Four of us had a Sunday brunch. Beautiful day, nice breeze on the patio. The buffet had a variety of breakfast foods and fruits including omelets as well as seafood, meats, cheeses and vegetables for the lunch part of brunch.

The staff was attentive, unlike at some buffets. What's not to like?

I ate too much, but spaced it out over a couple of hours. Finished it off with a fresh-made crepe. Good place to dine for anyone who likes a Sunday buffet brunch!

A nice place to go for Mother's Day brunch. Good selection...something for everyone. All the usual suspects (bacon, sausages, eggs benedict) including some not so usual items like mini crab cakes (I think one of my sons had about a dozen of these) poached salmon, steak, delicious potatoes, omelet station, dessert bar and a cold table with a few salad choices along with seafood items and plenty of champagne. All in all a very enjoyable brunch. Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe the price was $42 per - which included coffee, OJ and other soft drinks...usually not included at other brunch spots. Service was professional and with our reservation (made before Easter) we were seated immediately. Indoor seating that flows outdoors and overlooks the lake of this very lovely golf course.

Went there today for their Sunday Brunch. Great service and atmosphere...but the food was not good. Lacked flavor and some of the hot items were room temperature. Unfortunatly, we were seated in the bar/lounge area where the chairs are not very comfortable. Not a place I would recommend for Brunch.

Two factors made me choose Arroyo Trabuco as our primary golf membership:

    1. The course is beautiful with nature all around you. (no homes lining the fairways)
    2. O'Neill's Bar and Grill has the BEST STAFF and delicious menu.

We love taking advantage of their happy hour and lounging within the bar area with Armando.  It always smells like a lodge because of the wood burning stone fireplace and that is a good thing! You really feel like you're in a private club without any pretentious snobby members.  Our favorite beer on tap is the Arroyo Trabuco Pale Ale which they discount to your final score if you play golf that day.  As far as menu items, we enjoy the clams with bread to dip, squash ravioli, smoked salmon pate, and the broccolini.  Their pizzas are also delicious and the 18" can feed up to 4 people if you will be drinking beer/wine with it.

We are here almost every week and all the friends we have taken here have had a great time.  The prices are moderate but you can also choose half portions of their entrees if you are on a budget.  Wednesday nights you can enjoy a complete dinner for 2 for $40!  This place is a true hidden gem.

My wife and I have said for months now "we have to try O'Neill's" and thankfully today we did. We've eaten at other golf courses around Mission Viejo, even though we don't play golf, just because they can be comfortable places to relax. O'Neill's has every bit of the atmosphere we were looking for but it was the food that blew us away.

We went for lunch, and were surprised by the number of appetizers, small plates, sandwiches, combinations and sides offered on the menu. We like to eat lite, share plates and try a variety of things so we ordered  a
    - half Grilled Romaine salad (charred, served with a slices of herb chicken breast)
    - Braised Lamb Stuffed Piquillo Pepper Sliders (with garlic aioli sauce..mmm)
    - half Napa Salad (with pecans, chicken, mandarin oranges and brie)
    - half Reuben (my favorite...it's a Reuben...but very flavorful)

We were really happy with the elevated flavors and presentation, not what we expected from a golf course restaurant. We ordered the flourless chocolate cake for dessert, served with ice-cream and raspberries...really nice!

The patio was well shaded by lots of umbrellas and had a wonderful view of the course and the natural landscape as well. Off to the side was a smoker (not the Marlboro kind, the kind that cooks meat) we had to ask what was in there. The waitress told us they smoke lots of their food onsite, and everything they serve is created from scratch right there, including the dressings and seasonings.

Bottom line, we were shocked by the food, the facility and the ease of access. You know when you're so happy you checkout the dinner menu, walk the grounds and talk about bringing friends there? That was us today. We'll be back, a lot.

Wow!  What a find!  Nestled next to a golf course in Mission Viejo, this location AND food can't be beat.  Sunday buffet brunch is outstanding!  Endless mimosas, prime rib carving station, ribs, omelettes  to order, fish  station with crab, large shrimp, oysters,  smoked salmon, and so much more!

We went there for Thanksgiving Brunch. The food was OK, but the offerings were very sparse for a holiday brunch. And as golfers finished their rounds, they would stand around drinking beer as everyone tried to enjoy their meal.

However, the real killer is that when we received our credit card statement, we were overcharged. Either they purposely added extra money to the bill after we signed for it or they made a mistake. We tipped well, so I doubt it was an issue of the waitress self-tipping. We contacted the restaurant several times, always being told to leave a message for the manager, which we did. Never once did they bother to call back.

Please be careful if you're using you credit card there. They seem to fly fast and loose. They certainly have no interest in making things right.

    Best hidden secret!!!
Came here for dinner for the first time. I was so impressed with the service and how attentive they were. The lobster was fantastic and the mussels were so flavourful. If you love blue cheese martini you must order.
Romantic fireside dinning in a quiet atmosphere. I will be returning many times.

We prefer nature over golf courses so didn't really expect to like this place, but we sat on the back patio and were won over by the cozy outdoor fireplace, beautiful non-golf-course view, and good food and drinks (only $4-$5 during happy hour). And fried pickles! Who woulda thunk? Like fried zucchini with a little sass. Good stuff.

Wow talk about a hidden gem! Even though I might be an avid golfer and foodie, I hardly ever find myself combining the two in a positive way. Today was an exception. After a somewhat tepid round of golf on their beautiful course I decided to stop in for a beer and some grub at their increasingly well-regarded 19th hole. I could not have been more impressed. First of all, their beer selection is second to none in south OC, thanks to the well-rounded palate of the Sous-Chef Matt. Beer is obviously not the only language he is fluent in as the lamb-stuffed piquillo pepper sliders and the chef's special seabass were both phenomenal plates of food. The fish was cooked so perfectly (which in my mind is a slight hint of fresh rawness in the very middle) and was paired excellently by Matt with one of their numerous sours: the shelton brothers drie fonteinen. A truly memorable meal and I will surely be back soon.

Had a special gathering with my sisters and mom for dinner. The service was terrific. The menu had unique appetizers that were quite gourmet. I ordered the grill salad which was different and delicious. The entrees were superb! The setting was beautiful accented with entertaining live background music. We had a lovely evening from start to finish!

Went on a Saturday Night in December 2011 to check this place out for my first time out in mission viejo ca-since I just moved there. The Bartender Armando is a great guy to talk to. Beer is great. The cook Jeff is an awesome guy. When I went they had someone playing the violen. Really laid back atmosphere. The bar is on a golf course.

very disappointed! we came for easter brunch. had to call down a waiter to get someone to serve our table 10 min. after we had been seated.  this was a champagne buffet brunch.  poor planning for the buffet line. people stand in the same line where people were getting their requested omlets made.  so if you wanted bacon/sausage ,potatoes , eggs benedict or slice roast, it was a wait because people were in the way of the buffet trays.
everything i had was barely luke warm! mac and cheese tasted day old.  for that matter everything tasted like yesterdays breakfast! the eggs benedict when finally replaced with a new tray was at best luke warm and the english muffin was doughy, didn't even seem slightly toasted!
to our surprise the price of brunch was $42! on website  it was posted as $32!  we made reservations for 10 and was not told the price change for easter brunch.
    never go ing back!

I was at the Arroyo Trabuco for a wedding, and was told we had a table reserved at O'Neill's.  I first judged the book by the cover: a golf club bar...  Must have Bud Light and that's about it.

I was pleasantly surprised!  They've got themselves some tasty options in this joint.  The Shipyard Smashed Blueberry was actually Amazing.  They've got a cool chalkboard thing going on which makes it feel homey in there.  Great seeing Stone in there amongst some other great microbreweries in California.

They even had a solid iced tea.  Now -- I didn't get a chance to eat much of the food -- but any place that offers the drinks that O'Neill's does will also have great food.  Attention to detail in a few key areas tends to mean attention to the other details too.

    Check this place out!

My husband and I had dinner here on a Wednesday night and took advantage of the Couples Prix Fix Menu. The salad was decent, nothing special. I had the seared ahi tuna and my husband had the beef stroganoff. Mine was much better than his. The noodles for the stroganoff were stuck together in layers, like they had not been separated while boiling. Overall, the main courses were just average. However, the dessert was horrible. There were two choices, a tart with vanilla ice cream, or a butterscotch pudding. We went with the tart, and it was described by husband as dried trail mix pressed into a tart pan. They forgot to bring the ice cream, which we noted, so it was brought out later. But even that didn't help the dessert. The ice cream was not as good as what you can buy in the store and definitely wasn't able to make up for the sub-par tart. We would not go back. So many places you can get better food for the same or less $$.

Oh, and we made reservations for 7:00 pm, but we were one of 3 couples in the whole restaurant.

In addition to working IT in the healthcare industry, I teach motorcycle safety for Saddleback Rider Training. Most people just say that I teach MSF which just means I'm in instructor who implements the Motorcycle Safety Foundation's curriculum adopted by the state.

Anyway - that just means that I get to be a part of multiple Christmas celebrations!

Last night, SRT (Saddleback Rider Training) took it's instructors and their +1's to O'Neill's Bar and Grill for dinner. It was a most excellent time.

For dinner, here's what I had: Hearts of Romaine with aged blue cheese, toasted walnuts, sun dried cherries and balsamic vinaigrette. If you like cheese, the aged blue cheese will be nice and strong. If you don't - just push it to the side. As for the rest of the toppings, they went so well together that I didn't want to switch off with my date who opted for the butternut squash soup. Nice and creamy - there was a taste I enjoyed but couldn't put my finger on it and forgot to ask. I did clear the bowl with the sour dough bread left out for the table though. :-)

For my main selection I chose the brown sugar maple pork chop with whipped boursin cheese and chive potatoes, green asparagus and baby carrots. The pork chop was to die for. A very generous cut, tender and juicy (hate dried pork chops) that just complimented the rest of the dish perfectly. Again, both my date and I preferred my dish over hers - she chose the baked macadamia nut crusted mahi mahi. I felt her dish emphasized the crust too much and not enough fish. In fact, if put to blind taste test, I wouldn't have guessed fish, first.

For dessert I had a creme bulee. Nothing to write home about.

The service was awesome. I didn't ask the server's name but I wasn't left waiting for anything including water. He was friendly, helpful and very attentive considering his table had a party of 12. I can't speak for the other table.

I also enjoyed the ambiance. I'm guessing it would have been an awesome view of the valley and country club had it not been so dark out. The word I'd use to describe the place is like a "lodge". There's a lounge with a fireplace as well as bar seating and the dining area is pretty intimate. By that I mean small. Not so much so that it didn't accommodate our large party - but ours did pretty much take up most of the restaurant.

Excellent food. Excellent service. Excellent company and an excellent time!

I went here last night for dinner.  This place was overall fantastic.  The bar has been revamped and now they have nothing but fine beers on tap, no bud, miller, coors.  They also have a great bottle list.  The service was fantastic and the food was some of the best in South Orange County.  You must check them out.  They also serve lunch!

Great destination for Monday night football!!  This is Arroyo Trabuco Golf Club's bar and restaurant. They have recently upgraded their beer selection and it is great. This is reason enough to give it a try, but they also have a great deal going on now. A  Craftsman burger and brew for $9.99!! you can build your own or select from a number of chef's selections as well. I have been there a few times and each time I have tried a different burger, they have all been great. Now to the best part. THE BEER. They change beers frequently and they offer 4 pairings each week with the burger menu. My last visit offered the following: Allagash Dubbel,  Uinta Dubhe Imperial Black IPA,Green Flash West Coast IPA.  Hard to beat this for burger and beer lovers like us . They have more taps as well, so you will have no trouble finding a beer of your liking!

Definitely come for the view on the patio. Killer view of the course. Food is about a 3.5/5 and service is decent. Perfect atmosphere on a mild summer or fall evening. If there were half stars in the ratings, this would be a 3.5.

Actually, I found it quite disappointing.  Nice location, good atmosphere.  The drinks were adequate.  The food was below average.   I always wonder.... In such a wonderful location, why would one serve such ordinary food?  No reason to go back...

I came here for lunch with a friend because I had bought a GROUPON for this location. The drive was very peaceful and the restaurant was located in the heart of a golf course/club. Upon walking in, we were greeted by a very young fine lady. She welcomed us and walked us to your table. She sat us by the outdoor patio, where we were able to have a great view of the golf course. Our server than came and gave us the menu. The funny thing was that I knew right off the bat that she was new because of how nervous she was. My party and I ordered a few drinks (they even had some speciality beers), and two entrees. It did take some time to make the meal, but the WAIT WAS WORTH IT! We ordered a steak and bbq ribs entree.

This was my first time dining at a private golf club, and I was very happy with my first time experience. The architecture and the surrounding was gorgeous....couldn't have asked for a better place to take a girl out on a date.

In addition, the menu price was decent. Since Im a young child, I probably wont end up coming back here...ONLY BECAUSE I DONT HAVE THAT MUCH MONEY!!

But...if another groupon appears for this location...I WILL DEFINITELY HOP ON IT!

    UNTIL THEN!! ^-^

Came here for lunch for a work appointment.  Food was very good, I had the burger which was delicious.  The view is outstanding and the service is friendly.  Will definitely come back here again for lunch, drinks after golf, or for Sunday brunch.  The salads and the prime rib sandwich looked very good as well.

Located at Trabuco Canyon Golf course I say this was 4 1/2 stars, I came here for Sunday brunch with friends after seeing it on their website.
I made reservations  earlier in the week and we dined Alfresco with a view of the 18th finishing hole.

For around $30.00 I got unlimited OJ & coffee ($2.00 add for champagne) and a very nice spread of food. There were various salads, an omelet station, sausage and bacon, waffles, mole, smoked prime rib & smoked tri tip, crab legs, oysters on the half shell, shrimp, Ahi, and for dessert made to order crepes, cake, cookies, chocolate dipped strawberry's and a variety of other sweets.

My favorites were at the seafood station - especially the oysters, Ahi, shrimp and the crab was decent too, Smoked prime rib was also yummy tasting was smoked on their outdoor smoker.

The service by our waiter was good overall and another plus was the live music outdoors. I'd reccomend this brunch when your in the area for the quality and nice atmosphere.

It takes a lot for me to complain, but after tonight's dinner at O'Neill's, I have to let it out.  S l o w  ... service.  Had to ask twice for bread, and when it arrived, it was stale.  My Niece ordered the Chicken Pot Pie and it was still FROZEN.  The Piaia was tepid and tasteless.  The Beef Stroganoff was tepid and tasteless.  The only thing that was edible were the French Fries.  Even the Ice Tea had no taste.  Watered down. I had coffee after dinner and it tasted liked it had been brewed 12 hours earlier.  Burnt and bitter.  The building and the view are beautiful, but the food really sucked!

    I absolutely luv this place!
If I was dating this would be a great date spot!
the architecture is beautiful, the scenery is gorgeous and the food is amazing!  I always feel like i am in central california here at a winery.
We do a lot of weddings here, (im a florist) so a handful of times we have finished setting up and gone over for dinner at the bar.
Every time every thing i have ordered has been delicious!
Especially the truffle butter mashed potatoes!
I know they have live music here too,a buffet and a barbeque going too during the day.
I would luv to go back and try those out.

So imagine: it's early March, the sun is shining and the air is crisp but warm. We were searching for a place that served a Sunday Brunch buffet and found ourselves at O'neill's. The setting couldn't have been any better! It's located on a golf course and the outdoor seating overlooks the nearby hills and the green. Live music from a solo musician enhanced the casual and friendly atmosphere.

Now let's get to the food. First let me say that brunch is one of my favorite meals and a champagne brunch buffet is like Christmas for my taste buds. O'neill's definitely did not disappoint. There were a broad selection of appetizers and entrees, including some of my favorites: fresh oysters on a half shell, crab legs, blue cheese mac and cheese and prime rib. I had to pace myself so that I had enough room for everything!

The servers were friendly and attentive, making sure that your mimosas were never short of champagne. It's a great place to eat and enjoy the scenery. Cheers!

OC Restaurant Week with my co-workers. Super nice view of the golf course. Super relaxing spot to get away from the office.

    3 course pre-fixe menu

Kung Pao Calamari or French Onion Soup
    Manhattan Steak or Veggie Sandwich
    Cherry Chocolate Tart

The French Onion Soup was disgusting. I hated it. I returned it for the Kung Pao Calamari. It was good and a very large portion. The veggies on top were not pickled though so it definitely was not true in Asian flavors. I got the steak medium rare. It was ok. Nothing spectacular. The aioli sauce served on the side was not an aioli. It was way too creamy and had a weird aftertaste. The tart was ok. I am not a fan of dried cherries in my dessert so it was eh for me.

Overall, LOVED the ambiance. But the pre-fixe menu was a flop. Since this place is a bar/grill I should of went with a hamburger. They have $8 burger specials on Thursdays. Maybe I shall return........for a round of golf too???

This has to be one of the best dining locations in south OC.
Everything was impeccable: the parking, the architecture, the feel upon entering, the hostess' greeting, the service of the wait staff, the views, the MUSIC, and the food. I was truly impressed!
This was the first dining experience in a long while, where all aspects of the restaurant came together to compose a graceful whole. Everything was cross-complimentary.
If you can handle the calories, try the prime cheese burger and their own brew. The smell of real BBQ added greatly to the out-door lunch.

    Excellent!

I LOVE this place for Sunday buffet brunch!!   I haven't dined here for lunch or dinner - just their Sunday brunch.   The views are incredible - especially on a clear day.  I love sitting on the patio and taking in the views of the hills and golf course.   And the food is always delicious.  They have a great variety at the buffet - including a terrific seafood selection: shrimp cocktail, chilled king crab legs, and fresh oysters on the half shell.   I also enjoy their cooked selections, which varies week to week.  There is also a crepes station for dessert.  YUM!!

Service is friendly and efficient.    I really think this place is a hidden gem!  I really love the atmosphere & food. The price is a lot less than the hotel buffet brunches in the area, which is a plus!

Hotdogs at the turn are now an artform here at O'Neill's.  Try their tortilla soup to begin a great meal.  This place has a Champagne Bunch on Sundays and if you golf you get it for only $14.99...that's all you can eat and includes the sushi bar.  The decor is more frat boy meets the country club chic but the view is nice on the outdoor patio.  Best of the best is their glorious, toe curling BBQ.  I had an outerbody experience while eating the pulled pork sandwich...amazing!

Cool hidden Retsaurant/Bar located at the end of Avery Parkway right on the Arroyo Trabuco golf course..

Headed here after eating dinner on Saturday night for drinks. Its like stepping back in time with a very serene atmosphere and very scenic outdoor seating. Heat lamps everywhere and a fireplace for those who are so inclined.

Very quiet and great for a romantic date night. Our waitress was super friendly and the drink prices were very reasonable.

O"Neill's has taken it to the next level on special events. Case in point-St Patrick's Day and Easter.

O'Neill's was decked out in all it's Irish glory for this past St Patrick's day. Green beer, corned beef and cabbage, Irish band and dancer's, kid running all over the place and families having a great time on the patio and lawn. It was a brilliant evening to spend with friends and family and away from all the drunken hordes at most bars on this night.

For Easter they did up a great Sunday brunch with tons of great food and all the champagne you could drink. In addition, they had the Easter bunny and an Easter egg hunt for the kids. The best part was relaxing on their huge patio, sipping champagne while the kids played on the lawn. Good times!

By the way, they have a regular Sunday brunch every week.

My husband and I enjoyed dinner here during OC Restaurant Week.  For $20pp, we each enjoyed an appetizer, entree, and dessert.  For the appetizer I had the tomato bruschetta (okay) and my husband had the rosemary braised bacon (really delicious).  For the entree I had the filet mignon (very, very good) and he had the chilean sea bass (also very good).  The dessert was an orange gran marnier mousse cake and it was a little too rich for our liking.  All in all, a high quality dinner for an outstanding price.  I can't wait to eat here again.  Atmosphere is laid-back, not overly stuffy.

I have been here MANY times. This is my 'home' golf course. The service can be hit or miss. They know me there now, and I think as a result of that, I get better service from the servers that know me. The food is good IMO. Better than average. They have very good soups. I recommend the French Dip, the Burger, Ceviche, Sliders - pork or beef, and ask Roberto to get your drinks..he is heavy handed withe liquor.

Sunday brunch is good. I have not been in a while. They have live entertainment, my favorite singer was Don Duncan. I am not sure he is there anymore, last I saw him he said he was not. But the brunch has a chocolate fountain, waffle / egg bar, prime rib hand carved.. lots of good stuff. The service at brunch is usually OFF - read that slow.  The outside patio sits on the 18th hole, and its really beautiful.

They have live jazz music Friday / Saturday nights. They also serve a good menu breakfast. I notice a lot of parties / showers / weddings being held here. They have other facilities / outbuildings for that. They always look nice, the parking lot is a decent size. I recommend.

we came here for my grandma's birthday last night and the 12 of us were the only people in the restaurant.  even so, i think we were quite a handful.  with 2 babies and 2 toddlers, things were getting pretty out of control and the staff handled it extremely well.  they were so helpful that we gave them a very hefty tip.  my waitress even brought out the box of noodles so i could check to make sure they were vegan.  i asked for the angel hair pasta (which was supposed to include a pomodoro type sauce) with veggies.  she asked which veggies and i said broccoli, asparagus, and peppers and onions.  my food came out and it was a bunch of pasta with carrots, green beans (i don't like green beans!), and sqaush.  there wasn't even any sauce on it.  so i asked for salsa, and that spiced it up a little but it still wasn't that great.

the house cabernet was 14 hands (my mom kept calling it "14 huns") and it was really good.  i'm not much of a red wine drinker but i enjoyed it.

everyone kept raving about the beautiful view, but really... it's just a golf course, i don't get it.  i mean, it's nice, but it's just a bunch of grass.

the chairs were too tall for my legs!  my feet dangled so i ended up sitting cross-legged in the chair.  comfort over table manners, i always say.

really, the only thing that would be worth coming here for is the great staff.  they were so pleasant even when it was nearing closing time and we were all running around with the kids.  plus, i had this like major crush on our waitress and i think i kept accidentally flirting with her in front of my grandma.

The food was better than alright.
We got there about 1 pm. We had a Tee time at 3. So we had a very late brunch.
Our table was out on the patio over looking the 17th and 18th hole with the lake in the center. Breath taking.
We ordered our drinks and went to get our food.
Decent selection of pastas, sashimi and sushi,  fresh fruits and salads. A nice set up are where they make you your omelets and pancakes fresh. A wide array of desserts. And my ever favorite sea food. Raw oysters, crab claws and shrimp. All you can eat.
The quality of the food was decent.
The service was friendly, (except for one person. you know the one. the one you can tell who hates her job. yeah, that one.) and courteous.
And the price, well. You see...if you have reservations to play or already  played at the course. Well, the buffet price is only 15$ per person. Pretty good, huh?
Yeah, wait till you see the fees for playing. Yikes!
So ... other than the crusty girl. It was pretty good dining experience there.
