This past weekend I took my son who was visiting from out of town to this restaurant.  Neither of us have ever been to this chain and upon walking in we were excited but that seem to diminish very quickly.  Once we ordered our meal, it too nearly an hour for us get it!  My son ordered a personal pan pizza and I ordered a turkey bacon club with fries.  The lemonade we received seemed to have had a bucket of sugar in it in which we were told by our server Abbey "to water it down  by mxin it with half water"  WTH!  My son's pizza was prepared to perfection, but my sandwich was cold as the north pole!  Bacon and turkey seemed to come straight from the fridge served on what looked to be toasted bread but it was also cold.  The fries were too salty!  Once Abbey asked us how our meals were, I told her I was unhappy in which the manager/ cashier on duty "Corinna" came over and offered to remove the sandwich from our bill.  We were prepared to pay the balance and leave a tip but when we presented them with a small dollar amount gift card, they refused to take it and added the sandwich price back on!  What a bunch of CROCK!  I vowed to never come to this location again.  I pray the others are not this bad!  We were insulted as well as served a horrible meal (well I was) that made me want to PUKE!  Good luck going to this place!

I don't care if it's a chain, those gosh darn Pizza Rolls are freaking yum.
This location host's Team Trivia on Wed nights at 7:30pm.- but it get's packed so get there early to get a seat!  Service is friendly in the bar area.
Usually only have apps and a few drinks, wine is a bit pricey, but those pizza rolls and trivia keep us coming back!

This is really a 3.5 star review, but I decided to lean the other way when giving it the actual amount of stars.

I came here on a Friday night before seeing a movie, as I love Old Chicago's pizza and their beer selection is excellent.

It was absolutely packed, but we were able to get a table within ten minutes, which was nice. The problem that we ran into was our server, unfortunately. It was clear she was swamped, which I understand, but she was carrying some sort of attitude that was totally unnecessary. She seemed to be incredibly annoyed for some reason when we wanted to take 10 seconds to find the drinks we wanted...I'm sorry you're slammed, but don't get mad at me for trying to choose a beer from the big list you have!

After taking our drink order, she disappeared for 20 minutes and didn't even check in before we got our drinks-20 minutes! It got to the point where a nicer woman who looked like a manager probably noticed us looking for her, and had to come over and ask if we'd been served yet.

As usual, the pizza was tasty as hell, as was the beer, but the server's attitude kind of put a damper on the whole thing and made us feel unwelcome.

I'll probably go back still, because I love Old Chicago (and I'll write an update), but the first experience was not the most pleasant one.

Well, I'm a wine girl.  Yes, they offer wine.  Yes, it is decent.  However, that is it - not delicious.  I usually go with my friends who are beer folks: They are always pleased with the beer options.  The service is always decent but not stellar.  The spicy wings, OMG.  It is what keeps me returning.  Ahhhh, heaven.  Ambiance and bathrooms are fine - nothing great - nothing bad.  I'd give it a 3.5 stars, but since I can't and they refill my water glass...4 it is for Old Chicago!

It's no Lou Malnatti's but it is the best in Denver for sure.  Also love the appetizers, such as the Italian Nachos (pure brilliance) and the Pepperoni Rolls.  Too good to pass up.  Of course our favorite pizza is the Chicago Original - pepperoni, sausage and garlic.  Delish.  Wish they delivered - then it might  be a 5 star joint.

I'm a fan of Old Chicago's Pizza and even though it's far from home I probably make the trek 4x a year.

My main issue is the service is really hit or miss. I've gone during dinner rush and had great service then in for 9 pm snack and service was abominable.  No refills, server snooty, forgot items, etc.

Since I'm not a beer drinker, I can't speak to that.

Truthfully, I don't really come here for the pizza. I do know that the pizza is pretty good, but honestly, I'm more of a thin crust guy. Just laying it out there for you. So why do I come to Old Chicago if not for the pizza? The beer.

Old Chicago has a ridiculous amount of beers on tap. You get a little card that tracks your beers. You get prizes for drinking beer. What's not to like in this arrangement? I'm working on getting one of the little pewter steins that they have behind the bar. It'll be a lot of beer drinking, but I think I can do it.

I felt like Pizza Hut could serve pizza. I wasn't truly impressed by it.

But I have to admit the customer service was fantastic. We were basically there for about 3 hours. The happy hour selection is fantastic. But overall, I wouldn't give it such a high rating for the food.

As a true Chicagoan, I unfortunately have to start by saying the "Chicago-style" is a lie.

That said, it's still good pizza. It's really more like a fancied pan-pizza. It's light and fluffy, and definitely does not have too much cheese. The sauce is under the cheese, instead of of being on top a la Chicago. The crust is flakey and light, and delightfully greasy.

Old Chicago is a great place to hang out with a friend or two, eat some above average pizza and wash it down with some cold beers. The staff is friendly and there's plenty of TVs if you want to watch the game. The atmosphere is warm and almost divey, as its covered in lights.

And even though Old Chicago doesn't take me close enough to home, it gets brownie points for trying. I'm sure I'll come back at some point for brew and pie.

They have a pizza choice named after the restaurant, "Chicago". I normally favor NY style but when I have a hankering for great deep pan crust Old Chicago lives up to it's name.
I posted a yelp picture of it. Asking for extra sauce really makes the pizza.

Old Chicago - has a good solid menu and it is okay.  Service varies from time to time and this is not a place that I good if I'm in a hurry or need to make it to a movie.  However, after the movie would be a better choice.

The one thing that I don't like about Old Chicago as a whole is that they add new items to their menu - you try them and fall in love with them and then they are gone never to be seen from again.  This is a corporate issue not a store issue.

Old Chicago's deep dish pizza is awesome.  If you can't get to Chicago proper, this will do to tide you over until you can.

    Old Chicago - A Haiku

    Italian Nachos,
    Chicken and Cream Cheese Pizza
    And thank me later.

Old Chicago is one of my standards. Everywhere I have lived since college has been close to one. So I frequent them. I have completed the beer tour. Its like vanilla ice cream. Nothing flashy, but I dig it.

Everything here is pretty good. Pretty good pizza. Pretty good apps. Pretty good environment. Its a nice place to watch a game. Its just solid. You wont have a great meal here (unless your my friend Annie, to her, this place is meth), but you won't have a bad one either.

There is nothing wrong with solid. Solid gets it done most of the time.

LOCATION SPECIFICS: This particular Old C's is rough on weekends. They get a lot of teenagers from the movie theater up the way. Its got a good size bar (Golden Tee and Big Game Hunter). I dig the wait staff, very friendly. And the all you can eat pizza buffet lunch is a nice variety on a day that needs to involve gorging yourself on pizza. Solid spot right here.

Ahhhh, Ol' Cs.  Your corporate mediocrity just keeps getting better and better.  Well, maybe I'm being too harsh.  The pizza leftovers that I tried were pretty good but what I had for dinner was Bad, with a capital b (but you can already see that huh?!).  I wanted to try something I haven't had before (since I've been going here for 15 some-odd years now).  I went with the Vegetarian Chicago Seven Stromboli... Digustorama!  No flavor what-so-ever.  Even salt and pepper didn't help.  I should have sent it back and got a Calzone but I was too hungry to wait any longer for some food.

Our server was great and friendly but I'm so sick of  the bland 'corporate flavor' that is setting the dining standard in America... I think from now on if someone wants to go somewhere corporate I'll agree to go, and lick off the bathroom floor... I understand we're in a recession and all, but enough the rising of the prices and lowering of the food quality/flavor....

With that said.  Old Cs is a great place to go to drink some beer and shots and get some decent bar-type apps and watch some football.  Make sure that you have a slight buzz and the food will be excellent!

I'm from the Chicago area, so of course I don't think it is as good as our pizza, but they really try hard.  We had their calzones, which we tasty, and the wait staff was great.  It is located in Southlands, which has great shopping, so a good place to take a load off.

Of all of the OC's in town, the A-Crossing store is the one you'll find me at most of the time.

Great people, great brews, decent eats.

I better get a move on on that Holiday Tour!

I love the pizza rolls here and the Italian melt! This location wasn't anything special. I had to wait only a few minutes to be seated and the service was okay. I don't really care for the layout of this particular location, it feels a little cramped and dark. None-the-less, this place is a Colorado institution and I support locally grown businesses! The beer tour deal is pretty cool, if you like that sort of thing.

While Southland's OC is my main store, my second go to OC is the one on Parker and Arapahoe.  It is a bit bigger than Southlands and the bar area is nice for happy hours - pool table, booths, tables, etc.....And the beer selection is great (like all OCs), over 110 available :)

At this location in particular, I have also had their lunch time pizza bar and it is nice if you are hungry and in a rush.  It comes with a house salad, selection of pizza and other items and a dessert!  Nice for under $10.

Service is always a toss up at OC.  They seem to go through wait staff and it shows.

Bottom line:  Beer = Good (4 stars), Service = So-So (2 Stars), Food = Basic, but good (3 stars).

"So what beers do you have?"
    "We have lots of beers!"
For a split second I wondered what kind of answer that was from our waiter then he showed me the beer list and it made sense. The list was huge.

The wait staff was great. The 4 of us went for dinner after seeing "choke". Great movie by the way.

I wasn't feeling so hot so I went pretty basic. Chicken tenders and fries. The waiter asked if I wanted regular or buffalo and when I paused he said or I can just bring you a side of the buffalo sauce.. SCORE.. The food was very good and very large portions but remember I had something very very basic. About the only complaint I had was my house version of the long island iced tea. Not much alcohol and quite a bit of sweet and sour.

Overall the experience was good and I would eat there again.. and again.. and again.. and maybe next time.. I will even try the pizza.

Decor- and atmosphere-wise, Old Chicago is pretty blah. As soon as I walked through the door, I guessed that it was a chain (I didn't know this at the time). The menu is varied but pretty predictable - salads, sandwiches, fish and chips, pasta, burgers and steaks ($7 - $14). I guess the thing that sets it apart is their massive beer selection - all 110 of them!

We were seated quickly, and said what we wanted to drink. My water was brought immediately but he waited a good five minutes for his Guinness ($5.19)  to arrive. I ordered a side salad which was brought quickly but without onion and tomato. I really really hate onionless salad, so I sent it back. After an annoying ten minute wait, a fresh salad was delivered... with the addition of two - TWO! - measly cherry tomatoes. Ugh... "Where's the onion?" I asked the server. "The cook assures me there is onion in there," he replied. My last forkful contained the onion - a SINGLE ring of green onion. Wtf...

By this point, I was getting pissed off but luckily, the Stuffed Chicago Seven pizza arrived. Now I'm not a huge fan of deep dish/thick crust pizza but, damn this was good!! At $16.29, it isn't cheap, but it is absolutely chock full of mozz, peppers, onion, sausage, pepperoni, mushrooms and (eww) black olives. One pie is more than ample for two people (even for pigs like us). For dessert, he ordered an Orange Mango Dream Shot which was orange sherbert topped with fresh mango and cream. For only $1.99, this was a great little one-person dessert.

Despite the iffy service and family-oriented feel of the place, I would probably go back to OC for the pizza. The strombolis looked good too actually.

Great pizza,  but not worth the the price unless you are a wannabe  international beer connoisseur.   Regardless, the staff is friendly and helpful, and there is a sufficient  noise buffer between the dining area and bar area - great for family dining.

Great news is that the chain brings standards to all establishments... but it's at the expense of not having interesting food.

110 BEERS!  and GREAT PIZZA!  Is that enough to get you in?

    Happy Hour - 4-7PM and again at 10PM - 12AM.

Every day they have drink specials . . . .

The good looking bartender - Marc - is a special friend of mine . . . tell him I sent you.  At the very least it should get you a smile!  And if you are a cute "chicky-poo" it might get you more, who knows?

Not as awesome as it's more famous counterpart on Pearl Street in Boulder, but it's proximity to the house I grew up in makes this place pretty sweet!  Same food, same awesome beer selection, but less of a hike to my house than the one in Boulder.  The shorter the drunk walk, the better! I love Old C's!
