Quinton's isn't a bad place to catch a drink or watch a game.  I would give it 3.5 stars.  It definitely lacks the atmosphere of the Lawrence Quinton's but service here is a bit better.  The place isn't that big and is a bit dive-esque.  I like the large booths...they do add a bit of privacy.

Foodwise, at this location, I have only tried the nachos.  They are a giant mess, and I'm not really sure what's on them, but they are oh so good when you've been drinking.

The bartenders do not go skimpy on the drinks.  Every "mixed" drink that I've had here has been strong.  There are also some really good specials.  The beer selection is decent as well.  Service is good, but I've found that it gets slower as the night goes on.

One of my besties and I dropped in here for lunch last Saturday. I had an expired Groupon and I was in the mood to try this place out even though I had a date for a pedie up north.  So, here's this place at almost 75th and Wornall.  Never noticed it before and my ex and  I used to frequent the area quite a bit.  Parked on a side street.  I would imagine parking would be difficult on a busy night but this was about 1:30 pm on Saturday afternoon.  So, there was some, I repeat some street parking.  The bartender was an attractive, friendly woman.  I ordered a BLT and my bestie had a Ruben.  It seemed rather long of a wait but, it's a bar and they want you to drink, even though both of us were drinking non-alcoholic drinks.  The ambience is typical of a bar.  Dark, TVs, light music.  This period of time seemed to cater to an older crowd which was ok with us.  We were just meeting for lunch and wanted to do something different.  Finally, the sandwiches came.  Nothing to write home about and a little pricey.  Probably won't be back again any time soon.  Nothing really wrong with the place, just not my bag.

The food was ok.  About what you expect from a dive bar although it doesn't look like a dive bar.  At first glance, it looks like a pretty nice place: marble table tops, big booths, fresh paint, etc.  Then you sit down in the booths and you realize there's like 3 inches between the chair back and the front of your seat, which makes it pretty hard to sit down. It's uncomfortable and interesting odd experience.  All-in all it ain't that bad.

I got a deal here from Sweet Jack and was SO excited since this was one of my favorite places to go in Lawrence.  We went in for lunch and were the only people in the entire place.  We ordered bloody marys which were fabulous!  Then we got the half sandwich and half soup combo.  I had the TAC and potato soup in a bread bowl.  The soup was just how I remembered it...amazing.  The sandwich would've been better if the bread wasn't burnt, but was still pretty good.  Granted, I wish it would've had the cream cheese and avacado spread out instead of big clumps, but good still nontheless.

Wow What a suprise this place was.

This little bar on the corner of 75th and Wornall is a happening little place.

Plenty of parking in the rear.

    We had the lunch special.
1/2 Sandwich and  Bowl of soup.

The sandwich was excellent and the size of a whole sandwich for normal eaters.  The bowl of soup came in a bread bowl and was even more amazing.  Potato soup is almost as good as mine. Maybe even better but don't tell me that to my face.   I think it was 8.99ish?   I love how its all open in the front and you can people watch. WALDO is a funny diverse place. LOVE IT!

Its a hole in the wall but a good hole in the wall. Will definately go back over and over and over again.

It is completely unacceptable for a bar to only have one toilet in the women's restroom. If you're a lady here after 10pm and need to pee, expect to wait in line for at least 25 minutes.

I was so excited when I heard Quinton's was coming to Waldo. I really wanted to love it as much as I did as a young college student in Lawrence. But I really just can't.

We've stopped by a couple of times to give it a chance, but every time I just leave disappointed. The spin dip used to be my favorite in college, the Waldo version taste like it was either premade or previously frozen and has the flavor of plain cream cheese. Can't say much more for the queso either--last time I had a bite of some friends, it tasted like someone had dropped an entire shaker of salt on it.

While the sandwiches are not terribly bad, I have a really hard time paying almost $10 when you get a small amount of meat and chips served as a side. If I want to spend $20+ on lunch or dinner, I'll head to another place where I'm not eating off a plastic tray.

Happy hour drink prices are not too bad--in the future, that would probably be the only reason why I would come back.

I LOVE this bar on a Saturday night!

It's a dive bar so yes, it's going to be grungy. Get over it. If you want yuppity, take your ass to P&L!

The music is ON POINT. There's a DJ here on Saturday nights and his music can get anyone off their asses to go shake it.

Quinton's is an excellent place to people watch, the bartenders are super nice, the door guy with a cowboy is ADORABLE and, again, the music is ON POINT.

However, one caveat is that there is only one ladies bathroom...which is a pain in the ass. The line is always 4-5 girls deep, so if you can sneak in to the guy's bathroom and squat, do that. Yes, I said that.

Drinks are cheap, the vibe is great and the people are nice. What more do you need?!

"Really good sandwich.  If it wasn't so noisy, I'd come here again".
That about sums it up.  We had a groupon, which I love - it motivates us to go to places we might not try otherwise.  When we walked up, the music was blaring outside which should've been a clue, we had to maneuver around 3 skateboarders hanging around outside, and step around a smoker sitting on the step.
But that would've been ok, because the sandwiches were quite good.  I had the beef and brie, and J had the classic Reuben - we shared half and half, and yep, quite good.
But did the music have to be so loud?  It was about 5:30 on a Saturday afternoon.  Admittedly we are middle-aged (there were other tables with people our age there) but heck, we still like a good sandwich and a beer.  Couldn't you turn the music up after the dinner hour?  I got hoarse from trying to talk, I kid you not - I finally told J I couldn't talk anymore.
Turn it down.  And tell the skateboarders to hang out out back.

Recently moved to Waldo, so we bought the Groupon to this place a couple of weeks ago so we could check it out. It was one of the worst places I have ever eaten at! It smelled of urine as soon as we walked in, I understand that it is a bar, but I have never been to a bar that smelled so bad, especially during lunch time on a weekday when there were at most 5 other customers in the building. The service was okay but slow, the waitress was nice, but the food was awful and took a long time to come out to us after ordering. The blackened chicken sandwich tasted burnt and was dry. The beef and brie sandwich lacked flavor, all I could taste on it was the honey mustard sauce, and the beef was very dry. The only good thing we had was the potato soup, which was delicious, but not worth ever going back for.

Ok. I finally tried the food so I can update my review. The food was surprisingly good for a bar. The menu is pretty small (just sandwiches, soups, and salads). I had the blackened chicken sandwich and it was huge. It had two chicken breasts on it along with cheese and coleslaw. The sandwich was a little salty (I'm guessing it was the blackening seasoning) but it wasn't a deal breaker. I do wish that there was another choice of sides besides the potato chips. I must say that this time the service was definitely sub-par. I am guessing it was just our waitress. After getting our food order she never came back except for the check. There was a different waitress who kept checking on us while I saw our waitress doing Jameson shots with the table next to us. I don't see Quinton's as being a dinner destination for me, but I wouldn't hesitate to grab a sandwich there if I happen to be there drinking and get hungry.

We returned on a Saturday evening.  Never again.  It now has a dance club atmosphere and is full of drunk 21year olds wearing backward caps.  We were going to have one drink, but after sitting at the bar for a good five minutes with no acknowledgement by the staff, we headed down Wornall to Swagger.  I miss old Waldo Bar and Grill!!

Quinton's is the best thing that has ever happened to Waldo.  When I describe Quinton's, I tell people that it is Waldo's version of Cheers. We don't even call it Quinton's anymore...it's just "The Bar" because it's the only place we go. It's the only restaurant/bar I have been to where the servers and bartenders care enough to remember all of our friend's names, which makes us all want to come back more often. The service is absolutely amazing and I've never seen bartenders work faster. The bartenders always look like they are having as much fun as we are, which makes it obvious that they love their job! I love that it is a place that we can go for dinner and then if we feel like it, stay there for a night of fun! The food is amazing and the prices are great! At the end of a long night, you still have money left in your pocket.  All around Quinton's is an amazing place; they really think about the small details that make your experience there that much better. For example, at their Halloween party they brought in a photo booth--genius! I feel like it's my duty to share with you all the greatness that is Quinton's. If you haven't tried it, you need to!

Don't go here expecting amazing food but the bar atmosphere and sandwiches are worth the trip.  We went on a Monday and all of the beers were half price as well.
