I wasn't sure what to expect after being panhandled while getting out of car parked in front of the restaurant, but walking in, the place looked comfortable and inviting. We were joining friends who were already seated, so we did not have to wait for a table. Others who came in saw no wait either, as the staff was pretty quick to accommodate.
The service was very friendly, and it was easy to communicate. When I asked our server if there was cream in the dish I wanted, he was quick to refer me to a similar dish that had no cream. I appreciated that.
The food was pretty good. I tend to prefer more of a Southern Indian style and Indo Chinese over the Northwestern style, but it tasted like it was prepared properly. It came at a decent temperature, and the portion size was appropriate.
My only real complaint about this place is that they spray window cleaner on the tables while you are dining. I am allergic to ammonia, so this is particularly troublesome for me, but even if I wasn't, I would not want to be breathing in window cleaner while trying to enjoy my meal. I much prefer when servers either spray into their towels in a manner that prevents any mist from flying around or even better, having the towel ready to use before even entering the dining room. But the whole spraying the entire table down while customers are sitting next to it? Don't do that!
The prices were reasonable, and again, the service was really attentive and friendly. I appreciated that they didn't hover, but they also made sure that our needs were met. When we were leaving, our server asked us to make sure to vote for them as best in New England or some vote thing that was going on.
Would I go back? To hang out with this group of friends again, yes! To go just me and my husband? No. The window cleaner thing for me is enough to keep me away, but even if that wasn't an issue, there are places closer to home that I like a lot more. If I lived nearby? Yes. I would probably order takeout to avoid the window cleaner, though.
