Okay, I joined yelp just to write this review. Â I ordered a very simple dinner, a greek salad and a baked potato. Â It estimated a 55 minute delivery...8:24. Â My food finally arrived at 8:50, taking it well over an hour to deliver a salad and potato, from .7 miles from my house on a Wednesday night, not during busy dinner hours.
When the delivery driver arrived, I figured it wasn't his fault and still wanted to leave him a 30% tip. Â He had no change for me, so my options were to find exact cash for what I wanted to leave, or leave him a $7 tip on my $13 order that was 25 minutes late. Â I dug through a piggy bank to find him a more appropriate total. Â
Then when I got my food, my baked potato was rock solid. Â I forced down half of it since it was half of my meal but when I was trying to soften the other side, it was so hard it slid from under my fork onto the floor. Â I was so disappointed with this meal. Â Maybe this is the kind of place you need to dine in to enjoy but I would definitely not recommend Pocket's based off my first and last impression of them.
In general as a chain I can't say anything bad about Pockets at all. I am pleased that this place is within waling distance of my home. Is it the best for you? Not the best but as as far as chains are concerned, you can get a relatively healthy meal here.
It is beginning to worry me a bit that every time I come in here, there is never really a crowd. I mean this is a bonus for me as I never have to wait too long for my food. I have never had a bad experience here. As I mentioned before, there has never been much of a wait. The service here is great and the food is always really good.
Do not be fooled by their terrible logo and not-very-appetizing food photos... the food is really really really good. Alarmingly good for it being not entirely unhealthy for you.
When you order online repeatedly you get pocketPoints or something like that and it leads to free food. I have acquired and received free food multiple times from them.
If you like Ranch dressing- this place has the kind that you just want to drink it is so good- if you are into ranch you know exactly what I'm talking about!
I have had little issues arise over the years and as soon as I email them about it I have gotten a response from the owner withing minutes... that's right... I said MINUTES. They mean business. Good business. My issues have always been solved super fast. One time they forgot to put my extra ranch in my to-go bag. I didn't realize until I got home. I called and someone actually drove to my house to bring me my little cup of ranch dressing. I'm such a glutton.
I refuse to order from here anymore, which sucks because I really like the food.
The customer service is HORRIBLE. I ordered a couple salads and a sandwhich once, The delivery driver came, dropped a big bag off, got paid etc etc and left. I open the bag to discover one salad.
....really dude? That's nowhere near everything I order. I just got a $20 or so salad. I call to let them know and the manager (I assume) sounded clueless and a little stoned. "Well uh...what do you want me to do? I can credit your account or something..." Alright, whatever. Do that. I didn't ONCE get an apology, either.
That's not the only time that's happened. Every time I would order, they would forget something. Once, they even forgot to put lettuce in the salad. making it....a bunch of veggies in a box.
It's really a shame that the customer service is trash, because I really do love their food. But they clearly refuse to do anything about it.
I order out from here when I am feeling disgustingly lazy, have no groceries and don't want to order something I'll feel super guilty about. Â The food is just ok and the delivery service is ok and the price is ok. Â I really like the calzones and the salads are basically order your own way, so you make it good. Â I've never had a problem with the sanitary quality of my food like some people mention in other reviews, but it's fast food salad, it being less than 'super great' is just the nature of the beast.
Review Source:This Pockets has some very special memories for me. Its located very close to the school that I worked at and I only had enough time to eat here on special days that we were given a 1 hour lunch. I don't know if my decision to eat here when I had a long lunch gives you an idea of how amazing this place is or of the quality of the selection around where I work.
Needless to say, I love this Pockets, it has seen me through some of the worst days and greeted me warmly with a hot calzone or a cool salad. I love this pockets. I'm sure all the menus are the same, but none of them will love you quite the same way that this one does.
I loved loved loved the Pockets on Lincoln & Cullom when I lived in that neighborhood. Â
The Belmont Pockets does not even come close to the quality and friendly experience I received at the prior location.
Consistently 30 - 40 minutes late on my delivery. Â Screwed up the order twice.
Thanks to GrubHub and the other online ordering sites I have found more reliable forms of food delivery for my neighborhood.
Good bye Pockets on Belmont & I promise to visit the one on Lincoln when I'm back in the hood!

Can't speak to the dine in experience but I can't imagine that good service or decor will do anything to improve what was absolutely terrible food.

I ordered the make your own pocket. I got the Mexican blend of beans and veggies, salsa for the "dressing" as well as lettice and black olives. I also ordered a baked potato with mushrooms and onions.
Everything was bland. How do you extract flavor from what are clearly raw vegetables? The potato looked like it had gone through a bad breakup. How you F up salsa is beyond me but they nailed it.
Over-all just a really unfortunate, frustrating waste of money.
The logistics (ordering, paying and getting the food delivered) were fine but the food, which is really the point of a restaurant, was just awful.
Sucks, as I'd love another lunch option near my place of employment.
I was really excited to try this place out since it opened by my house a few months ago and I finally got around to it yesterday. Â Meh. Â Not so great. I got a combo, Broccoli Chedddar Soup & A mini Greek Calzone. Â The soup was alright but the calzone sucked. Â I was just NOT happy with the taste. Â The staff was alright, not the nicest people in the world. ...and it takes 20 minutes for all calzones to be made, just a heads up.
Review Source:I wonder if I should see someone in my addiction to Pockets? Anyway in the meantime I'm going to enjoy this new place. Although the website indicates it's in Logan Square, I would argue with that as I think it's in Avondale. It doesn't matter to me, any direction I go in the city I have a pockets location I can get my fix.
The people were nice and fresh food as always. They even deliver. This place was packed at lunch time.
Though I do enjoy a BBC calzone and the create-your-own salads, this review is not about that.
These five stars are for the ranch dressing that accompanies said entrees. Oh yes, I do believe it is THAT good. I don't know if it's made there or from another company or what have you, I just know it is the best ranch dressing I have ever tasted.
What can I say...its a pockets! And I love Pockets! I always order the Calzones because thats what I like....
a big hunk of wheat dough stuffed with cheese , turkey, spinach!!!! and 2 sides of Ranch!!!
I ordered the Gobbler ladies and gentlemen and I recommend you do the same.....

SOOOO read a whole bunch of reviews on this place and they seemed good! I tried it and this place is disgusting...Poor quality chicken and the sandwich would have to be healthy when the only thing in it is salad. It was like over 2 dollars to add chicken and there was like no chicken in it. the bread was sooo dry!!! The potato was also severly over cooked!!!! They truly suck!!!!! Well maybe ill try the salad sometime in the future but the sandwiches need ALOT OF WORK!!!
