My fiancé and I LOVE press 626!! They have great food, we've been here 3 times now and have no complaints. Brunch on Sundays has 3 dollar drinks, plus amazing food, can't beat it! My only slight complaint would be that the service tends to be slow, but that could just be cause we are fast eaters;)go check this place out!

I've always had excellent service... love the cheese plate.  I'd give this an additional star except I've not had much else there....  it's a bit pricey.  BUT, with full confidence, I stand by my opening statement!

I really liked this place, their truffle mac & cheese was the best i've ever had and their white wine sangria was fantastic.
Great place for a romantic date and wine lovers.

This adorable place was a great lunch break between classes. Parking is limited in their lot but their is also on street parking. Ambiance is great and they have cute little touches everywhere. I met a friend there around 12:15 on a weekday and by the time we left they were very busy. I got the chicken and dumpling soup and a panini. My total was right around $15 which some people might gripe about but it's right on track from comps in the area. I will defintily be back from lunch when I have a break from class again.

Monday's are ladies night, which means 50% off entrees and $3 select wines!

I heard they change their menu time to time, when I went last night, I had the lamb and my friend had crab cakes, both of which r delicious!

Spent some time at the hospital next door and ate here on Saturday & Monday. Crowded both nights. Ate crab cakes, strawberry & asparagus salad, lamb noisettes & red quinoa salad. The quinoa salad was 'meh', but other dishes were excellent. Wine price & selection were good. Vibe, ambiance excellent. Service was okay; bar is a little slow.

A very nice selection of wines although the 'by-the-glass' options were more limited.  Only full pours are available unless having a flight (samples of any are allowed before committing which is nice).  I chose a flight of reds for $12 and was very happy with the selection.  Staff were very friendly and informative.  Dave & Dee's Mushroom small plate (oyster mushrooms in garlic & butter with a large portion of brie and a baguette) was a delicious accompaniment to my flight.  Not my first visit here and not my last.

Thumbs up:  service, variety, taste, quality.

Best grilled cheese place ever!! I'm from NYC and have tried MANY panini places, but this place is the best. I've moved back to NYC and am not able to go to here anymore, but I miss this place a lot. So sad that I discovered this place five years after living in Va Beach.

    Pro:
    -Cheap
    -Fresh ingredients
    -Friendly service
-Everyone is drinking (remind you, most are working at EVMS)
    -Warm atmosphere

    Con:
-The place isn't too big, so you might have wait a little to get a seat.

My first experience at this restaurant was on a Friday afternoon during happy hour.  The wine was 1/2 off and the small plates were buy one get one half off.  The decor is so *cute*!  Our server, Sam made all the difference! He was present without being overbearing, knowledgeable, and able to give good suggestions.  I was happy with my wine and El Cubano sandwich.  My friends and I had a great time here.

I know a lot of people rave about this place, and maybe it will be better the second time around, but I have to go with my honest experience there.
My girlfriends and I went there for Happy Hour and Ladies Night. Our dinner was scheduled for 7, but a few of us got there at 6 to take advantage of Happy Hour at the bar. My friend got me a glad of Moscato, which was pretty delicious. I finished it and she ordered me one more before we went to our table. The bartender served it to me at the bar and then I took it to my seat at the table. After one sip I could clearly tell it was not Moscato and I politely told the waiter they had served me the wrong drink and to please bring me a Moscato. When he came back he told me they were now out of Moscato. "Oh, tried to give me the ole switcharoo eh?" is what I thought of to say, but didn't. Instead I just asked if they had a Riesling instead. He said they did not. He suggested a few other sweet white wines and brought me samples but they all tasted so bitter so I said I'd just have water. (My philosophy is Why waste the calories on something I don't actually like?) It would have been nice if he had refunded my friend for my drink, but never did.
Later, one of my friends tried to order a Chardonnay, but they were out of that too! Man! And on Ladies Night too!
There were nine of us at a table but we only had about 5 menus to share between us and then the waiter kind of briskly asked for the rest of them before we'd even ordered because they needed them for other tables. Hmmmmm.
I ordered the famous grilled cheese sandwich and although they get points for being original with the different cheeses and flavors, it was just ok for me, nothing I'd lose sleep over if I never had it again.
I must also mention that although the room was very cute and cozy, the acoustics were terrible!! I felt like I was at a rock concert, having to shout to be heard and having to ask everyone to say it one more time...
The saving grace of the night was that I had a wonderful time hanging out with my friends, and the yummiest thing to look at was not the food, but the waiter although he lost some points for being a little bitter, kinda like their wine.

Yet another place that I frequent and have yet to do a review.  I really like the ambiance that they have here.  It's rather unique and welcoming, with a lot of local art hanging on the walls within; haven't found any I absolutely had to have, but it makes a fun distraction while you're waiting.  Service has been great every time I've been there, and the food has been very good - haven't found anything that sucked, and appreciate the nice variety they have.  Sometimes I'm in the mood for a salad made the way I want it without having to make it myself at home, and it's great!  Wine selection is generous, and the hummus/tampenade is one of my favorite snacks around.  The only funny thing was that I saw one of the staff walking in from the street barefoot, putting her shoes on right at the last minute before she went in - kind of adds to the quirk and charm of the place.  Patio seating is more quaint than cramped, and I do like the little side room to the right which isolates you from some of the bustle and comes in handy if you've got children.

And I've almost always got Shazaam open on my phone when I'm there because I always find new tunes that I like.  Keep forgetting to ask which "station" they're tuned to.

Press 626 was on my list for a long time, but it was only recently that we finally made it out here.

We were seated on the patio, which was very pleasant. My bf has the crispy duck confit and I had their award winning grilled cheese. I don't think the food was amazing, but I do agree that their grilled cheese is pretty good.  Fries were a little soggy and soft though, but I guess some people like that. I prefer mine crunchy.

Our waiter was really nice and attentive, so the service was great. No complaints.

I'd only return if someone else really wanted to go here.

Great place - food was delightful (one of the best Cuban sandwiches I've ever had).  Good variety of wine, varied menu, pretty place.  Monday night was Ladies Night - so my wife got everything for 1/2 price.  Fantastic.

Can get crowded quickly, but we sat at the bar and it was comfy eating there.

I'll give them a little bit of a pass this time, but I sat there this visit for over 20 minutes with zero service.  You know when you start checking your watch just to see how long they are going to let you occupy a chair and have zero clue you exist?  Zero.  They weren't even busy.  They are lucky my wife was joining me and running a little late; otherwise, I would have been long gone.

When it finally dawned on the server/bartender/host/whatever that there was an extra bit of overt oxygen consumption in my corner, he at least came over an apologized.  After that, everything went pretty smooth.

I ordered the grilled cheese and tomato soup combo, and the server paired it well with a vino of the red persuasion; his knowledge of wines they served was superb, and my wife and I enjoyed the casually intimate atmosphere of the cafe portion.  Our food was excellent, and I'm thankful the visit ended on a good note.  We've been a few times and look forward to going back when able.

This place makes me feel special, (in a good way ).Went here with my hubby and this place has killer ambience, especially at night... great for couples.  The decor is pretty cool/hipster. It was small and cozy & sort of reminded me of Europe. Best part of it all is the service! Our waiter was very friendly, helpful & most of all very professional.

We didnt have an entree but went there for dessert. My husband got the bread pudding which was delectable. I got the champagne cupcake & i must say BEST CUPCAKE EVER!  it was delicious. Also, they had a cool beer menu (in addition to their  wine menu). I tried gluten-free beer & to my surprise it was good.

Try new things. Visit  press 626 if you're in the ghent area.

I checked this place out a few weeks back after living in Ghent for years. I thought the atmosphere was stellar and cozy as I expected. My only concern was with the menu variety. There were several interesting options, but I was looking for something on the scale of comfort-food. I decided on the butternut squash risotto - but it turned out to be a pleasant surprise!

The bread pudding dessert, now that was out of tis world...

I gave Press 626 four-stars due to the somewhat narrow selection. Great dinner over-all.

This is a beautiful restaurant- I've enjoyed three meals here and each time service is a hit or miss. One night the restaurant wasn't that busy and we hardly ever saw our waiter, another the restaurant was packed and service was unbelievably good.

The food is always great, although I'm not a huge fan of the desserts. The first time we ordered a cupcake and it was fairly dry. Another time we had the strawberry bread pudding, also not very good.

Overall though, I really like Press 626 and would recommend it for an evening out.

After being a neighbor of Press 626 for over a year and walking by it hundreds of times (no exaggeration), I finally took the initiative to stop by with some friends for lunch. The outside looks as quaint and understated as a restaurant can get...which might be the reason I never felt compelled to stop in. After my trip, I left content overall but with a couple of issues that I couldn't let go of (definitely a 3.5 star feeling).

Our waitress quickly brought us our water and came to take our order when we came around noon. The water tasted a little odd to me for some reason and my glass had a something green on it (maybe a leftover lettuce piece from the previous customer?). I was going to ask for a new glass, but I didn't want to be "that guy" so I just scooped it out and let it be.

Everyone in my group got different sandwiches (all around $9) and two of us payed 1.50 extra to replace our side salad with french fries. I always feel weird about paying extra for fries...I can't imagine potatoes cost much more (if any) than lettuce, but I know that was our decision so no big deal. Even though there were only around 10 people in the restaurant when we ordered, it took almost a half an hour to get our food. I thought maybe it was just us, but it looked like almost everyone that came in at the same had that long of a wait. The sandwiches we got were all great though! The sandwich I got, the "italian bird" was perfectly made and might be the sole reason I come back here. It was chicken/turkey breast, portabello mushrooms, and cheese with pesto spread. The texture was amazing and the flavors were perfectly balanced. (My mouth's watering thinking about it). Everyone else enjoyed their sandwiches as well, but after the long wait, none of us wanted to take the time to share. The portions weren't too big or small, which I always appreciate.

Back to the $1.50 fries (I'm a french fry lover, so I have to comment here). They definitely delivered on the quantity, but were short on the quality. To me, they tasted like they'd been sitting around for an hour and just kept warm. They just lacked flavor and the texture was a little pasty and off. I don't think I'll spring for them again.

Something to consider are the specials on wine tasting and certain foods on various days of the week. Also, I hear from yelpers (and smell from my window) that their brunch is great.

Bottom line: I can't comment on any food other than sandwiches here, but if you're a sandwich person then this place is a great lunch spot for you! The prices are fair and ingredients are of great quality...it might just take you most of your lunch break to see for yourself. I'm a little weary of the cleanliness after my water/glass experience, but it might have been a fluke. I plan to come back...but it might take me another 100 passes to feel compelled to do so.

When I suggested eating at Press 626 for lunch, I sort of regretted it as soon as we walked through the door. Not that it's a bad place to eat but I find that sometimes when I "drag" my husband with me to various foodie type venues he doesn't much care for the food.

And like a good Catholic Korean girl, I am riddled with guilt for the rest of the meal.

    BUT.. He LIKED IT!

We went for a three course meal starting with the trio of spreads which consisted of a briny black olive tapenade, a garlic hummus and an herby chevre/goat cheese spread. All served with as many croustini as your heart desires.  The hummus was a little thick and tasted more of sesame seed oil than tahini but I really enjoyed the combo of goat cheese and tapenade.

Moving onto the entree (ok .. fine .. panini) I opted for the vege which had even more goat cheese and some slices of portobello, zucchini and tomato. I would've liked another flavor or a full portobello mushroom rather than a few slices. I think it would've been nice to see some roasted red pepper and maybe some caramelized onion. It needed a little salt but after that it was pretty good.

The mixed greens it came with were yum with a drizzle of reduced balsamic. So sweet and lovely.

And because I can't leave well enough alone we had to get 2 desserts. Not just one.

I should warn you .. the desserts are huge. Really big. The Blueberry Champagne cupcake was ok. I liked the fresh blueberries though like most white cakes I've ever had the tendency is to be a little on the dry side. The peanut butter bread pudding was really nice atop a creme anglaise with a ice cream scoop of whipped cream. Not the light fluffy custardy type of bread pudding .. it was more dense and very bready but still tasty.

I ordered a coffee with dessert and got my own little french press. Oooo .. classy.

I'd go back. Like say on a Wednesday night when they have Wino Wednesdays .. or something like that. $15 for wine tasting and you get up to 45 wines. That's a pretty awesome deal.

What a cute restaurant!  My friend and I were driving through after our trip to OBX which was awesome by the way!  We just happened to drive by when we were looking for a lunch spot.  This place is set up like a house, with great decor and great food.  We had an adorable waiter who blushed a little when helping us but that was part of the charm of the place.  Paninis were great and he made us summer misters (sparkling water, fruit, etc.) to order slightly off the menu.  Great cafe and if I'm ever in the area again would go out of my way to find this place!

The grilled cheese and fries are ridiculously good, but what I really appreciate is the WINE selection, and the help you get from the very knowledgeable staff on what is good.  Their suggestions are almost always spot on and they are all so friendly and cheerful.  Love this place for afternoon drinks or dinner.

Good music and good atmosphere. Went on a Saturday night around 7:30 and it wasn't too crowded. Can't wait to go back!

I wish there were more wines by the glass available but I know that's a bit of an unreasonable request :)

My office took me here for a luncheon on my last day. It was so good. I got the grilled cheese with fries. Definitely the best grilled cheese I've ever had! Fries were good, but I'd like to try the sweet potato fries next time.

The service was slow, but it was okay because the whole office was there. Definitely could not go here for lunch on a normal work day. The waiter was kind of weird, I think he may have thought I was a child or something, based on the way he spoke to me compared to the other guests in my party. He took my order last and my food didn't come out for about 5 minutes after everyone else's came. I thought that was odd, especially since I was the "guest of honor." The food made up for that though.

Also, the water glasses were really, really small.  They keep the water bottles on the table so you can refill when you like, but the glass was seriously a one sip and done so I was continuously refilling my glass. If my husband and I go someday I can forsee that being a problem because we both drink a ton of water.

Besides those few things, I had a great time and loved the food. I'd like to try everything on the menu, but I don't know if anything could possibly get better than that grilled cheese sandwich.

    YUM.

Without reservations, my friend and I were seated immediately early on a Saturday evening; halfway into our meal, the place filled up, so I do think a reservation is a good idea if you plan to eat later than 6:00pm.

The menu is full of delicious items, though a bit limited for vegetarians and non-dairy types. I was happy with the vegetable sandwich and tomato soup. Although the sandwich appeared very plain and underwhelming, it absolutely delivered in taste. The housemade aioli mayo topped the grilled vegetables off perfectly without overpowering the sandwich and the tomato soup tasted very fresh and flavorful (no need to add any salt). My friend enjoyed her Cobb salad even without the traditional avocado. The roasted garlic dressing was phenomenal.

After a month of a dairy-free diet, I caved in and ordered the chocolate chip peanut butter bread pudding for dessert. Warning: this dessert is HUGE. Set in what looks like melted ice cream and topped with a big dollop of whipped cream, this dish is not for the dairy-free gluten-free diet. It was quite a spurge and I daren't do it again for a long while, but it was quite a delicious way to splurge. Yum.

I can see where alot of people get annoyed with this venue, but the stars were aligned for me that night.....

You see I had a date bring me here and it takes me an eternity to get ready so by the time we arrived it was already 9ish so there were a couple spots open in the parking lot, thank heavens these shoes were NOT make for walking.  Now when it comes to my dates I like the type of men that shouldn't be in this establishment (think rappers, bikers, skin heads, tattoo artists) so if it would have been any more crowded my date would have been uncomfortable, not that I mind I think its funny.  We had alot of space and got a table right away.  Our waitress was super duper nice to us and so pleasant I love her lil spiky haird self.

I LOVE that they bring out your own glass bottle of water. My grilled cheese was amazing i added the bacon / tomato and for whoever is bickering about portion sizes.... You are kidding right? I also got the tomato soup, meh taste like spaqhetti sauce my date had fries and those were pretty lame as well.

I cant wait to go back and try some wines, champagnes and desserts!

I had frequented this place back when it was The Winehouse, and had some truly great memories with friends that kept bringing me back.  This place has improved as Press 626 for sure.

Not only do they offer an awesome selection of reasonably priced wines, but the food is killer.  I had the Cubano (hard to find a good Cubano) and it was freakin delicious.

Also, if you're a fan of salads, they let you build your own with whatever you want on it (and it's quite a extensive selection of toppings).

Service was great.  My only complaint was the desert, we shared a cupcake and it was decent but dry.  Check this place out!!!

I drink beer.  I like beer.  Ask me if I want a beer or a glass of wine- I'll want the beer.

So you can imagine my hesitation going into this place.  It's a wine bar.  You walk in and the first thing you see is a bar with no beer taps and a nice dressed fellow behind it pouring glasses of red and white, inspecting their levels and giving them to the servers.  But you're greeted with a smile from everyone there and invited to have a seat.

We sat at the bar and I hesitatingly asked for a beer list.  Without missing a beat the guy hands me the menu with the beer list on the back- not a lot to choose from, but a good selection of better beers and cheap beers including Star Hill, Unibroue, Fat Tire, and Bud.  I was instantly at ease.

This place is a bargain on Monday nights (for the women) with $3 wines.  The bartender was really knowledgeable about the wines as well as the beer.  And without being a douchebag.  Kinda hard to find in Ghent nowadays.

I like this place.  Cozy, quiet, interesting menu (from what I've read), and friendly.  Will definitely be back again.  And maybe I'll get a glass of wine too.

Great atmosphere, good service, food was tasty!

I had the grilled veggie sandwich with soup (I can't remember what kind!) We had great service and my two girlfriends and I shared a bottle of wine. We also shared a chocolate dessert that was awesome. On a Saturday night we had a little room mostly to ourselves. Altogether a great experience!

Only downsides were it was a bit dark (not a big deal for us) and when there was a family with a small child dining near us, it was a bit loud.

    Hmmph.

    Dear Press 626,

I liked you better when you were The Winehouse.

I didn't need a microscope for my dinner back in da' day.

Also, I didn't feel gypped when you made up new terms & conditions for my groupon. What? Groupon not applicable to happy hour food specials? What? Telling me AFTER I ordered, gave you my groupon, and had you charge my credit card and thus preventing me from fully benefitting from the awesome value of future discounted food? How dare you.

You get one star for the tastiness of the barramundi [what little there was] and one extra star for the yumyum wines - for which the groupon was not applicable AND which just so happens to be conveniently pre-stated, unlike OTHER made-up-on-the-spur-of-the-moment conditions. Your pork skewers were charred to death and back but your stuffed portabella mushroom thingy wasn't too shabby.

Woe is me for not reading the reviews about portion sizing and not going to lunch instead. but I love happy hours! Still, not with you, Press 626. Never again with you. lesson learned!

    Love,

    me.

Yes, like Kristin, I rode the wave of Groupons for Press 626 since I had always wanted to come by here. Going to school just across the street, I often see people sitting outside. I first thought it was someone's house, then I thought it was a coffee shop (and for those of you who know me, I don't drink coffee and thus had no interest whatsoever), but when I found out it was a restaurant I was intrigued.

First, go online and take a look at their menu. We ordered a ham and cheese croissant, grilled cheese and their panko covered pork chops. I had to resort to the pork chops after my first choice, fish and chips, was sold out. No, I was NOT happy. No one should get in between me and my beer batter!!! Hearing how great the mac and cheese was, we had it as a side..... and it was sent back. Enough said.

The pork chop was fine. Nothing wrong, but nothing outstanding. I had to add some salt to give it a little more umph.

Maybe if we were wine connoisseurs this place would be amazing! But alas, we are not. Don't get me wrong, we enjoy wine, but we don't sit there and look for the subtle differences between drinks =)

They are cramped in there! After all, it is a house that is converted into a restaurant. They have parking in the back, but on busy nights, you might have to resort to parking in the EVMS visitor parking garage on Olney.

After reading the reviews, I decided to jump on a recent Groupon for Press.  I'm not sure if the chef was having a bad night or what, but it was very forgettable.

Arrive at about 5:45 and the place was already packed so we sat at the bar.  The bartender was pleasant but a little overwhelmed.  I ordered the Hippy Chick sandwich, my husband ordered the soup - Philly Cheese Steak - and the Fish and Chips and we split a side of Macaroni and Cheese.  The soup was actually really good; it had a cheese base and it was full of chunks of beef, mushrooms and peppers.  Our entrees left something to be desired.  All of the food was bland; not seasoned AT ALL.  The Hippy Chick sandwich sounded like mega flavor packed between 2 slices of bread but all of the flavors mushed together into one bland tasting (and looking) sandwich.  The macaroni and cheese was completely underseasoned, so much so that you couldn't discern the cheeses in it.  My husbands Fish and Chips were beautifully plated and cooked but, again, no salt!!

In the end we left disappointed and glad we had not paid full price for the meal.

Amazing food! Though some people have previously commented on the lack of options in the menu, every item they offer is amazing and so well done! They do offer at least 1 choice of every type of meat as a main dish as well.

We caught part of happy hour (bonus!) and then shared the goat cheese and flat bread apps. I had the Apple Chutney Salmon which was perfectly cooked! We all split the pumpkin cheesecake which was super yummy.

Great staff, warm atmosphere, highly recommend!

Plenty of wine and exotic drinks!

Press 626 - it's actually in a 2 story house right on the corner of Olney Rd and Colley Ave.

Parking - the private lot in the back is pretty small, so just park on Olney Road.

I came here on a Tuesday night to take advantage of the "dude's happy hour" which offers a $17 ribeye and $2.50 on most domestic drafts. So I decided to go with a Merlot knowing that I will have the steak.

Mars and Venus '08 - from central valley Chile. Nice merlot glass that complimented well with the steak.

The Ribeye - I was skeptical as to why they were offering a huge ribeye for a relatively low price of $17 during happy hour. I asked and it was confirmed that the grade of meat was CHOICE. Choice is still pretty good, though not a Donovan's but definitely better than an Applebee's. I asked for medium rare. Some parts of the beef was cooked to my liking but the majority fell in the medium/medium well range. And since there is less marbling compared to a prime, the taste wasn't there especially for the medium cooked portion of my steak. On a few occasions I needed to add more salt and pepper to the steak. Still pretty good steak for $17 bucks. Served with fries, ketchup and this spicy sauce.

House made sangria - yummy, tasty and refreshing. Made with oranges, peaches and strawberries. Deeeelicious!!!

Chocolate indulgence a la mode - warm flourless chocolate cupcake served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Cupcake was kinda plain, need more sugar, but the ice cream definitely helped in that department.

Overall - Great experience, nice atmosphere, friendly staff and great food!

My new fave! Me and some girlfriends came here on a Tuesday evening and hadn't been here since it was formerly the Winehouse. We were very impressed with what they did with the space and how it was much more open and inviting. Well done.

They have a ton of specials, Monday night is gals night, Tuesday night is guys night (1/2 of entrees), and Wednesday night is WINE night (which I think is my personal fave); you get to try 37 wines for $10 DOLLARS people. That's outrageous! Additionally, on weekdays, they have happy hour until 6:30 and wines/glass are half off. I love a good special! When we arrived at 6, the bar was totally packed so if you want to sit at the bar, keep that in mind. We all ordered wine flights; $9 for whites and $11 for reds. Naturally, we all went for the most expensive glasses :)

As for the food, they have a ton of options. We ordered the BBQ shrimp to start with...it was okay. They have this cool option to essentially make your own salad with all the fixins for $10. Both my friends customized their own salads and they came out fresh and delicious. I ordered the tuna melt, which was OKAY. I would have preferred a more flavorable sauce, but it was good enough. I def want to try the Hippie Chick sandwich next go round.

Overall, great hangout spot, lively crowd, excellent drink list, and awesome specials. I plan on coming back many, many times.

One of the best sandwiches I've ever had in my life.  This is a cute, casual lunch spot conveniently located across the street from EVMS, CKHD, Sentara.  I had the "Monster Steak" panini:  plenty of meat, delicious bread, and the chipotle aioli was a nice kick.  If you love caramelized onions like me, this may be the sandwich for you.  The french fries were hot, crispy, and house cut...plus they were super long, just they way I like them.  Generous portions.   If I wasn't already stuffed, I would have tried one of their gigantic cupcakes.

Great service- our server was some guy from Atlanta who wasn't overly attentive and made sure my drink was full.  Lovely atmosphere- this would be one of my top spots to take visitors if I was in the area.  This places reminds me of restaurants in Manhattan.

Press 626 has a very inviting "local neighborhood cafe" vibe. It looks like they set up shop in one of the old colonial style houses in the neighborhood, with seating in the main dining room as well as on the front porch.

The wine menu had a decent selection of reds and whites, and for those unsure of what to try, they offer customizable wine flights for a very good price. I did not try it on this trip, but i believe it was $9 for 3 samples of whites and $11 for 3 reds.

The menu carries something for everyone. There were several fantastic sounding sandwiches, salads, and dinner entrees. They also list the daily special on a chalkboard by the front door.

We started off with a couple of beers, (They were bottles... I don't think they carry anything on tap.) while we perused the menu. The create your own salad option sounded good, but we spied some good looking sandwiches being brought to the other table and decided to go for that.

The Man got the Croque Monsieur, and he proclaimed it fantastic. It definitely lived up to the menu moniker of an "awesome ham and cheese" sammy. It was grilled with ham and swiss and topped with a creamy, savory bechamel sauce, perfect for dipping your fries into too. He opted for fries as a side, and they were ok. A little crispier would've been preferred, but they were seasoned well with salt and pepper.

I am a sucker for avocados, and ordered the Hippie Chick with a Kick. It came with a plump chicken breast, avocados, tomato, pepperjack, and jalapeno pepper jelly on sourdough. The sourdough was grilled to perfection ,the chicken breast moist, and the avocado a-plenty. While there was no detectable kick, I dabbed a little balsamic vinaigrette on it and all was good. This was the best tasting balsamic vinaigrette ever! It came on a side salad of mesclun greens. We also got a side of mac and cheese to share. It was good in an adult mac and cheese way. A mix of several cheeses served piping hot in a large crock. It needed a little sprinkle of salt, but was devoured nonetheless.

Our intention was to stop by for a light meal so we wouldn't stuff ourselves with hotdogs, popcorn and crackerjacks at the Tides game, and this did the trick. Service was friendly, portions and prices were right for the area, and the dessert list was tempting. We left full and sated,  and are planning our next visit.

I was thoroughly imPRESSed with Press 626.  Located on the corner of Olney and Colley it's a quaint little building with the perfect amount of atmosphere.  A truly great date spot that also has the versatility to host a night out with a group of friends as well.

An impressive wine list at reasonable prices is sure to please.  The menu has enough breadth to satisfy all appetites and preferences but without being overwhelming.  The food was delicious!

Their commitment to locally sourced and organic foods as a part of what they call the "Slow Food Movement" speaks to my heart and really gives them a boost up to the 5 stars.  Not to mention the have great local art for sale on the walls.  The ethos of the owners and staff shines through in their service and commitment to great principles.

I stopped in here last Friday when I had some time to spare before meeting a friend. From the outside, it looks like a quiet, unassuming place that will likely be rather low key on the inside. But when I walked up the steps and entered I was blown away by how lively and upbeat everything was. For a rainy afternoon, the place was hopping. The bar was full with well-dressed folks enjoying a good glass of wine after work, and chatting with friends. I really liked some of the wall art, and the lights over the bar were warm and inviting.

There are 5 or 6 small tables to the left when you enter, and a larger table tucked at the back of the bar where a group of 6 could probably sit and have some private conversation. When I was there the room to the right was being used for a private party and was decorated very nicely. It looked like a really neat place to have a party.

I wish I had more time to try the food, but since I was just stopping in I ordered a sandwich to go. The Monster Steak Sandwich was great and I couldn't stop myself from trying it as I drove because it smelled so good. It came with a choice of several sides, and I chose the green salad. This was no bland ice burg salad, but rather a wonderful mixed green salad with a tasty balsamic dressing.

I definitely plan on going back with friends, and recommend trying it. I look forward to trying the rest of their menu.

Oh, I also noticed a wheelchair lift on the side of the building, so it is full-access.
