I've written a review for another Potbelly, so I don't want to overdo it here. Â Same thing for the food - good food, decent price, and delicious cookies (though I skipped it this time...gotta watch the waistline and all!).
I like this near my home and work, so I'm sure I'll be back again!
It was a slightly chilly but beautifully sunny day when I stepped into Potbelly's in Richfield. Â As myself and my coworker stepped in line for our food, the anticipation was coming on strong. Â The gals behind the counter taking our orders were upbeat with smiling faces. Â The 'what do you want on it' person seemed okay. Â The girl who took my money was friendly enough. Â But when we sat down and took that first bite of our sandwiches it was like being in my twentys again and being set with a blind date with the girl with a "nice personality". Â That "lipstick on a pig" quote came up in conversation and it was decided that we probably wouldn't be back. Â The shake I had was just a mediocre shake, more akin to just whipped melted ice cream. Â Two stars because of the friendly staff!
Review Source:I'm giving it a 3 for this, my first visit. The 3 might be caused by my mistakes, so I will try them again and see if I can move that up.
I ordered a sandwich with salami, turkey, ham and roast beef  -minus the salami
I chose the wheat bread - that is possible problem #1 there.
Then I had mustard, mayo, lettuce, pickles, ranch dressing, olive oil and itaian herbs (which could problem possibility #2)
The sandwich tasted good, but there was something just not right about it. I couldn't figure out if it was something in the bread, or the cornmeal (?) on the bottom of the bread, was it how the bread was toasted?? I don't know. The other option is that it's possible that I should have skipped the Italian herbs .
I will definitely go here again, but I will try the sandwich with the white bread and skip the herbs (they are kind of hard because they are not *in* the oil) and see how that comes out. I'm gonna guess that it will be much better.
***OK! I am updating my review. I went back and ordered a big wreck on white, no salami and cheddar cheese (extra even) instead of Swiss. I skipped the Italian herbs. Well, whatever I did, it made it right. So I gave them one star back because they do indeed have wonderful sandwiches. The other star is just for their dream bar. OMG it is the best bar I have ever had. I could sit here and eat these all day long. They also have milkshakes and a few other bakery options for deserts, as well as chips to go with your sandwich. I'm definitely a Potbelly fan now.
I love Potbelly. Â There are several reasons for this that include but are not limited to:
- toasted subs with hot peppers
- a wide array of thick, tasty shakes (mocha. yum.)
- live, albeit somewhat random, music performers
Now for the real reason to head to Potbellys for lunch: Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies. Best cookies ever and if it weren't for the fact that I don't want to be obese anytime soon I would eat at least 5 per day. Â I'm not sayin', I'm just sayin'...
This location is near my work so I go there quite often and I have never had a bad experience. Â The workers are very friendly and fast and the food is always fresh and tastes great. Â Two thumbs up.
