Pizza by Alex

The pizza is actually very good. Although the service and management is not so good. A lot of times I go for a pick up, giving them more than enough time. When you go ask for your order at the register, they start making your pizza right in front of you. This has happened 2 or 3 times, I had to wait an extra 20 minutes. Their subs sandwiches use to be good, something is different about them. Might be the quality of ingredients.

When you go next door to their sit down restaurant, it could use some maintenance in their walls and ceilings. I didn't feel the staff was welcoming, you had to get their attention when they were in the kitchen. And its usually never packed when I have gone, they should focus on the customer thats actually there.. I wish they could step up their game, so it could be a good restaurant for the neighborhood.

Caprese salad is delicious as well.

My favorite pizza, if not the tastiest in Chicago. The cheese and sauce are absolutely delicious and its always baked in a brick oven with a thin crust.

As many people have written, the deliver takes forever. I placed my order at 7pm online, I was warned that it would be delivered at 8pm, one hour is a long time for delivery, but acceptable. My pizza did not arrive until 8:45 (ordered at 7pm). If I was the manager/owner of Pizza by Alex, I would make an effort to fix this.

The pizza was good, good quality, crust was great, topping were great, worth the wait? No.

I will probably order something from them again, but I will expect to wait at least an hour and a half. So, eat dinner and then order a pizza, you will be hungry again by the time it is delivered.
