After a long day of moving into an apartment with no fridge yet, my boyfriend and I were starving and couldn't get groceries. Pizzeria las brasas is a short walk from our new apartment and we had driven by it a few days before.

A large pizza only cost about 8 dollars with one topping, and extra toppings cost 2.50. I personally think that's excessive, but I understand. We got a sausage and green pepper for under $11 and it was SO good. I like that it's pretty thin crust and it's cut into squares. The green peppers were really fresh too.

I'm leaving one star empty because I've only been once and haven't dined in. There's room for growth!

If I had to plan a pizza & karaoke package staycation, I'd probably go with Las Brasas/Alice's over Little Clown/Bialystock a half mile south.  The decent thin crust pizza here is the ideal snack to soak up the alcohol which you'll need to muster up the courage to break out the karaoke at Alice's Lounge nearby.  As out east by the lake, there needs to be a respectable pizza joint within 1/4 mile of any given location, and this is helping to fill in the otherwise sparse Avondale pizza scene.  This place is better than average due to a broad range of toppings- including jalapeno, bacon, and giardiniera.  Last time I walked by they were advertising whole pizzas for $5.50, which is a steal, but the slices are a good deal at $1.50.
