tell.). Â That said, I really don't recommend.
