My review is based on brunch, and it was a fabulous experience!
Five of us girls ended a bachelorette weekend by dining here on a Sunday morning. Â We were promptly seated and our server came over with water right away. Â We opted for the bottomless mimosas. Â $11 well spent! Â One of the girls decided she wanted a bloody mary, which was amazingly delicious. Â Our drinks came out fairly quickly.
I thought the brunch food options were really good, and I actually had trouble deciding what I wanted. Â Luckily, one of my friends had difficulty choosing as well so we decided to share two different things. Â We went with the croque madame and the biscuits and gravy. Â The croque madame was good, but not that big. Â The biscuits and gravy were awesome! Â The chorizo made the gravy. Â I would have licked the plate clean if I wasn't in public. Â Another girl enjoyed her french toast and the two other girls both got the Harvest Benedict, which they both loved! Â The veggies were definitely fresh. Â
Our server was friendly and attentive, but the problem was that there is only one pitcher of mimosas for all the servers to share. Â So if our glasses went empty, we had to wait for our server to get his hands on the pitcher. Â It was kind of ridiculous for an all you can drink brunch. Â One pitcher...seriously?!
Louie's Wine Dive is a cute spot and a great addition to Waldo. Â It's unpretentious and offers up good food at reasonable prices.
Lunch
I will admit I don't have the most sophisticated palate but I do have a palate. Â My daughter and I stopped in here for lunch and were disappointed to the core. It was not busy but took forever for a waiter to get to the table. Â
I got some gourmet hamburger from hell. It had pulled pork on top of it and was dry and bland. It was cooked to order but even smelled funky. I think I ate 3 bites of it. Â My daughter tried a bite and was grossed out. Â We are Americans don't try to mess with our burgers . My daughter order the chicken Alfredo...it was bland and she thought it was made with canned chicken. It tasted like milk. When u serve crappy bland food at least have salt and pepper on the table. Â You have to ask the waiter for shakers.
We sat in a really funky booth that wasn't comfortable and should have left before we ordered. Â
I am still mad I spent 30 bucks on crappy food. If I
ever go there again I will have to get drunk to enjoy the place. The only thing they got right is putting dive in the name of the joint.
