My boyfriend got us this class for Christmas. Â We got a single private class for the two of us. Â It was the best cooking class that I've ever been to. Â It was so much better than the classes at stores like The Chopping Block and other such places. Â The class took place in her home. Â Her kitchen setup was perfect for teaching a cooking class. Â Everything was orderly and spotless. Â It was our first formal class in Indian cooking. Â We felt like she gave us a very good foundation to build upon. Â The class, including eating the meal, took about 4 hours. Â We learned to make masala chai, paneer, kachori, daal, coriander chutney, imli chutney, aloo gobi, aloo, chole, roti, and kulfi. Â I will definitely go back for another class once I get some practice making the dishes I've learned so far.
Review Source:I got the Basic North Indian cooking class for my husband for his birthday. It was a really awesome class that took place in her home. There were only 6 of us there, so we got a lot of hands on time. We also made some amazing food. We learned so much about how to balance Indian flavors correctly and how to apply what we learned to many recipes including samosas with a phenomenal cilantro chutney, an okra dish, and eggplant dish, chai, and roti. She even tossed together a rogan josh paneer dish just because one of the attendees said it was his favorite dish. Ranjana is also an incredibly warm and inviting person, we felt very welcome in her home. Just listening to her talk about her impressive career and life path as well as her successful kids was a lot of fun on its own. Eating the food she helped us prepare was even better. We ate around 12:30 and I don't think I needed to eat for the rest of the day because I had so much delicious food and because I didn't want to get the wonderful taste out of my mouth.
If you've ever considered taking a class to learn how to make Indian food, this is the one to take. I'm so excited to recreate the recipes at home.
