Hands down the best Pho around town. No nonsense Pho, no spring rolls or summer rolls to deal with. Simple one page menu just the Pho and drinks. I grew up with Pho 75. Their broth is very distinctive compared to all others in the area. Other Pho joints don't come close to it. Only homemade Pho is king! but Pho 75 chain tops them all.
Be careful at what time you go there on the weekends. Lunch time can be hectic. The line can stretch out the door. Usually from 10:30am to 1pm. You will have to wait a good 15-30 mins but the line moves. Sundays have been a tradition for me to go there for some good wholesome Pho at Pho 75!
After almost three years of not dining here, I decided to give Pho 75 another shot since Carly C wanted to go.
Same format as it has always been. Â Plain, cafeteria style seating with a short menu consisting of different combinations of pho. Â I order the regular bowl number 1 with came with sliced steak, well done flank, fatty brisket, meatballs, tripe, and soft tendon along with a hot coffee with condensed milk. Â Carly ordered the number 14 with steak and brisket. Â
Broth was much better than I remembered. Â There was also a generous amount of meat, particularly the steak and brisket. Â I remember a long time ago they would skimp on the cuts. Â Not anymore it seems. Â The coffee was also excellent as well, about the same quality as I've had from Huong Viet and other places at Eden Center.
Carly also mentioned how much she loved her bowl and tasted a few of the other cuts from mine. Â Personally I think a regular size bowl is enough but the large is only about a $1 more.
Total bill was about $20 for two. Â Although not as good as Huong Viet in my opinion. Â Pho 75 has been redeemed in my eyes. Â Just remember to bring cash.
** 3.75 stars. Â To be fair, I should point out that my partner (who eats red meat) ordered the #12 (with steak and brisket) gave it 5 stars. I do not eat meat and so I had the plain noodles. Â After a heavy dose of hoisin and sirracha, the broth developed nice flavor. Â But without it, it was pretty bland. Â Unfortunately, they do not offer a seafood option. Â Fortunately, Pho Sate does. Â And that's why they are my new favorite. Â But if you eat meat, you will be quite pleased with Pho 75.
Review Source:one of the best pho places around. they pretty much only have pho and the different drinks. but the quality of the broth is amazing, and this location gives you a lot more food than the rosslyn location. watch out though - if you come during lunch time on the weekends, most likely there will be a line, but it moves pretty fast.
Review Source:Years ago, this was my main pho restaurant. Â Fast service and the pho came out piping hot and yummy. Â It's a great place to go to if you're in a hurry but if you still want to sit down and eat. Â You're basically "in and out". Â But lately I've noticed the broth has been hit or miss. Â I will still come by and eat here occasionally...especially because they sell the pink jello dessert that I love so much.
Don't forget: Â CASH ONLY :)
Good pho. Â 5th or 6th place we've tried so far. Â Their menu is simple, appears to only offer beef. Â can choose different meat options and add on. Â Service is quick and broth is good. Â We went in about noon on a Sunday, grabbed last available table, was out of there by 12:45. Â They only take cash.
Review Source:Not sure why it escaped me to ever write a review on this place, but here goes. Â I like it. Â Good stuff. Â This is the original formula that brought Pho to the US. Â I'm able to eat here only once or twice a year when I come home to visit, but I always make sure to stop in.
In general the pho is delicious and filling and I always want more in a day or two. Â But. Â I have been coming here for years and the main problem is that it is not consistent. Â Some days I'll come in and immediately think 9/10. Â Other days (as in today) I thought maybe a 6 or 7. Â Bummer when you come in to get that 9 or 10 star soup and you get a "meh"
In comparison, the pho I have in Chicago is very consistent, but has never been as good as Pho 75 on a 9 or 10 star day. Â I wish this place could deliver the top tier soup every time. Â However... I'm still going to come in here whenever I'm home.
This place is exactly what you want in a Pho diner: lots of choices about the cuts of beef in the pho, reasonable prices ($8 for a very large portion), and extremely fast service. It's clear that they prepare a large amount of pho at a time and add the cuts on the spot.
The portions are large and the soup is hearty. This is the best pho I've had in the area as of December 2012 and I highly recommend this place.
It is cash only!
apparently is the same chain as the one i used to frequent in philly. Â good spot, better than any ever in nyc. Â lots of people, fast service. Â typical vietnamese pho shop with many other options on menu to supplement ur pho.
ordered the special. Â comes with more tai meat than anything, but no meatballs. Â the noodles tasted a lil off for me... like clumpy floury. Â regardless i engulfed it. Â the soup was slightly on the less fragrant side and more bland than what i remember but not terrible.
vietnamese coffee was perfect portion of condense milk to coffee...
bathrooms are clean. Â
parking lot is small but plenty of space, traffic seems to be pretty plentiful in this tiny lil shoppiing center.
Man. This place is amazing. Simply amazing. Not all Pho 75's are alike. Compared to the one in Maryland (Rockville), this broth is deep, flavorful, and delicious. The meats are well prepared, the ice coffee rocks, and the noodles are awesome.
Interior is typical. The service is typical. The pho? Amazing. Sumbuuudyy smack me in the face so amazing.
Easy 5 stars. Wish it was closer to me.
This has been a go to place for a good bowl of pho for years. The broth is good, it's always packed, the accounting is questionable (cash only) and service is fast as lightning. I usually come here in the morning after a long night and the place is always packed. The only complaint I have is that I wish they serve something other than pho like Crispy Rolls.
Review Source:If you want good Pho this is the place . Its not about ambiance or friendly service....its all about the pho!! This is the only place I will eat Pho . I've been eating here for years and will continue . Dont go in with high expectations on decor or service because you will be upset  as they dont need to impress you with that stuff. The big bowl of delicious noodle soup is why you will keep going back after your first visit.
Review Source:My first experience with Pho 75 was a pre-Yelp visit to the store on Wilson Blvd. Â Three years later, after acquiring more data points on the local pho scene, I went back to Pho 75; however, this time it was the one in Falls Church. Â The Falls Church store mimicked the design sensibility of the Wilson Blvd store with its community tables and largely unadorned off-white painted walls. Â What the dining room lacked in aesthetic beauty, it made up with its namesake dish. Â
I had a large bowl of Chin, nam gau, gan, sach. Â It was good-sized and priced competitively. Â In many cases, it was even less expensive than its competitors. Â Pho 75's stock was light brown, flavorfully meaty with a minimal sheen of oiliness giving it a pleasing appearance. Â The stock was replete with Asian spices, which were noticeably present and well balanced in the meaty stock, giving it amazing aromatics and accent to its flavor. Â The bowl had a generous amount of noodles, which were cooked to a nice al dente. Â The biggest surprise was the quantity and quality of the meat add-ins. Â The well-done brisket and flank and the fatty brisket was remarkably tender, flavorful, and plentiful. Â The standard plate of fresh jalapeno, basil, sprouts, and lime add-ins accompanied the pho.
I hate to jinx this place by making this declaration, but from all angles, Pho 75's pho is superior to anything I've yet experienced. Â My new favorite pho joint...Pho 75.
As a kid my dad dragged my sister and I here every Sunday after church to get a steaming bowl of pho. Â And boy did I hate those trips. Why couldn't we get McDonalds or Dunkin Donuts after church like regular people? And why did we have to drive alllllllll the way out from Centreville to Falls Church for a stinking (literally) bowl of noodle soup?
Well time has past and as I have gotten older my palettes have changed and boy do I love my pho! Â Pho Sate is my main stay but since they are currently closed for renovations, I decided to check out my old stomping ground. Â 20 years later...it still looks exactly the same. Â Cafeteria style tables, one page menu, bland white walls, and long lines of hungry Vietnamese families.
My boyfriend and I sandwiched ourselves between a big family and an elderly couple and helped ourselves to a bowl of pho! The result? Clean beefy broth, lots of fresh noodles, and a heaping pile o' meat! To quote Rachael Ray, "Yum-o!"
When I was leaving I caught a familiar scene: Â a father with his two kids sitting at a table by the window. Â The dad was happily slurping away, reading his Vietnamese newspaper. Â The two kids were looking exasperated and the younger girl was complaining that there was "green stuff" floating in her broth. Â I laughed and went on my merry little way....give these kids 15 years and they will be Pho 75's most loyal customers.
This place just doesn't cut the sriracha for me anymore. Â It's always a little bit dingy and dirty. Â And the broth, OH the broth...I was actually looking around for a salt shaker to give it a boost. Â Very lacking in flavor. Â Which is odd since the 75 in Arlington is SO good. Â If you need pho in Falls Church head to Pho Sate or better yet, but the big EC (Eden Center) ;)
Review Source:I thought that pho was pretty good. Â Not great, but good. Â I have had my fair share of pho, as I grew up in an asian neigborhood in LA. Â To me a good bowl of pho is due to the flavor of the broth and the freshness of the ingredients. Â I thought the flavor of the broth was tasty, but I have definitely had better. Â The noodles and rare beef were very good, but the bean sprouts were not fresh and had a brown color to them.
Overall a good place, but I am sure there are better places out there.
If you like Vietnamese noodle soups, this restaurant is worth your time. Â The serving size tends to be a bit larger than the one on Wilson Blvd. Â The windows had some condensation on it them and the bathrooms seemed a little cleaner than the one on Wilson. Â This is a cash only business.
Review Source:I always tell people that Pho 75 is at least 25 better than Pho 50 (that's a good joke, and you know it). The broth here is amazing. I've only been to maybe 4 or 5 other places, but this place is head and shoulders above. A large serving comes to $8.14 (with tax) and is served in a bowl roughly the size of a family-sized salad at an Italian restaurant. Don't plan on tarrying though. You get seated and they ask you what you want at the same time. Roughly 45-90 seconds later, a giant bowl of pho comes out. As a testament to how good this place is, I went the other day when it was 104 degrees outside and it was packed. If that doesn't tell you how good the soup is, I don't know what would.
Review Source:As for as Pho goes in the region there can only be one and Pho75 is the standard by which all is compared too. This non-descript restaurant with metal style table and chairs always has a line out the door during lunch or even dinner. While they have several locations around the NOVA area, I think the one in Falls Church is still the best of them.
The service is quick. Be prepared to order. The broth is flavorful and amount of meat to noodles is just right. They also make great che. The price of Pho has gone up over the years and it is just still on the cusp of cheap eats.
There is a reason why Pho 75 has over 110 reviews and still maintains a four star rating. Â It is that good. Â I know everyone has their own taste on pho, but in my opinion this place has the best pho in Northern Virginia (including those fancy restaurants in Eden Center). Â I was first introduced to Pho75 a long time ago when I was dating a Vietnamese and she wanted to introduce me to a popular dish. Â I just got lucky to start off with the best.
It takes up all of my lunch break at work to get to this restaurant and back in time and they only take cash. Â But all the inconveniences are worth it because I have never found a better pho near Tysons Corner / Merrifield / Vienna / Falls Church.
With pho it's all about the broth, the right consistancy and flavor takes a skill and art that is usually passed on from families through the generations. Â Their portions are enormous for the price - don't get the large unless you intend to share! Â All of the meats and vegetables are clean, fresh and crisp whether to go or dine in.
The restaurant itself is a dive.  It looks rather seedy and actually pretty reminiscent of establishments you might find in-country off the streets of Saigon.  The majority of  patrons are Vietnamese which is always a good sign of authenticity.  If you want to get a really great bowl of pho, this is my personal top recommendation for the Northern Virginia area.
The best Pho is the area: better than 50, better than Hot, and WAY better than anything DC has to offer. Â It is a no nonsense kind of place. Â If you don't have a bowl of pho in front of you after 10 minutes of enter the restaurant, go check to make sure the servers are conscious. Â This is the kind of place you see Vietnamese families go for pho. Â The hoisin or sriracha 't come in squeeze bottles, which I believe is the universal sigh of authenticity. Â You can try ordering the pickled lemonade if you're feeling brave. Â "Don't worry, it's supposed to look like that." Â Just remember to bring cash, no card machines at this place. Â Also, don't wait at your table for them to take the check. You'll be waiting a long while because payment is up at the register.
Review Source:Ahh the recent of my childhood till well about now. An excellent place to just get a good cheap meal. Although I could ramble about the restaurants in a manner similar to the other reviews I shall let the inspiration that guided me during my English paper speak for itself.
I step through the front door and am immediately confronted with an array of wonderful aromas taking me on a voyage to all the corners of the world. The flooring is a faded white tile worn in like that overused, yet oh so comfortable, couch every family seems to have in their family rooms. We are motioned by the waiter to take our seats under a giant water color portrait of a rice field, "just like home" my dad says. As I wait for my menu the rhythmic caching of the cash register helps to settle me in like a soothing lullaby. Â
After only a few moments the garnishes come out on a platter, a dazzling artist palette of colors laid out decoratively on the plate. Only a few moments later an angelic figure emerges from the kitchen carrying bringing us the good news, our food is here. The aroma from the Pho parading around me is only the prelude to the show ahead. As I take my first bite a symphony of flavors overwhelms my senses. The amalgam of spices and flavors harmonize producing a soothing broth that quells my hunger. The piping hot broth warms me up like a roaring fireplace. The concerto that always ends too soon finishes with the slurping of the last noodles and a thunderous applause from my stomach.
Love the pho and jello drink here but after today... I am not coming back, ever...
Gross, Gross, Gross! An inch long dirty finger nails and a mile long strings of random and visible facial hairs on servers...their thumbs deep into the vegetable plate and also into the soup bowl...
Arlington location is cleaner...
Pho 75 serves food like a typical pho place - minimal decorations, cash only, Â and really fast and efficient service. If I'm sick or if I'm cold I prefer Pho 50's heavier broth, but for warmer weather I prefer Pho 75's lighter, herb-infused broth. Their pho is standard quality and veggies have always been fresh.
Don't forget to bring cash. It's kind of annoying if you don't, since you have to cross the street and go to 7-11 or Giant if you've run out.
I love this location! Â
I live a few miles from this Pho 75 and sometimes I just want to eat without having to bring someone with me. Â What I love about this particular location is that It isn't a faux pas to come here and eat alone. Mainly because it's a super quick meal. Â The pho comes out within 5 minutes, you eat, walk up to the cash register, pay (cash only!) and you're out. Â Everything is very efficient. Â They have multiple long communal tables to take advantage of space. Â
Oh and the pho isn't too shabby either :)
My first choice for pho in the NOVA area. It is a whole in the wall joint and decor is practically zero but their broth has always been good each time. The place can get pretty packed so it is uncommon to have to wait during rushes.Cash only.
I think they overcharged me last time. It seems like they charged our table for 5 phos instead of 4 so double check that during check out. I'll be sure to ask for the receipt next time. Overall really satisfying pho if you don't care for modern and clean decor. Bonus is that you can stop by Banh Mi DC next door and pick up sandwiches before heading home.
Even though my dad is a born-and-raised Vietnamese man to the core, he is a VERY picky eater and actually DOESN'T like pho! (!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
That being said, this is the only pho restaurant I can get him to eat at. My family has frequented this location for as long as I can remember, possibly before I was born (if it was open then).
Best pho I've had in a while!! A relative of mine brought me here when I was visiting D.C. The broth was super flavorful and hot temperature wise. I got the basic pho with the flank steak, tripe, and everything else. YUMMM! They give your really decent portions for the price. I thought the meat serving was good compared to some places who seem to give your the bare minimum. There's also loads of fresh cilantro and green onions in the soup. Pho 75 is definitely not shy with its veggie garnishes and will be more than willing to bring you more if you run out (I use mint & limes like crazy!!).
The inside is cafeteria style seating. Very casual, nothing fancy. Don't let the plain appearance deter you though from the delicious food served! We went on a weekend, so it was pretty busy. Had to wait a little bit, but the service is fast and efficient to get tables cleared for new customers. I wish Pho 75 would come open a few places down south! I think they would do really well! I know I'd be a fan!
If I ruled the world, my choice Vietnamese restaurant would have Pho 75's pho, Pho Sate's chicken rolls and Ba Le or Le Bledo's Ca Phe Sua Da. Alas, the world does not revolve around my wishes.
That being said, I still choose Pho 75 over the other area pho joints. Unfortunately Pho Sate has fallen from favor as the broth is often weak and they stopped using real Sriracha a while back. Sriracha is just something you can't fake.
Pho 75's broth is the most flavorful, although as some have mentioned oilier than others. They serve it piping hot where others are often warm to hot, and with plenty of greens. You'll find more than enough meat in your bowl and super fast service.
We always head over to Ba Le on the other side of Rt 50 for Ca Phe Sua Da as 75 serves theirs with normal sugar. Not the greatest.
A bit pricier than neighboring Vietnamese restaurants, but it always hits the spot and you're not spending extra bucks on appetizers or other things.
mmm, every visit i make to this area is punctuated by a satisfying stop at pho 75. The broth is flavorful without being oily, and no sauces are necessary to round out the flavor. The ingredients are fresh, although there has been a noticeable decrease in the amount of goods (tripe, tendon) that go into a classic combination bowl.
this isn't the cleanest of eating establishments, and the dining room is more function over form, but keep your eye (and tummy) on the food and you'll leave happy.
The fresh coconut slivers in coconut water is an excellent to-go post meal treat.
