I have fond memories of eating at Potbelly in high school and college, but for some reason I haven't been back since. Â So when some work friends suggested a lunch outing there, I was a little excited, not gonna lie. Â (My work week is pretty boring, so a trip to Potbelly is kind of a big deal. Â God, I'm sad.) Â My Skinny Mushroom Melt was so delicious that I actually felt a few pangs of guilt for staying away so long. Â Don't worry, Potbelly. Â I may stray, but I'll always come back to you.
P.S. - Hey, hot dude in the corner singing my favorites? Â I'll always come back to you, too.
This is one of my favorite sandwich places. Â I especially like the PB&J (I only order this occasionally, as it is the one sandwich on the menu that has the highest fat content).
The breads are soft even after going through their toaster. Â They have a nice menu selection to choose from. Â During the cold months, I order their soup of the day. Â The soup isn't too salty, which is what happens with a lot of sandwich places. Â You can really taste the flavors of the ingredients of the soup.
The Meatball is good, turkey is good, the "wreck" is fantastic! Â Overall, good tastes when I visit .
Picture this:
-Friday Afternoon.
-Me and some friends grabbing some P-Belly before a lil roadtrip.
-Contemplating our sammy order while Neil Young is playing crystal clear over the sound system.
-Today will be a good day.
-We turn around and see a guy playing in the corner...
-Holy Sh*t! You mean to tell me that's not Neil Young, it's just a guy playing Neil Young?
-Today will be a great f*cking day
-I think I feel my inner groupie coming out... at a Potbell... in strip mall... in Bolingbrook.
-Hot!
Oh, the sammies and soup were fantsmo too but I'm gonna start going back just to hear that guy. As we discussed how f*cking amazing the guy was, the Potbelly register man said he actually looks forward to coming into work on days he'll know the guitar/singer guy is there. Next time, I'm buying the CD (Brian McCoy) and staying for the whole set. F*cking Amazing.
wow, i was amazed by this place... i'd say it's a much higher end of Subway kinda place... much better!
it was so crowded when i went there during lunch hour... so i bought a sandwich combo with their famous banana vanilla milk shake to go, and then enjoyed it back in the office... it was AWESOME... the bread was toasted, really good flavors, and the milk shake was really good - i am not usually a milk shake drinker...
i forgot how much i paid those for, and i am so sorry that i don't live in Chicago to get to enjoy it place all the time! would definitely go back again...
yay. i love potbelly's. i realize i have already reviewed another potbelly's in the area so everything on that review applies to this one. I just felt like mentioning that the sandwich guy was assembling my sandwich and asked what i wanted on it, and i made sort of a silent burp in the middle of talking so it came out sounding like this..."Lettuce, tomato and the italian season........ings." Â i felt like a dork but he made me feel less dorky by giggling a bit along with me.
anyway the sandwiches are tasty and the meats seem to just be better than you get other places. the toppings are fresh and the bread is great. its awesome to run it thru the magical toasting machine. the cookies are fabulous. the shakes are wonderful. and again, coke products. woohoo!
Potbelly is my absolute favorite place to get a sub. Â Ten times cheaper than Quizno's, and a million times better than Subway. Â This location is not an exception to that. Â I went here for a take out lunch the other day, and even though the place was packed, the line was moving rather quickly. Â The store was packed, and I think they had the heat on, so that made the wait a little uncomfortable. Â They had a guy in the dining room singing and playing the acoustic guitar. Â That was pretty cool, until he tried doing some Norah Jones, which was horrible. Â I am so glad my order was ready before he could get halfway through the botched song!
