801 Chophouse Leawood

Perfect service, cozy atmosphere, absolutely delicious top shelf food and beverage, make this one of Kansas City's finest restaurants.  We could not find fault with any of it.  Cooked perfectly and served hot.  We will revisit soon to see if they can repeat our experience!  Highly recommended if you are looking for a fine dining experience.

This is a finer dining establishment and dinner will be an event so plan accordingly. The wine list is extensive and wine pairing is comparable to the food selection.  The steaks and meat presentation is detailed and informative. The seafood is surprisingly fresh for the Midwest.  The food presentation was above my expectations and the attention to detail by the wait staff was impeccable.  The food was outstanding.  I would say this is one of the better steakhouses in the Kansas City area.  We will be back.  It is pricy and kids might get bored here so it's more of a date or special occasion night.

This place is awesome! My husband and I had dinner reservations for 7:15pm, and we got to Park Place about an hour and a half early, we went to a couple places for drinks during HH and then came to 801 about half an hour early and just told them, we could chill at the bar until our reserved time. The host said, actually your table is ready, come on back...our table was decorated w/ confetti and a rose (as mentioned in another post) and had a hand written note thanking us for choosing them and wishing us a Happy Anniversary.

Waitress Brooke:::She's awesome! Knowledgeable and very personable. Very attentive, she recommended things that she likes and brought us out a tray of the meats they had so we could see it before it was cooked!

Food: Excellence! (I liked it better than Mortons, but don't tell my husband that)
We had the pancetta wrapped scallops to start with, and they were cooked to perfection! Seriously it melted in my mouth, I went to pick up the scallop w/ my fork expecting a little give but it pierced through it like a hot knife through butter. (not even kidding, you should try it)  The bread they serve, is crusty on the outside and hot and warm and soft on the inside. My husband had the corn and lobster chowder, it was good, creamy with a little bit of spice.

I had the prime rib for dinner, the bone-in one, so I guess it's a double...OMG it was HUGE. the absolute best prime rib I've ever had hands down! I probably didn't even have to chew it if I didn't want to...it was that tender. I recommend it!

Hubby had the Delmonico, which is their bone-in ribeye, it was good but I liked my prime rib better :)

Lobster mash potatos were a little too flavorful for me but it was good and they do not skimp on lobster.

the chocolate cake was also soo good, the buttercream is not like anything I've ever had! It's on a completely different level.

I'll be talking about this place for days, it's expensive, but totally worth it! GO!
