Thought I'd try this place since it was opened by a chef that worked at Colony and was actually threatened with a lawsuit for having similar pizza. It's thin pizza but that's where the similarity ends. Colony is unique and what they make isn't what I would consider pizza but it is tasty. It's razor thing, crispy and has light sauce and cheese. It is more like a very tasty cracker than a pizza. It comes in one size, it's all they serve and it's cooked in an old style brick oven. Outpost is the complete opposite, which would be fine except that it isn't good at all. The sauce is way too sweet, the crust is floppy and not crisp. The hot oil was not very good at all. Salad & bread was better. Pizza not recommended. A previous reviewer said that comparing this pizza to Colony isn't fair except this is the second place in Stamford trying to emulate the thin, hot oil, pizza made famous by Colony Grill. It is fair to compare it with Colony as well other pizza places and it simply isn't good. Tomato sauce should never be sweet, pizza should be crisp when it's thin, not floppy and soggy, and although the cheese was light the flavor didn't go with the sauce at all. Just not good. If you want super thin pizza go to Colony or Amore's on Hope Street. Both of those places are much better!
Review Source:If this is the best pizza in the state I'm in trouble. Â The slices were cut wrong service was okay and of an overall the pizza tasted like it was made by Sauce from a can. Â I am still trying to find the best pizza place in Connecticut if you guys know any near the Stamford area please give me a shout. Â Thanks
Review Source:Their pizza, apps and entree dishes all have a fulfilling taste. Their wing appetizers always arrive crispy. Their lasagna hits home every time! When im sick and in need of chicken noodle soup, Outpost is the first place in mind. Service is on the ball. Fresh food, great service and fast delivery.
Review Source:Outpost is the best pizza in town. Â There, I said it. No, it's not Colony, it's Outpost. Great flavor, great crust, great cheese to sauce ratio. Not too greasy. Â Service is great. Â What more can you say, I mean it's pizza. Oh, one more thing, they put Kalamata olives on their pizza. Â Nice touch. Love it.
Review Source:Love. Outpost. It's gotta be some of the best pizza in the area, I'm not sure what it is... maybe their sauce to cheese ratio, maybe their crust, maybe the way they slice their toppings, but every time it is delicious. This past weekend I was with friends ordering pizza and I stuck Outpost out there saying it was great. When the pizza arrived, I was getting high fives all over the place. Try the cherry peppers as a topping. Eff yea! $18 for two large pies!
Also, I noted below that a reviewer was comparing Outpost to Colony. Can't even be compared. Colony is fantastic... but it is a different kind of pizza altogether. That's like comparing regular pizza to Chicago style pizza. Two totally different entities.
I love Outpost Pizza, and i know a lot of people who love it too!!! Great food, my favorite Dean Martin wrap, very yummy, Caesar salad with grilled chicken or Garden Salad that comes with homemade bread and dressing (so delicious), Â Buffalo wing are great, pizza is awesome (for those who loves thin crispy crust). This pizza place is the best place in Stamford!!!
Review Source:By default we ordered Outpost Pizza (only because Colony Grill doesn't deliver) last night for dinner and boy that accident should have never happened. Â
Not wanting to leave the apartment because of the cold and rain, my best friend and I ordered delivery from Outpost Pizza. Â After that experience, I don't care if there is a blizzard outside, I will walk in my underwear to pick up Dominos than have Outpost again.
We ordered: pizza salad, zanzabar pizza, garlic bread, and chili chesse fries.....no, no, hell no, and ok. Â
Sorry Outpost. Â Change your recipes or risk losing all your customers. Â I have no idea what to say when your chili cheese fries taste better than your pizzas. Â
Yelpers, I'm not from the Stamford area but according to my best friend Colony Grill has the best pizza around. Â Eat there instead of Outpost!
