Service is "sometimesey". Â (Yes this is an official word. Â Try it in a sentence, ie. Â "girl, you are sometimesey!") Â Sometimes its great and attentive. Â Sometimes you have to wait a while. Â
Prices are ridiculous. Â Beer prices are fine. Â I'm taking about their premium liquors. Â They are the same premium that you get everywhere else. Â So why should I pay Fox and Hound three dollars more? Â Seriously? Â (They charge strip club prices. Â And the scenery here isn't all that great.)
Recently I attended an event here hosted by a friend. Â Fox and Hound catered their event and sectioned off a portion of their game room. Â The space provided for the event was great. Â There was plenty of room for pool, darts, and even beer pong! Â They provided plenty of setting for our group so we had lots of room to spread out.
The food was a completely different story. Â The waitstaff failed to place the proper cutlery at the buffet. Â Also some dishes we on the cooler side. Â The sliders were served with cheese that looked as if it had been torn in half by hand. Â Condiments weren't placed with the appropriate items, nor were they labeled. Â I didn't pay for the event, so I didn't feel it was my place to say anything. Â When it came time for drinks we had three different servers come through offering cocktails. Â The garnish and flavor also changed with my drink a few times. Â It was vodka, so meh. Â lol!
This place has it's purpose. Â I'm just not sure that purpose fits my needs.
Actually one of the better sports bars in KC. Â It is in a strip mall and can be easily overlooked back off the road. Â It is behind the Krispy Kreme location near 95th and Metcalf. Â I have been here a few times with differing groups of folks. Â This is a large smoke free facility. Â They can take on multiple private parties and still make room for the walk in guest. Â Though I have not been to a private party here we saw a buffet set up for one party who was there on an occasion.
They have a descent beer menu. Â They also carry several local handcrafted beers. Â Each location has its own beer menu to fit their clientele. Â I give their beer selection four stars. Â The bar menu is what you would expect. Â It has specialty drinks and bar food selections. Â I have had the bar food and it is average. Â I'd give it three stars. Â We have always had good service here. Â I have always been with a group of folks and they do a great job of keeping up with everyone's pace. Â They split bills without any drama. Â I give the service four stars.
There is a lot to do at Fox and the Hound. Â They have televisions, billiards, darts, beer pong, music and special events. Â They do host UFC for a small cover charge. It's a heck of a lot less than paying to bring the event into your home. Â Then you can spend the difference on some drinks, food and group atmosphere. They bring folks in to liven up the place. Â The good news is if you don't want to be part of a large loud event being hosted you can retreat far away to the other side of the pub.
They have an All Star card. Â You get a free burger when you sign up and you get a meal on your birthday. Â You also earn points for what you spend when you go and get perks along the way. Â Of course you have to give up your email address. Â Nothing is totally free. Â
So if you have a group and need a place to go and happen to be in Overland Park, well give Fox and the Hound a go. Â They are actually a Kansas company, but have locations in several states besides the two locations in Kansas.
This is the mecca of bar games. Â Went here with coworkers for a happy hour, so I can only write this on the drinks, service, and atmosphere. Â However, our server was attentive (group of 13 who all like to drink) and we constantly had full drinks. Â We had plenty of things to do between hanging out, pool, ping pong, beer pong, both kinds of darts, and plenty of arcade games. Â Lots of tvs to make sure you catch your game!
