There are literally tons of places to eat and drink in the convention center area of Orlando and the Orlando Pointe shopping complex but there is really only one choice for great value and exceptional service: The Pub! Â From the moment I saw it from the outside, I knew i was going to enjoy it. I love beer and their selection was amazing and so was the variety of British foods on the menu. The Scotch Egg was amazing. Really. Amazing.
I would say overall, however, it was our sever, Kaila, that made our experience at the Pub the best. We received great personal attention from Kaila, she was very knowledgable about the menu and the many different options on the beer menu. She even had a very good knowledge of Scotch when my friend ordered one of the fights.
She is definitely the star of the show at the Pub and if you are looking for the best service, make sure you get a table in her section.
Great food. Great Beers (oh, and the grapefuit and basil martini was awsome!) and exception service make The Pub a place I will for sure visit again very soon. Probably tonight, actually.
I've heard about Happy Hour at the Pub, so my husband and I stopped in after seeing a movie. For Happy Hour the beers are $3.00 for schooner draughts. They also have select appetizers for about $4.00. I can't comment on the food because we already ate before we got there. They have a decent beer selection here. They beer is categorized by where the beer is from. They have beers from Ireland and England. I also appreciated the American beer selection that wasn't your typical Bud products. The bartender was very friendly and gave me a couple samples to try before I ordered. After I made my choice he then gave me another sample of something else he thought I would like. I really appreciate when bartenders allow you and want you to try new beers. Something unique about The Pub is the do flights of not only beer but different whiskeys and Scotches also. They do have a pour your own beer wall that looked interesting to try. Next time I am in the area I will stop in for more drinks and to try their food.
Review Source:Bangers and Mash. This place feels like a British Pub. The food is quite good, the Wings are excellent, and the service is pretty awesome. Every time we are in Orlando, we try to visit at least once. If you like Beer, they have many different brands to choose from and I think you can even buy a pour your own ticket and try different one's.
It is also very large and comfortable.
Hey, great happy hour. I didn't try the food because I was over stuffed from eating at the worst place I've ever eaten the Boston lobster all you can eat thing. The walking back to my tell I decide to stop in and had a great pine a beer for $3 happy hour price! Â The menu doesn't look exceptional but I don't know that what they have isn't good
Lots of good beer on a hot day!
This place was awesome. We kind of just ran into it but the food and atmosphere was great! We had a large group and they sat us right in front of the beer tap wall. You could just get up and refill your beer with a card! The food was also delicious I got the blue cheese wedge and the spicy wasabi shrimp and fried pickles as an appetizer! Yum!
Review Source:This place is in the middle of the tourist area in Orlando by the convention center. Its in the big Pointe Orlando shopping area and you have to pay for parking in the garage. That being said this place is well worth the hassle. I have been there 4 or 5 times and I am never disappointed. They have a beer club and a pour your own drink option there if that is your thing. We have sampled a lot of the menu and have loved everything we have tried. For appetizers we have tried the scotch egg, spinach and artichoke dip, goat cheese dip,and the cheese bollocks and everything has been great. They often do 2 for 1 specials on appetizers and i recommend you take advantage of it. Though we have tried a couple items on the menu we are constantly drawn back to the fish and chips. The fish is a large one piece fillet. I am not sure of the type of fish but it is breaded and fried perfectly everytime. The tarter sauce is home made and is perfect. You dont get a ton of chips with it but the fish is so large it doesnt matter. Its a cool environment and a great theme. Lots of tvs and a great selection on the menu
Review Source:This is a cool place away from the craziness of Disney. Â I had clam chowder and fish and chips and on another visit had a burger. Â The soup was good, nothing spectacular. Â The fish and chips were very good. They give you a huge portion so come hungry or share. Â The fish is fluffy and lightly breaded to perfection. Â The burger I ordered medium rare and it came out over cooked, other than that it was of decent size and had nice seasoning. Â This place also has quite a few beers on tap.
Review Source:A solid place to enjoy for lunch or dinner. A nice and spacious bar and dining area, with the décor of what you'd expect from an English pub. There's a 40+ bottle selection of bourbons and scotches and, I believe, 40 beers on tap that included your typical English and Irish beers, as well as craft beers. The price of the beers was about what you'd expect and not entirely unreasonable, particularly for being on I-Drive.
I've had the lamb burger and the reuben panini and both were quite good. Along with the steak fries, the quantity and quality was well worth the price. Good service at the bar and at the table, though the place wasn't packed at the times I was there. Just an all around good place. Would love to have a place like this in Gainesville.
I have been to the Pub in other locations before, but my first time at the Orlando location was for my husband's birthday. He was really happy to see this place while we were traveling, because although it is a chain, it is a pretty cool spot.
We ordered a scotch sampler because we were trying to be adventurous, and pretty immediately regretted it! I suppose it is an acquired taste! To be honest, by the end of the glasses, we were liking it a lot more.
The server was nice, attentive enough without being overbearing. Later, we ordered the bourbon bread pudding, which was awesome!
It was a Saturday night, but not too busy... A good start to the night.
Went to The Pub for the first time tonight for a friend's birthday. Â The interior was decorated interesting. Â Our table of 8 had 3 chairs on either side with a big throne-like comfy chair at either end.
I was only there for a quick appetizer and drink. Â I had the Twist & Shout. Â Tasted really yummy without tasting too strong. Â A friend and I split the goat cheese dip. Â We asked for the marinara sauce and almonds on the side since I don't like either. Â The cheese dip with pita chips was also very good. Â I would order both again!
How fun! I went there for lunch on a Sunday and the place was pretty empty. To clarify, all the restaurants on International Drive seemed pretty empty, too.
The food was decent. Hard to find something if you're gluten-free like I am, but I was able to get a burger and fries. It came with a fried pickle, which I would have drooled over when I was not gluten-free. I peeled the batter off it and ate it anyway.
What makes The Pub a neat find is their whiskey selection. They have a lot of top-shelf stuff that goes beyond typical bar swill (Jack Daniels and Jim Beam). They offered nearly every variation of Glenlivit and Glenmorangie, most of the Glenfiddich line, Odan, Ardberg, Bookers, Bakers, Blantons, etc. There's also a large beer and wine selection, but I digress...
You can purchase flights (yay) of Bourbons and Scotches for a reasonable price ($12 for three 1-oz Bourbons, $15 for three 1-oz Scotches). They have a beer flight special as well.
The waitstaff seemed very friendly and attentive. I sat at the bar and the bartender was chatty. That's fine because I'm traveling alone and it helps pass the time, and I enjoy talking to people.
My burger was quite good. The fries were typical steak fries. I was given a choice between fries, chips or a vegetable. There was a lot of British, Irish and Scottish fare to choose from which, again, if I wasn't gluten-free, I would have been all over.
This is a chain style "British" themed pub geared toward the tourists. The food is ok, what you'd probably expect from a chain restaurant. Not great, but ok. The fish and chips are particularly disappointing - Fish was not crispy at all and the chips were the same frozen oven chips you can make at home. The best part about this place is the bar. It is a great place to sit and have a decent beer. Beer selection is relatively small, but they do have some great options.
Cool casual place to hang out and grab a beer, that bumps it from a 2 to a 3 IMO.
The Pub is an interesting mix of decor, food, and beer. Â You can get a beer card and serve yourself from a variety of beers on tap. Â That was pretty cool. Â
Our server was Kristen C. Â She was very energetic and enthusiastic. Â On her recommendation, I ordered the Fish and Chips. Â It was pretty good. Â The fish was way bigger than I expected. Â
I would definitely go back. Â The vibe in this place was pretty legit.
Pretty much everything on the menu is awesome. Had some of 3 or 4 appetizers and they were all excellent. The lamb burger was amazing, and the fries they serve with it are really good too. Everyone in our group said their food was great. There's plenty of beer and the prices on everything are not too bad. Much better than I expected going in!
Review Source:Great service and beer selection when we swung by here as stop in a Monday night of bar crawling while in town for a conference. 1 of the 2 most populated places of the evening. Good stuff and would be a solid 4.5 or 5 stars, BUT..
I went back the next day to grab a quick bite of lunch: Ahi Tuna wrap sounded delicious but was not very well executed (especially after having GREAT ahi tuna wraps at Daily Grill). Not much fish, too much cucumber and greens which threw off the taste and texture. Add that to the fact that it was a to-go order and they didn't include silverware or napkins in my bag (I got a side salad and needed a fork), which I didn't realize until I was too far to go back.
I'd go back to drink, but probably not eat unless it was for more classic, hard-to-miss bar food like a burger or something.
**Started this on mobile, and went back the next night to drink (it was fun and easy walking distance to our hotel - the Peabody). The pour-your-own taps are a lot of fun, although the system is a little glitchy. Not recommended if you don't know how to pour yourself properly, but if you do: Good times!
I really do not like going to the tourististic areas of Orlando, but I happened to be at Pointe Orlando for a comedy club. Afterwards, I wanted to find a place that seemed inviting but not packed-
While walking around the Pointe, I walked by The Pub. I was curious to see how it was because it looked pretty neat inside. I sat at the bar and saw that they had beer flights (I love variety) and I ordered one. The bartender guy was real nice by smiling and being genuine- checking up on us every so often.
I don't really have anything bad to say about this place. The decorations they have in the place was cool to look at. Cool place. Nothing really bad to say about it besides the prices were a tad bit pricier than the local bar.
Very good American version of a British pub. Â They have a great variety of beers and ales. Â Food is typical pub style, so don't expect healthy. Â The ambience is very nice with lots of wood and brass features nicely executed giving the place a traditional British feel.
Loads of young, energetic servers. Â Located on I-Drive at The Pointe.
Came here for a late lunch and though the place had a really cool vibe and decor. good service, huge selection of beer. Â If you are into all type of beers, this place will suit you right, and the food was not bad at all. We order the pot roast, british sausage and fish and chips. The pot roast was super tender, juicy and had a great flavor. The sausages( bangers & mash) was good but really nothing to write home about, but they had a nice flavor nonetheless. The Fish and chips was pretty good, and i was surprised to see that they actually deep fry a whole fish! the fish was extremely flaky and i was seasoned perfectly.
The real star of the night was the Dessert. The Jamaican cheesecake was AMAZING!! i will totally recommend to give this one a try.
Service was great, music was just unbearably loud on my visit. I could barely hear myself think, let alone enjoy my meal.
Business was pretty slow when i dropped in, so everything came out pretty quick.
I had a burger on this visit that was topped with a very tangy cheese spread. The cheese was a slathered on a bit much, but overall pretty good. The burger was a little on the dry side, would have enjoyed it a little under done.
Overall, I would recommend.
I have to say I love the atmosphere and decor of The Pub. Â I have only been once, and this review is for the Happy Hour only. Â We came during the Italy vs Germany soccer game around 3 PM. Â It wasn't really dead, but then again, not to packed....I asked to sit near a TV, and was immediately seated. Â the problem is the TV's are really small... With that said, I asked about the happy hour specials.
Great news, any beer on draught is only $3 for a Schooner (I think that's 15oz). Â While not super cheap, definitely decent for the touristy area. Â They also offer $3.95 appetizers during happy hour. Â Sounds great..well too good to be true. Â The $3.95 Appetizers are 1/2 appetizers.. Â So basically you are ordering and paying for 1/2 of an appetizer...what? Â We ordered the calamari, goat cheese and fried pickles...all below average. Â The beer is good and cold. Â I recommend the Young's Double Chocolate Stout.
My advice would be if you are in the area and want to go to a "sports bar" or "pub", this would do the trick. Â I would stay away from the food though....
Pretty ordinary food in Orlando. Nice large and vibrant environment. If you want some draft beer this is the place. Friendly service but the food. Blah. I had a burger. Always a good test for a bar. It was greasy and boring. Â My wife had the Shepherds Pie. Definitely the best meal on the table. It was good.
All told, a fun place but don't go for the food.
Couldn't decide where to go for lunch, so hit the Google maps to see what was around the area I am staying. Â I came across The Pub (Orlando) checked the website and their menu, the prices and food selection told me that this is where we were going to do lunch. Â Problem we ran into was with Google Maps. Â They had the mapped address showing up in the totally wrong location. Â It placed the address in the Orange County Convention Center. Â I have submitted a change to Google Maps and will email management of this fabulous restaurant and suggest they check to make sure Google's maping program is sending everyone to the right location. Â I'd hate to see any of you miss this gem!!
Now back to the review; Â The Pub Orlando, located at 9101 International Drive, Ste. 1003, Orlando, is in an area next to the Peabody Hotel in a location known as The Pointe on the North bound side of International Drive . Â This is a complex which houses several eateries and shops along with movie theatre.
Though they open at 11am, they took us in about 15 minutes or so early which was good as we had convention classes we had to attend. The place is a British style sports bar/pub. Â The decor was very pleasing to check out. Â A lot of really nice woodwork. Â Having a party, there is one long table which has king and queen thrones at each end. Â The waitress we had, Sarah, was top notch!! Â She knew her stuff and provided high quality service that we hadn't been receiving at some of the other eateries we have gone to while here.
The food came out quickly, was hot, and VERY tasty. Â The drinks, well in my case, I tried the cider. Â Not mom's apple cider! Â The first cider was very sweet as I was told it would be, but the second cider was a more crisp taste, slightly sweet and was the one I preferred.
We had Scotch Eggs (hard boiled egg, wrapped with sausage, coated in parmesan bread crumbs and deep fried, served with mustard). Â We also had their beerbattered fried cheese or as they call it, The Big Cheese! Â Another great appetizer. Â Mozzarella and provolone cheeses spheres fried in
their famous beer batter. Served with marinara sauce. Â No, I didn't come in here to eat salad, however you could have that if you wished (but it won't be deep fried).
For the main course, had their Welch Dip Pub Pretzel, Sliced prime rib, green peppers, onions, melted mozzarella and provolone cheeses served with au jus. This was served on a Pretzel Roll. Â It all just melts in your mouth. Â Their "au jus" is more of what I would call a German brown hunters gravy with out the mushrooms, but was very good and worked perfectly with this sandwich!
I feel the prices are very good. Â Especially in this area. It doesn't matter which hotel you may be staying, you don't want to miss this eatery. Â So far on this trip, the best food and service has come from The Pub Orlando. Â Check it out!!
I've got certain rules in life and one of them is never trust restaurants that are right next to hotels or especially IN hotels. Â They're usually over-priced and not very good but thankfully I was surprised tonight! Â Staying in the Rosen Plaza hotel and I spot the Pub right across the street. Â Impressive looking place, little patio out front, inside it's all high ceilings, ornate woodwork and ceramic mugs all over the place. Â The waitstaff also all wears kilts which is sorta cool (men and women). Â
I plop myself down at the bar and the place is busy. Â Lotsa noise and activity but the guys behind the bar know their stuff. Â Long beer list focused on ales from the UK, I go with a speckled hen, a creamy light ale. Â I order up some bangers and mash which is a nice plate of two sausages, a small mound of mashies and some peas and carrots. Â The bangers were nicely grilled with some spicy kick to them. Â And loved the onion gravy that came with it. Â On comes a thunderstorm so it looks like I'm staying for dessert. Â I go with the recommended tilted laird: Â fried poundcake with berries and english custard. Â Great stuff, the poundcake was super light with a bit of crisp and the custard is a nice contrast.
Overall I was really impressed with the pub. Â They do a team service but do a very good job at it. Â The food was definitely above average, great beer list, cool decor and of course, very good service. Â To top it off, prices were really reasonable for a tourist area. Â So yeah, there goes my rule about eating near the hotel. Â So if you are staying at the Rosen Plaza hotel, hop on across the street and check out the Pub. Â Pretty sure you'll be pleasantly surprised just like me!
This is a great spot to watch Muscle bound gorgeous men in tight tshirts and pants.
What a great spot to watch street style from Grandpa attire in his garbadine to the shorts shorts and bra sporting women wandering into Cubra Libre.
This pub is great for beer and can be very loud from the patrons and the music coming from Cubra Libre next door.
My fav app there is the Fried pickle and spring roll.
Pro's
Great spot for people watching
Great beer
Very flavourful food
Cons
Loud
Slow service
Small portion for the price
This has become my fav spot to people watch on  the pointe :)
Enjoy,
Maggie
Loved the Pineapple Upside Down Cake Martini - suggested by my server, who was kind, patient, and knowledgeable!
Had the Belhaven Burger, grilled medium, with chips (french fries) and a fried pickle - also excellent!
This location just had its grand opening in February 2012...as a conference attendee, Â put this place down as a definite go-to with several colleagues.
Amazing. Awesome. Soooo good. Yes. YES. Yes. Incredible.
Pour your own beer. YES! Got to sample whatever I wanted...and for about 2.5 glasses (14oz each) each for two people we paid $15 for beer. Plus they had a great selection and it was fun!
Our server was super helpful and hilarious. Great pub atmosphere. Great tunage.
Everything we ate was fabulous. From the spring rolls (which were actually more like egg rolls - fried) to the huge chunks of some of the most tender fried calamari I've ever had (plus this kickass curry sauce and chili sauce for the dippins'). Then we shared the lamb sliders and the welsh dip pretzel (think actual soft chewy pretzel (not to be confused with a pretzel bun (half pretzel flavor, half bun)) gets it on w/ a philly cheese steak sandwich and a large miracle is born). Also amazing.
Open one of these in Chicago ASAP. Seriously. Do. It.
