For a Johnny's, I was actually pretty impressed. Â It's your basic bar, nothing spectacular, but much cleaner (cough, clean ladies room) and brighter than our usual visit to the 119th location.
The layout is a little strange. When you walk in, there's no real "waiting" area. Â Then the bar is laid out in a square, with a raised middle section. Â There are several TVs around for watching games.
The food was pretty standard -- I've liked the pizza and wings, and my favorite thing is the hot pepper bites appetizer. Â I was pleased with their beer menu. Â The service was good when we went. Â We'll be happy to return.
Johnny's was my favorite place to go. Â I hosted business meetings there and the food is good. Â This 1 star is strictly for the service and how terrible it was. Â My waitress was more interested in her lost phone then paying attention to us. Â We wanted water and it took 10 mins to get. Â We ordered salads. Â YEP salads. Â You take the bagged lettuce and put it in a bowl. Â My partner had a garden salad and I had a asain chicken salad. Â She got her salad after 15 mins and the waitress forgot mine. Â She tried blaming the kitchen but like I said, I ordered a salad with a chicken breast on it. Â My salad took 15 mins after hers. Â If you want a great place, head to coaches. Â It is east down 135th two more blocks.
