My family has been eating Oscar's Foods products my entire life. Tocino, longanisa, lumpia and of course the lechon, can always be found packed away in my mom's freezer or served up and ready to eat at our many family parties. The quality and taste of their products have always been consistent and delicious, which is what keeps my family loyal to Oscar's!

one day after waking up at a friend's house after a night of partying I woke up to the smell of sweet tocino and tapa. I couldn't believe my friend was cooking some authentic filipino food. After eating three servings of tocino, tapa and rice I had to ask him where he got it from. He said it's from this place in Chicago called Oscar's foods.  I asked him if I can get some delivered and he said they deliver. So whenever I feel like having some good authentic filipino food or when a family party is coming up, I'll place an order.

The longanesa is off the hook - not like others where its almost all fat. The taste is sweet but not too sweet - just sweet enough, perfect. I recently just tried the lumpia, also good but I still prefer the classics - tocino, tapa and longanesa.

So if you're not from Chicago and you want some authentic, good, bring you back to the days when you were young filipino food - I suggest you order some tocino, tapa and longanesa from Oscar's Foods.

    Oscar's, you still exist?!

I'm surprised I'm not entirely "taba" (translation: FAT) from the stuff my family would buy from you....but then we got lazy, sort of stopped cooking and hence why I am now an avid Yelper!

I remember being as tall as a top-lid freezer when I would come with my parents to buy frozen meat here. We would always get tocino (sweet pork), longanisa (sweet sausage), lumpia (eggrolls), atchara (pickled papaya) and chicharon (fried pork skin) here.

I also recall that Oscar's was the only place that sells lechon (big, honkin' roasted pig. Yes, the entire pig).

I think we stopped buying from Oscar's directly because Oscar's also distributes to the local Filipino grocery stores.

Oscar's, I'd give you more stars, but I haven't been to your store in over 10 years so it's hard to say if you're still the same. But you're a loved fixture in Chicago!
