The Levee Bar & Grill

So here is my negative rant.... we all get one (or a few) right (when deserved of course)?

I have been to this bar twice.  I have never recieved good service at the bar.  I did not have the food.  Let me just say, without a bias opinion of the place, I usually do not frequent places like this, but I always give a place a fair chance.  If it is bad the first time I usually figure someone is having a bad day or it is not typical of the establishment.  The second time if bad service happens again, I will more than likely never return.  The crowd was "typical" for the establishment, if you know what I mean.  Nothing cool, cultural, or eclectic about this place.  

I ordered two beers and a whiskey coke.  It was about 11pm on a friday.  The bartenders were very busy, which I understand, I was a bartender for years.  With that being said, the one I had the pleasure of "enjoying", apparently did not like me. Maybe I wasnt dressed skimpy enough.  He ignored me for about 20 minutes after we did not recieve one of our drinks.  I did not say anything, I waited patiently.  He returned with a scowl and said "Can I help you?"  I politely asked for the drink we didnt receive.  He left and came back slamming the drink in front of me not returning again. So we left.  

Not only was this completely disrespectful, there was absolutely no reason for the treatment.  I will never understand when people are working for tips, even if they are upset about something, leave your attitude at the door and smile and nod or just get out of the service industry.  Like I said, it may not  be everyone working there or the establishment itself, it never is.  It unfortunately ruins a customer(s) experience by one person who represents the establishment.

I absolutely love seeing The Good Foot, a "Kansas City Soul" group, play at The Levee, and they play there a couple of times per month. I always make sure to use the bar upstairs when they play, because downstairs is very crowded and difficult to get a drink. My grandma hates hearing about any weekend plans involving a bar, but when I happened to mention THe Levee she was thrilled. She used to frequent the place as a North Kansas City HS grad and loved it, which makes me love The Levee even more.

Only thing I've found worth complaining about is the lack of bathrooms.
