Ringside Cafe

We went to Ringside Cafe for lunch on Sunday, 8/18/13, which was a pretty quiet time.  This is a place with Character but needs some maintenance.  There's a small stage for live music, which is supposed to be a nightly thing.  

The menu is pretty large and has a nice variety of options.  I don't see many places that offer Cheese Curds, so we had to get them as an appetizer.  The Curds were crispy deep-fried cheese nuggets of various sizes, and were good.  I had a Shrimp Po-Boy, and my son had a cheeseburger.  The Shrimp Po-Boy was plentiful -- actually too much stuff for the bun so I ate it with fork & knife.  The fried shrimp were crisp and everything else on the sandwich was good . . . except the bread was too soft.  I would have preferred a firmer crust so that the sandwich might have had a chance to be a sandwich.  My son enjoyed his cheeseburger and said it was up there among some of the better burgers he has had.  

Service was very good.  The young lady who served us worked very hard and often checked with us to see if the food was good or our drinks needed refills.  The service we received was 5-star, but the place was not very busy at the time.  Prices were about what you would expect for this kind of place.

We plan on going back to try a lot of other things on the menu.  I bet the place is a lot of fun in the evenings when the live music is there.

Bar none...the BEST venue for live musi...7 NIGHTS PER WEEK.... in the Tampa Bay area...! Food is great too...!

I like this place. Their food is good, the staff is friendly, and the live music is great but could be louder. Parking is a train wreck on busy nights.
