Server Caitlan was knowledgeable and friendly and turned me on to my new favorite beer (Left Hand - Milk Stout).
Fish-n-Chips were some of the best I've ever had and the wife's "Fungus and Fromage" (Mushroom & cheese) pizza was also very tasty.
Probably the best restaurant I've been to since moving here a year and a half ago.
I will be back.
5 stars because the food was perfect. Â The pork bellies were the best I have had so far in my 6 months in the KC area. Â The pretzels were fantastic. Â The wife's wiener schnitzel was delicious and the ribs... Â Oh my the ribs... They might be the best slab I have ever consumed. Â Chicago (my home for 34 years), Memphis (were I lived for 17 years for work), all my travels, and my 6 months in the KC area.
The décor is very relaxing and open not crowded.  I would have to not agree with Michael P. in the fact that it is a bit more expensive. WE have been to other places with similar menus and what you get here for the money is worth it.  I have paid more for ribs not as good as these.  Not sure if it was happy hour or not but the Saison-Brett was only $6/glass... Yum, we got the first two glasses of a new keg. While eating we watched a pizza go by so our next visit will include a pizza NOT A PIE!! in Chicago we do not call a pizza a pie, that is an east coast thing.
Barley's is always a great option for dinner, drink, or snack. This has become a regular meeting place for me with friends after classes at KU-Edwards during the week. "Firesale" drink specials are always high quality brews (but sell-out fast) and the their "Bomber" special (10 bucks for 750 ml beers) are also a good deal.
Have always felt like their food is overpriced, but still good tasting.
