Great food, atmosphere is hilarious!!!! I love it!

The decor is outdated and boring, the atmosphere is uncomfortable, and the food isn't as "amazing" as everyone says. Our waitress was really weird, touchy-feely, and came around to check on us WAY too often. And the salad bar? Meh. Just a typical salad bar. Nothing special. In fact, it was quite small. As for desserts, the selection is a half-step below that of a diner's. My date's burger was unseasoned and bland. However, my crab cake sandwich was the only thing that gave this review two stars instead of one; it was quite tasty.

The Pub is far and away my favorite restaurant. It's unique in every way. It's beena round since long before I was born (since 1950). It's survived burning to the ground and once going out of business. Through all of that nothing much has changed at all. One of the first unique things about The Pub is the HUGE dining room. The slightly medeival themed room seats over 500 people at a time yet it's still quiet. I've never heard anything above a low murmur and there is always plenty of room to move around as you go to one of the two salad bars.

Speaking of the salad bars, they are fantastic. They include blocks of cheese from which you can cut off slices, various kinds of cake breads (in case the delicious crusty bread on your table isn't enough for you) fruit, applesauce, along with a wide variety of salads and salad ingredients. However, I usually skip past most of this stuff and head right to the giant bowl of Caesar salad and pile my plate high. The Pub's Caesar salad is one of the best I've had. The always fresh salad is made especially delicious by the plentiful anchovies scattered throughout.

The focal point of the dining room is the row of six coal fired ovens where chefs in big white hats turn out fantastic steaks. The pub has a fair number of entees ranging from seafood to chicken, to all sorts of steaks. I, however, typically stick to the best filet mignon I've had at any restaurant. It's served wth massive onion rings and a potato. I recommend the twice baked stuffed potato. I also recomend taht you ask for some of their browned onions to go with your steak. They're free, but you have to ask for them. In another unique touch, your steak will arrive at your table on a cart to be taken from a heated tray and plated right at the table.

If you want something a little more unique, try my father's favorite, the capetbagger. It's a filet spread with crabmeat and hollandaise sauce.

The only negative is the location. Although, it's certainly never stopped me from going. The Pub is located at the maze of an intersection that used to be Airport Circle. It might take you a few tries to get in the correct lane. Of course, this should be no problem for a practiced New Jersey driver.

Back in the 60's and early 70's going to The Pub was a special treat that my parents would occasionally work into the budget.  Back then a jacket was required and there was a touch of class to the meal.   The prime rib was the main attraction, but the great salads and breads were a great compliment.  Since those old days, the decor has not changed at all and it could use a bit of a facelift with better lighting and a fresh carpeting, but it's just getting tired not disgusting (yet).  Sadly, the days of formality are long gone and logo tee shirts have replaced the jackets and ties of my youth.  The clientele has changed a bit too and it is astonishing how many people lack basic manners, but The Pub can't choose it's customers either.  The food is still great and the prime rib is still king.  On a recent visit I ordered the prime rib instead of the Managers Special prime rib.  It was outstanding, but as big as the plate!  I only could eat a portion of it, but it made an outstanding couple of sandwiches from the doggy bag over the next few days.  The salad bar is OK but the Caesar salad runs out frequently when it's crowded and it seems to be empty for long periods.  The service is dependent on your wait staff.  It seems that there are some staff that have been there for many years and truly know the meaning of good service.recently though on a less than busy night we had a younger waitress who seemed more annoyed by our simple questions and requests.  She was much more interested in flirting with a couple of biker dudes and critiquing their tattoos (another unfortunate drastic separation from the days of ties and jackets).  Using a coupon for some reason also seemed like an unpleasant chore for her.  More often than not we've has polite, seasoned staff but obviously some are much better than others.  Go for the food these days and let the carnivore in you feast on a good prime rib with onion soup.  The 1 1/2 drinks seem to be a thing of the past too and the drinks can be pricy, but overall The Pub is still a good value.

I've gone to the Pub quite a few times and love their salad bar--it's one of the best. The manager's special has always been a favorite of mine, cooked perfectly each time.  The only thing I would change is the decor and lighting -- the decor seems like from mid-evil times and lighting needs to be brighter. Outside of that I'll definitely be back:)

Another great steak house. Been here since 1952. Been eating here since the 70s. The steaks are great, the price decent, the salad bar expansive, and the decor hasn't changed in 60 years. It's a leather and midevil theme, this us your grandfathers steak house. Charming it its own way. Probably the place that created the steakhouse concept.

First time here.  Decor is very old time.  I went during weekday dinner time and there's plenty of spaces and no wait.

Salad bar has enough variety.  Veggies are crisp and fresh.  I ordered crab meat.  OMG.  It is soooo good.  Must try!  Huge portions.  Big chunks of crab meat.  I feel that it's a little over priced, but will go back for special occasions.

I remember the Pub in a different space and time-over thirty years ago. Maybe my taste buds have matured  since then, or have become jaded, but neither the salad bar nor the steak met my expectations. Medium is well done, and the cuts of meat themselves are not of the highest quality. My $5.99/lb steak from the local shoprite is better.

So, if it is nostalgia you are looking for, take a trip back in time and enjoy that for what it is. The food is average at best. The service was excellent as was the dining room.

Go here for dinner NOT Lunch. Dinner is really good and service was good. Lunch was the exact opposite. Steaks were cooked perfectly and the saladbar was pretty extensive. Try the snapper soup.

The Pub is decent enough.  Since 3 stars means "A-OK":  I give it 3 stars.

The Pub is a true South Jersey, old faithful, landmark.  It is absolutely frozen in the 1970s but I think that's actually part of the charm at this point.  The food is OK (maybe not always A-OK) but it's consistent and gives perks like soup and salad that some people (especially seniors) rave about.

I'm never dying to go to this place but I never object when someone else wants to.  I've been here mostly for lunch and a few banquet events.

    First the good:
can you say MEAT?  When my plate arrived, all I could say was HOLY COW!  All the rumors are true, you get gigantic portions (unless you order shrimp...) I felt like Fred Flintstone!  Food was good. Ambiance was as expected, however a bit crowded for a Saturday afternoon.

So why the 3 stars you ask?
Upon entering, we were met with the essence of a bar; dark and dank.  The faint aroma of old beer filled the air.  I like it a bit brighter. Because the place is named "PUB", they get a pass on this one.
Our server had bit of a "tude"...  Apparently we were taking a bit too long deciding what to eat, so I had to tell her that it was our first time here and ask what the specials were.  She rambled quickly through the specials and asked if we needed more time. Really??? I might as well tip myself.  No pass here, minus one star.

Salad bar was ok... first, the salad bar is situated in the corner, very close to people eating.  You have to circle around single file to fill your plate while bumping into people sitting (or the idiot that decides to go against the flow of traffic...) .  Veggies were fresh, but only iceberg lettuce for greenery.  I usually have mixed feelings about salad bars, mostly because it is either people who make a mess of salad dressing spoons or unsupervised children playing with the food who spoil the fun.

For the amount of money I was paying, I was a little disappointed that I had to pay $2.50 for a glass of cranberry juice, 2/3 full of ice.  I was even more annoyed to find that refills were not complementary and I was charged $2.50 for another glass full of ice. (Hmm... server gets another star subtracted. ) I had a long hot day walking around the museum in Philly and I just wanted to unwind with a cold glass of something besides water and ice chips.

And BTW, this place gets 3 $$$.  Price for 4 dinners (no apps, no alcoholic drinks & no desert) cleared $100, and one of those dinners was off the kids menu!

My final thoughts on this place was that it is an oversized Charlie Brown's.  I like their salad bar better anyway.  :)

I am torn about this place.  First off, if you haven't been coming here your whole life, first impressions might be a bit of a shock.  Its very cheesy catering hall meets medieval times.

And that leads to my dilemma... The average dinner price is easily $25.  If I'm dropping $50-60 on a date, I'd like a place that had more appeal than the local Old Country Buffet.  Right down to the tackiness of having a bathroom attendant in a restroom resembling one out of a run down high school.  And our server... it doesn't matter how nice you are if I can't understand a word you're saying, christ!

All that said, the food is really pretty good.  The salad bar, the entrees.  And huge portions to boot.  I couldn't imagine going to a 'nicer' restaurant and getting the amount of food for the price.

In the end, I think the Pub can best be described as "an experience".  It definitely is memorable I'll put it that way.  Be prepared for a ton of food and wood paneling on the walls.

I love love love The Pub. Eating here will make you feel like you're dining at the Renaissance faire (just hand me a turkey leg and a velvet dress and you're good to go!) but the food is great. They have some delicious selections on their salad bar, with my favorite being the zucchini bread.  They have some of the best crab cakes I've ever eaten, too.

Whether you're a seafood lover like I am, or a pure carnivore like my husband (who highly recommends the 26oz porterhouse), you'll find something delicious and quite large to eat. The portions are enough to feed you for two days, so be prepared to take home some of your meal. The only thing I don't like about the place is you dine extremely close to your neighbors, but I guess it's all part of the experience.

Yeah, this place is amazing.  My parents used to go here 40 years ago. I had the porterhouse that was cooked to perfection - tender and delicious.  Next time, I'd go with the mashed potatoes in lieu of the twice baked potato, but the steak was terrific.  The experience is antiquated, but the food is outstanding.

    Absolutely incredible.
We just went here tonight for the first time and fell in love.  Very strange atmosphere- all knights and jousting material.  But once you taste the food, you forget all about that. The salad bar offered a much larger variety than most.  I got the "Carpet Bagger" for my meal which included a 9oz filet mignon and some crabmeat.  Portions are more than enough and everything was delicious.
I didn't like the security in the parking lot. Kind of weird.  And also, our waiter was semi-retarded so he messed up alot, but whatever.
I liked the dark, open feel to the restaurant.
I knew once we stepped out of the parking lot and the smell of steak hit us that tonight would be a good night!

I grew up with a staunch fear of beheaded woodland creatures because of The Pub, so how can I not give it five stars?

Seriously, I grew up with The Pub.  Even when I was little and I would ride in the back of our conversion van to the shady parking lot in Jersey, "The Pub" was always synonymous with MEAT.  I'm pretty sure I had my very first steak here.  And I would always look on in wonder and amazement as my dad and brothers would all wolf down their own Cattleman's Cut prime rib fillets.  And I vowed that one day I would live up to their mighty manliness.

So what is there to say about The Pub?  First off, it's huge.  From the outside, it almost looks like a mix between an old warehouse and zombie-proof urban fortification.  Inside, it's got a very outdoorsy theme.  Deer heads, bear heads, and even moose heads line the thick, wooden walls.  The ceilings are high, and the actual dining area is immense.  How waiters don't get lost amidst the mass of tables and humanity astounds me.  The hot, brick ovens are always spitting flames just on the opposite side of the room from the main entrance, and it really gives you a warm, in-the-mountains kind of feel, as if you're dining in an enormous cabin.  With lots of steak.

And oh dear God, the steak.  Thick, succulent, juicy, *insert stereotypical beef adjective here*.  You won't find any better steak in south Jersey than this.  The Cattleman's Cut is the Incredible Hulk of prime ribs.  When I was younger, I can remember my dad carefully and silently emptying his plate of all traces of meat.  He was a master, and I was his humble apprentice, patiently observing and learning as he stomached over a pound of cow flesh in one sitting.

And this was all after the salad bar - an expansive buffet of greenery and toppings.  Fresh hardboiled eggs, crumbled bacon, salted sunflower seeds, anchovies... Pile them high onto a bed of Caesar-dressed Romaine lettuce, and you've got yourself a veritable meal in itself.

Sometimes, on a rainy night, I'll still think of the tall, towering cake display in the lobby, spinning its lush delights in circles as I clawed at the glass with my fingertips, having already spent all my quarters at the arcade.  Sigh.  The nostalgia that this restaurant holds for me is palpable.  If you haven't tried it yet, please give it a shot.  Bring your kids.  Make it a family tradition that lives in their hearts and stomachs like it's lived in mine.

    Oh yes... Oh hell yes!!

This is one of my usual places to suggest when we have a babysitter and want to have a nice night out.  It's kid friendly, but my kids aren't restaurant friendly.

Everything I have eaten at this place is on point! The steaks and prime rib are ALWAYS cooked to perfection.  The portions are huge and the prices are reasonable.

There is usually a wait on Saturday nights, but they are also accurate when giving you an estimated wait time.  They may even sit you down sooner than expected.

They have a large bar where you can get a drink while you wait and lots of seating available.

DEFINITELY go here...especially if you're a meat eater.  The steak are phenomenal!

Oh man, what's not to love about The Pub?

You want steak? They got it. It is delicous, comes in every cut, shape, and size - and is always cooked the way you want it. And the prices are so reasonable.

Go to The Pub for a fun experience - its totally hokey 'knights of the round table' feel in the dining hall (but you won't be laughing after hitting up the delicious salad bar that comes as a part of every meal... Maybe you'll still be laughing - but you'll fall in love with the kitsch.)

They also have some great apps and other non-steak dishes -- but your portions are so large that you really don't need an appetizer.

The waiting area is ENORMOUS and fell out of the 70's.
Back in the day I understand, you'd have to spend a lot of time there as they didn't take reservations - but there's a long and winding bar with nice staff and little nooks around to relax till your table is ready or your party arrives.

They've got a coat check, large bathroom with a fab powder room area lined with big lightbulbs & counterspace and a dessert display that has the most gigantic, delicious pieces of cake just twirling around -- all in the lobby of this strange but awesome place.

Great for groups, and families too.

Come hungry, hang out, and order a delicious mixed drink or beer from their decent selection (I suggest checking out their chocolatey mixed drinks! Yum!)

It was my first time this past Saturday and I was amazed by this unique dining experience! I really loved it there and want to go back again soon. The outdated decor (Medieval/Gothic) may seem freaky to some, but I think it is so cool!

The salad bar is fabulous. It has the best Caesar salad I've ever had! It has huge blocks of cheese that you can slice from for your salads. Never in my life have I seen a salad bar offer that before.

My beau got the charcoaled ribeye steak with wine au jus--it was easily a 1lb or more! He literally wanted to lift up the plate and drink the au jus, it was that good. But he resisted that idea, instead using his spoon to sip it. ;)

I got the baked stuffed flounder. Absolutely divine! Perfectly cooked and tasty.

And the service? They bring everything out to you on a cart in the broiler, so it is fresh, hot, and perfect. And the bread???!!?!? OMG!

We both opted for $6 glasses of the house Merlot wine. Very good!

Our waiter was super nice, super prompt, and extremely knowledgeable and accommodating! No wonder it's been around 50+ years & always packed.

I feel like I missed out on something special all these years. It's unlike any dining experience I've ever had & I've had quite a few! ;)

I must go back another time!

A South Jersey Icon!  The Pub!
No,  I don't believe the carpet or decor has been changed since the 1930's,  however the service and the food is still very good!  The Pub has had it's ups and downs over the decades.  Currently, I believe they're on an UPTICK.  The Famous Drink list, and Salad bar still exists.  The Hearths and Table Side Serving is still alive and kicking!  Meats are Cooked to order and served Table Side.  Fresh loaves of Bread and Butter at each table.  This famous South Jersey Steak House is a Must Visit if you're coming to SJ!

This place is a South Jersey institution.

When I was a little kid, I always thought the bathroom was so fancy... it had a couch and I, apparently, had low bathroom standards when I was a kid.

We went for my dad's birthday in December as we do for either Father's Day or his birthday, every year. It's loud, and it looks like the hotel dining room in The Shining but it's so good! The steaks are amazing. The Prime Rib is the specialty. The salad bar is awesome, comes with every meal and is HUGE.

The bar is AWESOME. They also have amazing desserts, I think their cakes come from Sweet Eats!

You can always find a $20 off coupon if you look in the Courier or sign up for their emails.

I am biased... very biased.  This restaurant is at the heart of my family. My grandfather worked in the kitchen over 50 years ago, and for as many years it was the go-to place for 'nice' family meals.

Once upon a time, over 20 years ago when I was a kid, we'd dress up for meals at the Pub... not just nice jeans or even a cotton dress. No, we'd wear those now embarrassing 'special' dresses with bows and satin that identically matched the one for my big sister. You'd check your coat feeling ashamed that you didn't come in a fur one. Jeans were unheard of, g-d forbid you'd show up in them. The wait was hours long, piled out the door, and the family would sit at the bar listening the lounge pianist and sipping cocktails. The air smelled of pit smoke and cigars. Women paused in the power room, sitting on the now faded cushions to carefully apply their lipstick in the mirror.  My father would have to take my hand to escort me to the back of the restaurant in order to marvel at the gigantic open, wood fire oven.  I looked forward to my Shirley Temple here ever year and the leftovers wrapped to look like a foil swan. It's where I learned to order a steak and a proper drink. It's where I learned how to eat ribs and operate a sharp knife like a proper lady.  And as the Pub slowly started to slip into what it is today, my mom would always leave complaining about how nobody appreciates real, quality American service and food anymore.

I haven't been to the Pub in about two years, partially because I've moved away and partially because it brings back too many memories. While the food is eerily identical, as is the decor, the people just aren't.  I don't think they see how special this place is, or once was. To me, the Pub is not for Sunday football or televisions, or jeans or t-shirts or being 'casual'.  I'm not normally the nostalgic type, but I miss the old Pub.

Please, Yelpers give it a try once again. Dress up. Order a Manhattan at the bar.  Bring your best friends or closest family. Order a steak with care. Eat you baked potato slathered in butter. Appreciate it's simplicity.  Put yourself in a time that has long past, that Mad Men can only begin to portray. Take the night as a lesson in culinary history rather than culinary arts.  You'll be glad you did.

It was my mother's birthday and it was also Sunday....Football Sunday and my family takes its football Sundays very seriously!

The Pub situated our tables near the TV instead of the dining room and then served us as they got into the game with us!  We had a ball!  All 10 of us!  Babies included!  As we lost the game, the waiters got as upset as we did!  It was like a wonderful restaurant and Sports bar combined....The food was Outstanding and the management was so accomodating, I had to write about it!  Thanks Pub!  We will return!!!
    Hopefully during football season!  :-)

Stepping into The Pub is like stepping into a time warp-- Three's Company meets Bob Guccione.

A good thing about the menu was that anything you ordered was paired with unlimited serving of the salad bar and your choice of sides--mashed potatoes, baked potato, or their twice baked

Since moving to the area 5 years ago, I've heard nothing but good things about The Pub.  Finally, after acquiring a $20 coupon from The Courier-Post I decided to try it.

The steaks and ribs lived up to their reputation.  Everyone in my party who ordered steaks were impressed with how perfectly cooked they were - most ordered medium rare.

I had the 1/2 rack of ribs - I wanted to lick the bones repeatedly, but resisted.  The tangy bbq sauce had a slight kick of spice which really livened up these fall-off-the-bone ribs.

The food is excellent.  The atmosphere is dated, although it's great for all generations.  I even brought my infant and noticed there were at least 3 other families with small babies too.  The wait staff is down to earth and casual.

I found the prices to be on the expensive side, however the cuts and quality of meat can fetch those price tags.

Maybe next time I will save room for dessert from their revolving cake case.  The cakes look amazing/

I will go again....IF I get another coupon.

    Update:

I had the opportunity to go back and it was just terrible.  The food was just plain bad.  We ate less then 1/2 of each meal.  The service was really bad,  we were just a tip waiting to happen.

Based on this visit, I will never go back......

I have been here twice - once when I was 5 and once recently at 50.  I get the feeling is has not changed one bit.

Huge portions, a little expensive - average food (not great for the price) but OK.  Maybe when I'm 100 I will go back one more time.

You can't live in America and say you haven't seen the Statue of Liberty.

You can't visit South Jersey without coming to The Pub.

The Pub, I am proud to say, is among the few last standing iconic restaurants that has survived over the years. Nothing seems to have changed. (OK maybe the prices but that's everywhere) The atmosphere of The Pub could possibly be the best part about this dining experience. I can't help but feel as though I am in Medieval Times about to enjoy a juicy steak. There are also several large ovens facing outward, a very cool effect.

I haven't been in quite some time, but I came here many a time with my family as a young boy. My dad raves about the Prime Rib, and if anyone knows good steak, it's this guy. Some memorable dishes that I have had include the chicken parm and flounder stuffed with crabmeat. Both were exceptional.

Service has always been right on point. Bread is the bomb. The salad bar is more fun than a regular bar.

The Pub is located on what used to be the Airport Circle in Pennsauken. You can see the giant sign as you are approaching the circle.

I recommend this place to anyone who is new to the area, and now I'm suggesting it to you!

OK, I must say the outside appearance looks a biut oddd and the Medevil inside did not make sence but first thing you hit is one of the best waiting room I have ever seen hughes lots of seating even has a big bar to your right with a low seating chairs with a 70's vide to it.

Then you walk into the enormous dining area that just keeps going and going, we were seated very fast for a weekend dinner time, found the seating a bit close to other tables and the chairs were not comfy.

The staff was on the move got this hugh bread as soon as we sat down, you can see the hugh charchoal ovens 4 of them were they cooked the food, freindly server, salad bars on each side of dining room very well stocked.

Now the food a bit pricey 2 people $100.00 with two main entrees and appetizer, would have jumped up if we got dessert. The steaks were hugh 26oz porterhouse, 18oz strip steak cooked perfect with aujous put on plain a little to much but it made steak melt in your mouth, everything is made fresh very good dinner, but not a nightly or weekly dinner could cost you a hefty penny before all was done.

I've upped the ante to five stars. I recently returned with some new recruits when my boyfriend's father (a Marine) said we should treat ourselves in honor of SEAL Team Six taking out Bin Laden. Can't begrudge one of our servicemen the feeling he gets treating his kids to good, old American, meat-eating gluttony on a special day like that!

I think I speak for my table of four (who all cleaned their plates) when I say: Thank you for your service, Jennifer, The Pub and SEAL Team Six.

This time I even had enough room to sample a dessert (from Sweet Eats in Voorhees). DELICIOUS Choc cake, orange creamsicle and some white chocolate cake. All excellent. I love The Pub. God Bless America.

I dont come to the Pub often, I have probably eaten here a total of 3 or 4 times. (Likey has something to do with the fact that I live in Boston) But everytime I have I enjoy myself.

The interior is enormous. The dining area is made in the style of a giant bavarian beer hall with huge timber supports, game heads on one wall, and flags of all sorts paraded on the other. The back wall has a row of rather impressive coal fireplaces and is flanked by two great salad bars with a fantastic spread of veggies.

Menu is pretty standard steak house affair with all the cuts of meat you could want. I actually decided to go with blackened tilapia (it looked good) and it was pretty darn great. Spicy but not overly so with a great thick garlic tomato sauce laid right on top. I ordered an Old Fashioned (whisky cocktail) but was a little disappointed, not bad but I wouldn't recommend it. But the restaurant has a large lounge so I imagine drinks usually are mad well and I believe I heard some live jazz eminating from there?

You go to The Pub and you'll have a good time

The Pub is, and has always been, my favorite restaurant.  Don't let the cheesy 70's decor and mounted deer heads deter you - this place is magnificent.  The lobby, bar, and staff hasn't changed in about a thousand years, and luckily neither has the food.  The salad bar can't be beat (Caesar salad and zucchini bread - mmm).  The fresh-baked bread on your table is hot and delicious.  The steak/chicken/what have you is cooked to perfection by chefs you can see from your table. The desserts are gargantuan.

I can see being scared off if you're under retirement age, but power through, friends.  Once you've had The Pub, you wouldn't want it any other way.  (And don't forget to leave with a pocketful of spearmint candies.) A+++

Reminds me of Excalibur in Vegas - outdated medieval theme, so large you can get lost in it, and not that crowded.

My friend's bridal shower was held here, which worked out well since we had our own little nook far from the main dining room.  We had a limited menu (chicken parm, sirloin, or deep fried shrimp), with salad bar and mashed potatoes.  Maybe it's b/c i'm not really a steak person, but the sirloin didn't thrill me.  Unfortunately I also don't like fried or breaded food, so the other two options were out.  The salad bar was definitely the best part - I love most salad bars, and this one didn't disappoint.

I couldn't figure out what exactly the Pub is going for, but what the hey. Be prepared to see yourself from a zillion angles when walking into the ladies' room, in the mirrors surrounding the large and unnecessary seating area (?) before you reach the stalls.

The Pub in Pennsauken is a local landmark beloved and known to locals for generations. There's no way to describe the atmosphere except perhaps medieval chic. But then again, one doesn't come to the Pub so much for the atmosphere. It's the food that keeps people coming back.

Everything on the menu is prepared professionally and done well. I recommend the BBQ chicken. The salad bar alone can be a meal in itself. The venue is perfect for small parties or large groups.

Don't expect a quiet dining atmosphere as the setting...outside of the lounge and bar area...is one large room. So the volume level is quite high at times. The service is excellent and many of the servers have worked here for years.

I just came back from the Father's Day massacre at The Pub and I can't recommend this place enough. When we first came in, it looked like 100 people were waiting for a table. However, our wait was less than 20 minutes. All six grill stations were operating and each station had like ten tickets. However, our meat came to the table before we finished our first trip to the salad bar.

A previous reviewer recommended the Caesar salad and I have to agree. It had real anchovy fillets, parmiggiano cheese, the whole shebang. Our steaks were cooked perfectly to order and delicious. Although the menu is slightly pricey, the portion sizes guarantee you'll  take home lots of leftovers.

The Pub has been operating nearly 60 years and for good reasons. The place was totally slammed today but the staff perfectly prepared our meal. All the servers were great but ask for Marva. She's beautiful, but more importantly, she knows her steak.

A damn good steak is what i have to say about the pub!

This restaurant has a major identity crisis when it comes to its theme, is it wilderness, is it a mid-evil castle or is it simply a pub....This place has been here for EONS and i remember like most people here that my parents took me here when i was younger for a good steak.   This place is massive and because of long waits you are going to be one of many to get a nice dinner here!

You are seated in a grand ballroom type environment and immediately there is a large pitcher of fresh iced water on the table and a loaf of bread for you to begin the eating.   Next the waitress takes your order, (get meat) and then off to the normally included salad bar.   The salad bar is nothing special but its a nice throw in to help you prepare for the GRAND meal that is coming.

When I went i got the manager's special rib-eye steak and it was done perfectly and had amazing flavor.   My wife wasn't in the mood and got chicken fingers which for the amount of money they cost were an EXCELLENT value!

All food i ate was done perfectly and the steak had  a great flavor and a great doneness to it.   This place is no Morton's its your mom and dads version of mortons in the day!

Go here, eat meat and enjoy!

Boy my Dad would have loved this place, and there's very little not to love about the Pub. Located at the end of Admiral Wilson Blvd at the junction of Camden and Pennsauken, most people zoom by at about 60 miles an hour as they flee the Camden wastelands on the way to AC. Such a shame.

The place is huge, from the parking lot to the bar to the main dining room. As you are brought down on the main floor looking at the seven huge wood fired hearths, it seems like they could seat 1000 people. (they probably have!) Yes, the place is old school, it's been in business for 57 years and maintains that old school combo diner steakhouse feel, and there's no good reason that should dissuade you, think of it as 'kitsch'.

As for being dark, I've been in many lounge style restaurants where I've needed my cell to read the menu, Vetri included, so don't think they escort you with flashlights. I'll also point out that as we usually go early for dinner, there are plenty of older folks there and they seem to get along just fine.

So let's get down to why you're coming. Huge steaks, charcoal grilled and darn tasty for a reasonable price. The 'Relish Bar' (salad bar) is also a nice touch, and is always being restocked with fresh ingredients. Don't miss the cheese or date nut bread at the end, they're my favorites.

I've included some pictures of our food, I had the bone in ribeye and a cup of snapper soup, my son has the 12oz strip, and our guest has the boneless ribeye. We all enjoyed our meal, and it was perfectly cooked.

The snapper soup was strangely thick, almost seeming to have a bean base, and the meat, although plentiful, didn't actually taste like turtle. The accompanying sherry also was pretty weak, but that was the exception. Normally it's all top notch, and I suspect someone new was making the soup and a busboy was nipping at the sherry and refilling it with water.

Did I mention the 1/2 basketball size loaf of bread that hits your table as you're being seated? How about the airplane style service carts that your food is delivered in, each equipped with a gallon of fresh made au-jus for those that like some extra sauce. Seriously. Want some extra on your steak, of course. Your potato too? Certainly. Directly into your mouth. Open wider hon. A glass to drink after I leave? Here you are. Yum.

Huge potatos, some baked, some stuffed, and some double stuffed, accompany your platter. Double stuffed resembles a potato skin on steroids and is pretty much a meal in itself. I wish they had a sweet potato option.

We've never made it to dessert, but I can say they make a darn good cup of coffee. The desserts sit spinning in a cold case as you walk in, and are tempting, but there's just no room left! Our server, The meticulous Maureen, kept our sodas full and stopped by at least five times to make sure all was going well. We'll request her again for sure.

Three huge steak dinners for three, with take home extras, all for less than breakfast at Max Brenner's. How can you beat it!!

    WARNING:

Vegetarians and Vegans beware... You're in for a SCARE!!!! MWAHAHAHA!!! *chime Goosebumps opening music*

Wonder what it would be like to eat in the medieval times? Well this is close as it gets! The interior is big enough for your 400 pound uncle and the rest of your Fat Greek Family and if they aren't Greek? That's fine too. The food is to die for, and by that you might if you try to finish the whole steak, which is close to the one you see in the Flintstone's opening where Fred receives a brontosaurus sirloin that makes the car topple over. I happened to try the butterfly fried shrimp, which were almost the size of my fist, individually. You get to watch all the cooks work the awesome brick ovens and the smells of cooking flesh brings out the caveman or woman in you.

If you happen to be a Vegetarian and don't mind watch people tear into ribs like the beasts we are, they do have some veggie-styled meals too. Take it, there are only two dishes compared to the meat, meat, other meat, and meaty meat sections in the menu. They also have a kick-arse salad bar and they encourage you to pile your plate. Don't go near the raisins though, I had an issue with finding hairs in them as I ate. Guess they keep the same raisins each day and brush as much dust from the surface? I hope not! Everything else though gets my props.

If you notice their 1&1/2 symbol, they are also a pub after all and they put that many shots into your cocktails. I asked that question on the way out. Well there you have it. If you want to bring out the carnivore in you, come here with an appetite.

A friend of mine works in Camden, and he dragged me to this place for lunch one day. It's was a few minutes from his workplace, where Pennsauken meets Camden.

You walk in and the place swallows you. It's dungeon like. I felt like there should have been a renaissance-style duel at the far end of the room, but, alas, there was only a lonely salad bar.

For a place that size, the food surprisingly came without anything major to complain about. Of course, there were very few people in the establishment when my friend and I went, during lunch. Which is funny, since we still our service was still pretty slow. (But then, with a restaurant that size, it probably took the waitress to get from the kitchen to our table.)

This may be a quirky place for an office get-together, but definitely don't book this monster of a restaurant for your wedding/bar mitzvah. It will draw more than a few unpleasant snickers/chuckles.
