Came here in December 2012 after going to the Denver Botanic Garden "Blossoms of Lights" , needed some warm food after a chilly night outside. Decided to stop here as the Pho places we usually go to were super far from where we were at.
It was around 8:30pm or so. Dinner Rush & weekend peeps were probably doing the same thing. Walked in and the atmosphere felt authentic Vietnamese. Â We were seated all the way toward the back of the restaurant (my girl friend, her niece & I) The first thing we all thought or I anyways.. was that wonderful.. in the back & we are going to be forgotten. The lighting mind you is super dark.. i know they want the romantic style but it was a little too dark plus we were seated in the back that it made it darker.. i couldn't even read my menu for heavens sake. Â Oh the table they put us , somewhere was a cold draft coming in that hit our legs.. bone chilling..as if we needed that after being out so long.
Service was horrible. Again, could be they had all these open tables in the front but placed us in the back. Our server just forgot about us, plain & simple! About their food. The Pho was on the expensive side, their broth is mediocre (nothing to brag about), Their spring rolls were ok & their pot stickers were good. The only great thing about this place is their "Purple Haze" hot sake. That was really good. I had me 2 carafes.
Like I said service was horrible, horrible. They had too many servers out running around and kept passing us like we were there. Â Finally wanted the tab so we could get the hell outta there. & it took them like 10 minutes to grab a to-go box. Like wtf ..is that even necessary? Â I almost wanted to box everything up & leave it on the table & pretend like I just forgot it there.
Was not happy. I have had a better service for a Pho place. Â Great job guys for ruining our experience!
I have to write a review because I visit this place at least twice a week. No seriously... probably even more. The Central style pho here is like nothing I have ever tasted (well, in America). The broth is rich with flavors indescribable. I would have given it 5 stars, but the service ABSOLUTELY sucks. Also, I haven't tried many other things here, but the other items I did try weren't so great. For a nice rich bowl of pho, go here. Any other dishes, I'd definitely hit up Federal.
Review Source:Service was great. Not to be desired-Old Basil, stale noodles, very small portion of meatballs but huge selection of rare steak, which at first I was stoked about until I ate the chewy buggers. Broth was really good. Not terrible but not good enough to return. phonatic on Colfax best bang for your buck
Review Source:We were looking for some quick pho that was close and settled on this place. Meh. It did not start off too well, there were noodle remnants in my iced tea, but the server was very polite when I pointed this out and replaced it immediately. The Vietnamese egg rolls were off, and so was the Nuoc Mam sauce served with it. I ordered the Central Pho (spicier broth that usual) with rare beef, brisket, and tendon. The broth was really good, but there were way too many noodles, an abnormal amount for Pho. The highlight was the crazy abundance of meat, every time I thought I had fished out the last piece another 3 would show up. I wish I would have liked this place more, I have a feeling it used to be quite awesome.
*there is only one size option for the Pho, request less noodles and opt for the Central broth
I had heard so many good things about Pho on 6th and, after living in Denver over a year, I finally got to try it for myself. It did not disappoint! I loved the broth and portion size. The edamame was some of the best I've ever had (chili & garlic I think?). The spring rolls are yummy and my boyfriend really liked the steamed dumplings. He also thinks they are have a decent beer selection with good prices. I, as always, enjoyed their sake. The décor is probably my favorite thing about the restaurant. It's very beautifully decorated through out giving it a very relaxing atmosphere. Will definitely be back in the summer to enjoy the patio.
Review Source:I woke up this morning and realized I had been dreaming about Pho on 6th. It's true. The pho is mouthwatering and warms you right to the core. This place is just down the street from, so my husband and I will often walk there when it's super cold outside and enjoy a delicious hot bowl of the central pho. The central style is described as their "spicy" version of the original pho... but it's not really spicy at all, it just adds this magical combo of flavors that will change your life. I've tried pho at several other places around town but nothing compares in my book.
In addition to the food, they have beer on tap and a full bar which I can certainly appreciate. It's a fun crowd with good energy and lush vibe. The prices are average and portions are HUGE. You will absolutely get two meals out of an order of the pho.
Don't have too high of expectations in terms of the service, however... it's not the greatest. More times than not our server usually only checks on the table a couple times, which isn't ideal but whatever... your face will be buried so deep in a giant bowl of savory deliciousness that you won't even notice anyone else is in the room.
I have been falling in love with Pho on 6th over the last year and I didn't even know it.
I went to my parents' place over the holidays and one night, they brought home some pho from their local place. Â They had friends over who had never had pho before and as my parents were explaining it, I found myself saying, "well, they do it a little differently at MY place." and "yeah, but it tastes pretty different at MY place." It was then that I realized that Pho on 6th was something truly special. Â Not all pho tastes like theirs, and to me, that means that all other pho isn't quite as good.
We get the central pho combo and the rice dish combo to go pretty regularly and split them. Â We don't even live that close, but the extra drive passed our local eateries is worth it.
Only thing is that I wish they had a real website.
Yum! My friend and I were at the spa across the street and we both love any kind of Asian food so we thought we would give it a try. We ordered take out and were reaaaally happily surprised. The spicy pho is so, so good. The broth is just so tasty. The shrimp in the noodle bowl were also delish! The restaurant itself had a really cool vibe and looked clean. Would go back for sure
Review Source:Went here with my boyfriend a couple of nights ago- we just moved here, and being from both SF and Maui, we have been on a quest to find some good pho. Â
We were thrilled as soon as we entered the place. Â First of all, it is so rare to find a pho place with actual atmosphere. Â Low lights, plush seats, a full bar, everything was looking good so far. Â We were greeted and seated promptly at a comfortable table where the seats proved to be as comfy as they looked. Â
For dinner, we had the veggie pho and rare beef pho, with an appetizer of BBQ pork dumplings. Â Everything was very good. Â The dumplings were so hot and soft, and just the right amount of sweet that one expects from pork dumplings. Â The pho was flavorful (we ordered the spicy versions) and served in quite large portions. Â I had a thai iced tea which was not overly concentrated, as I've had it at other places. Â Overall, while it may not be the best pho we've ever had, it is the best we've had in Denver so far. Â
As for the service (both the boyfriend and I are in the biz) it was quick and efficient, if not overly attentive.  However, I'm spending less than $40 bucks on dinner for two, so I can be a little forgiving.  Also, we both noticed that there weren't any servers/bussers  just hanging around- everyone seemed to be busting their butts, so if they weren't super attentive, it certainly wasn't because they were standing around and talking to each other.
While some may think you don't need to be able to properly pronounce the name of the food you're about to eat, I disagree.
Seeing as how my friends love to butcher the pronunciation of this delicious three-lettered treat, I asked our server the proper way to say "Pho" in an attempt to eradicate the ignorance that drives me crazy every time I hear someone say "Fa."
To my surprise, our server made a point to embarrass me in front of my entire group of friends by stating that it actually is pronounced "Fa." Â My face was more red than the full bottle of Sriracha sauce sitting in front of me. Â Touche Huynh, I respect your knowledge and I hope my tip expressed that. Â
I guess that means no more jokes like,
"Pho -gettaboutit"
"This is a stick up, everybody on the Pho!"
or my favorite:
"Wrong hole Pho!"
Embarrassing moments aside, I really enjoyed the atmosphere. Â Dim yet comfortable lighting, interesting Asian room dividers, Buddha statues that collect tips, and an overall inviting decor. Â Rarely do I say that a restaurant had some of the most comfortable chairs I've ever sat in, but this place had some of the most comfortable chairs I've ever sat in (a fellow reviewer disagrees, but let's not let her ruin this for you).
The Pho was delicious and served as a heaping portion; don't be afraid to ask for a to-go container as they're happy to assist you. Â The vegetable dumplings and spring roles were also amazing (phenomenal peanut sauce). Â Is it the best Pho in Denver, no, but I highly recommend it and will definitely be back myself.
Enjoy!
I love Pho. Â But I live in the capitol hill area and I'm not always up for a drive over to federal to get the high quality stuff. Â After skiing a few days ago, a group of my friends and tried Pho on 6th and we loved it. Â I especially love their spicy broth - what a great concept! Especially for sriracha freaks like me who add 4-6 tablespoons to my broth.. oops. Â The one downside was their service, but it was after all new years day, and I might be a little feisty if I had to work on new years day also. Â Definitely going back. Oh and you can drink too :)
Review Source:The prices are great for the neighborhood, sure there's cheaper bowls of pho, but 8 bucks in cherry creek is very good. Bland pho? No all the necessary condiments are in abundance to customize the flavor. Service, well it's not good, not because they hire bad staff, the staff is just trying to cover too man tables. When I'm in this neighborhood and,not In a rush  love stopping here
Review Source:I'm not an expert in getting Pho-ed up but I can't believe all the bad reviews this place has. Â We stopped in for a late lunch and I thought it was GREAT!
2 types of broth (regular or spicy), the bowls of Pho were $8, HUGE and our server couldn't have been nicer/more attentive.
Very comfortable seating and nice decor for a Pho place, bar area looked cool and they had 3 or 4 TVs going with college football on.
On a very cold December afternoon, what else could you ask for?!
For a dinner for 2 of Pho here....  on an average night it consists of lots of waiting. Tonight is a good example. We called ahead knowing the seating wait can be a half hour. So when we arrived at 6 we were sat immediately! :-) 40 minutes to order. 15 minutes till food. After a half hour of eating our table was promptly cleared. We waited another half hour for bill. Then 20 minutes till he picked up the bill. Total time was almost 2 hours to eat a bowl of pho. The wait time to sit and for food to arrive was great. Those are the times that could take awhile most places. The other  times were insain. So many customers. Just gives us our bill. Get us out of here so someone else can eat. This is why we are phonatic fans . Great food superior service and its bright enough to read menu. There were 3 other tables besides us who used their cell phones toread menu. Eaten here a lot. Just gets worse and worse. This was our last time.
Review Source:Since this was my first experience with Pho, I'll say a few things about how I ended up here, then service, atmosphere and food.
First, I was taken to this Pho spot by my sister-in-law and her BF who could not stop talking up the deliciousness of the pho style dish, a dangerous proposition considering the risk of over hyping it. To their credit, the food was not far off the mark, though it was hard for them to have talked up this traditional Vietnamese dish more but their over exuberance didn't dampen the deliciousness that was the beef pho, rare or rare beef pho. Whatever!
The place is cool mix of 'traditional' (I think) Vietnamese decor with a nice bar in the front of the restaurant. I suggest asking for a table in the back of the restaurant for a more authentic experience, at least it felt more authentic, I've never been to Vietnam so what do I know? Don't forget to tip the Buddha or he'll get you while you sleep.
The pho comes served in massive bowl, I don't know if that's normal but the bowl was huge. Good thing because the large portion lends itself nicely to leftovers. We also tried the spring rolls which tasted great.
Love me some Pho on 6th! There's a reason the place is always busy, the pho is phantastic!
The Pho here has so much depth of flavor. The broth has many layers of flavor and the veggies are very fresh. I tend to eat there like a stoned teenager, just shoveling it in.
Best place to kick a cold, or recover from a hangover. 4 stars!
Second try and I will not be going back. Â I thought about trying something else besides the pho and wish I had. Â The pho here is just so boring and doesn't taste like it should. Â In addition it's extremely noisy and you can hardly hear the person across from you. Â On top of that the chairs are very low and i feel like a little kid sitting at a big table.
By far the worst part about this place is the service. Â Our waiter came to the table a total of 4 times, once to take our order, again to clear our plates (where he attempted to stack all our plates on top of the plates from the table next to us, resulting in a bunch of spilled liquid on the floor and our shoes), and finally to drop off and pick up our check (a long time afer clearing our table, seriously what are we supposed to do beside sit and wonder when he will be back). Â He also forgot to bring back my leftovers which he took to box up. Â He obviously had better things going on than checking on how our meal was going. Â Actually, everyone who works here looks like they'd rather be somewhere else.
Well, you'd think I'd learn - duh. Â Same terribly lame experience as the last time. Â What is surprising is that the place was pretty full in late afternoon on a Sunday. Â What is bringing people in here is beyond me. Â I will say the service was better this time but the food was totally pathetic - wilted limited veggies, tasteless broth, noodles in an impenetrable brick. Â Ew!
Review Source:Save your time & money. Go to Federal or Pho-natic on Colfax. Food is hit or miss but their service is lacking. Last time I got take out, noodles were over cooked & the shrimp was 'good'...if you like old salty shrimp. Nice decor & full bar but doesn't make up for their food and subpar service. Pho me once shame on you, Pho me twice shame on me. Done with this place.
Review Source:It's a decent pho place over in Cherry Creek. Â I wish they gave you different bowl size options though. Â I can never come close to finishing their bowl. Â They are a little chinsy with the meat though. Â I always order rare beef pho regardless of where I go and Pho on 6th gives the least amount.
Review Source:Very bland pho and expensive for what you get. Pho On 6th's broth is remarkably bland and watered down. There's not enough Siracha or Hoisin sauce to fix it. They need a small bottle of fish sauce on the table. It lacks the complex flavors from the exotic blend of spices and ox tail marrow. If I didn't know any better I would probably think its pretty good. But I'm really spoiled because I grew up on the real deal and live on Denver's west side near some of the really epic pho shops on Federal.
The bowls are large and should be for $8. But I'd rather pay less for a smaller bowl of supertasty awesomeness that I can finish than more for a huge bowl that I only ate about half.
To their credit. they don't skimp on the sprouts and basil like some other shops. And their veggie dumplings were really good. Â The service was pretty slow whether it was peak lunch time or not.
I've tried this place numerous times, and have resorted to sitting at the bar due to poor table service, but went with friends who wanted a table and was hopeful that it would be better this time. Ha! Not so much. Seriously, could you train your servers to be attentive? Oh, and they use MSG. Boo.
Review Source:The food was fine for the price (this earns two stars).
Unfortunately, the service was completely chaotic. Â Our main dishes were brought out over 20 minutes apart, to the point where the person next to me was done eating by the time my food came out. Â Certain things that were ordered never arrived, while others came out at the wrong time.
The real kicker for me was that, when I got up to take a quick phone call, my unfinished food was taken and thrown away. Â I still had half a bowl of broth to eat! Â When I told the server what had happened, he apologized half-heartedly and walked off, making no effort to correct the mistake.
The employees need to slow down and do their work properly, or if understaffed they need more people on the floor so that everyone can be deliberate and get things right. Â Otherwise, you get the chaotic and half-assed atmosphere that you see at Pho on Sixth.
My favorite place for Pho/Combo rice noodle bowls! The broth for the pho is something special, it almost tastes like there's of hint of graham cracker in it (which is fine with me!), but however they make it works! I have also become a huge fan of their combo noodle bowls - these things are huge and the meat is heavenly. Â
The only reason I can't give this place a 5-star review is the service. Â It's not horrible or anything, but it is slow as a turtle. Â I think simply hiring more people would help, as this place has around 2.5 servers on a busy lunch/dinner. Â Every time we come here for lunch we order as soon as they bring us waters! Otherwise we'd be here for hours. Â
Also, every time someone at the table has ordered a pho and someone a dish, the soup comes out first - and it takes another 10-15min before the other entree comes out. I think it's common sense; bring the two dishes out at the same time! That way me and my dining partner aren't staring at the pho while it gets cold.
I want to give 3.5 stars
The food is great but the service is less than great. Â Took forever to get greeted and my drink ran out multiple times without being filled in a timely manner. Â The tables are really close together too. Â Not too bad of a thing but when the table next to you is annoying it gets a bit frustrating.
The food really was great, tho. Â I'd say the best pho I've had in Denver actually. I just wish the service was better. Â Maybe when I go back I'll change my mind...
However, the decor is spectacular. Â Being a designer I can appreciate good design and this place hit the nail on the head. Â Yes yes yes!!
A short walk from my apartment, Pho on 6th is a place I frequent. Â My grand debate is always- do I drive 15 minutes to a magnificent bowl of pho or walk 5 blocks to a good bowl of pho. Â If a friend or two is with me, I drive to Pho 95 for a magnificent meal. Â If I'm solo, I eat at Pho on 6th.
The restaurant is cool- the seats are comfortable, the atmosphere is welcoming and the wood carvings are amazing. Â The bar is my favorite place to dine alone; the bartender is nice, the bar feels tucked away from the restaurant, and there are a lot of other people dining alone. Â After a long day at work, I pull up a seat at the bar and order a beer and a bowl of pho. Â
The pho is $8, which is pricey, but the beer is cheap and I don't have to drive there. Â The bowl is quite large and the broth is fantastic, so I don't mind paying the price for the quality and convenience.
I don't know if I can officially write a review about this place since I have only gotten take out but as far as that goes it was awesome!
We went with the intention of dining in but once we got there it was absolutely packed and there was an hour wait, on a Wednesday!
We decided to just put our order in an get a drink at the bar, by the time we were done our food was ready and we took it home.
The food is great we both got Pho and  it was good. The decor inside is really neat and it has a great personality. As far as the staff goes while we were there everyone seemed really nice and accommodating. I would absolutely go here again!
Pho 6 : Best Pho place on 6th Avenue
Located aside other boutiques along 6th Avenue in Denver, has a wide selection of good eats and good selection of drinks on their drink menu. Â Even when my date had ordered a non-common drink item that wasn't on their regular drink menu, they gladly were able to accommodate a peppered Bloody Mary just to his liking.
Upon first walking in, the walls are adorned with tasteful, asianesque décor with Buddha statues and other artwork.
Appetizers, the garlic and chili edamame in particular are so robust with flavor and mouth-wateringly delicious! Â Beats any other Asian fusion's place of traditionally rock-salted edamame. Â It's the perfect place to venture out to on a nice, moderate fall to crisp wintery evening for their beef, chicken or shrimp stock stew. Â I ordered the beef brisket Vietnamese noodle bowl...Let me tell you that it was experiencing sheer, utter, "Pho heaven." Â I was taken away by the tasting the right balance of spiciness in their noodle bowl recipe. Â It made it especially hard to break away from eating, even after my stomach was full and about to burst out of my jeans!
I can confidentially say that Pho 6 is my new favorite Pho place.  But don't take my word for it...look online via the Denver's renown dining site, the 'Urbanspoon' to compare for yourself:  <a href="/redir?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.urbanspoon.com%2Fr%2F17%2F1445336%2Frestaurant%2FCountry-Club%2FPho-on-6th-Denver&s=505929f79a7b2e4c2eeba8a7644864e1e2f37f24fababab137eba1f713f080c9" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">http://www.urbanspoon.co…</a> .
They don't need to hype up their name with clever mainstream, knock-off names, such as, "Pho Shizzle," "Pho-king Good," or "What the Pho?"...For their delicious food, exceptional service followed by delightful complimentary overall atmosphere, makes this food venue a five star review, "pho sure!"

This place is the bees knees.
Beer is now $1.50 for import, $1.25 domestic (I think), its not really clear if this is all day or I just happen to come in during happy hours, I have been here on a weekday and Saturday, both times around 2pm and the beers were cheap.
I am no pho expert, the only other time I have tried pho it was vegetarian...which doesn't really count. I think it is pretty decent here though.
The atmosphere is nice and I like to kind of linger around here drinking cheap beers.
SERVER PADDED HIS TIP!!! I check my credit card statements against my receipts and noticed that the charge from this place was off. Â It was exactly $0.50 more. Â The server padded his tip!!!
I left a 20% tip for dinner. Â The food was fine. Â The service was pretty slow and definitely nothing special. It's only $0.50 so it's certainly NOT about the money. Â My gripe is with the server who thinks he can get away with skimming a bit here and there off his customers to pad his tips. Â Um, I'm pretty sure there's a word for that: THEFT.
