I've been to this place twice, because I believe in always giving a place a second shot. But, in the future... I'd rather just hang out in a dive bar, unless I'm pressured by friends or desperate for something to do while I happen to be in that area.

    Cons:
    - The drinks are just about as expensive as a club you'd go to in the city.
    - The DJ has NO idea what proper beat progression is...they go from a hip hop song to classic rock...which might be considered good that they have a wide variety of music, but when the DJ cuts the first song abruptly into the first with absolutely NO transitional blend, it's very off-putting. Or when he mixes two songs that have absolutely no reason to be together. I don't know what people are thinking when they say they have a great DJ, I got a headache both times I went and could barely get a proper dance rhythm.
    - Most people I've seen here seem to be desperate white people who have no idea how to dance. (And no, this isn't racist, I'm white.)
    - Cover charge for guys.
    - Eternal wait for drinks.

    Pros:
    - Surprisingly, they have pretty damn good pizza.
    - They do have an option for these HUGE drinks. But they cost like $12 - $15 and are really meant to get you plastered rather than enjoy a drink.
    - Shot girl walks around, so you might have a chance at getting drunk even if you don't get the attention needed at the bar.
    - Girls get in free, on weekends at least.
    - Pretty spacious, yet has a couple cozy spots.

    Mixed Notes:
    - The crowd is really mixed. I've seen really young girls and pretty damn old couples partying here. Mostly white people from what I've seen, though a person of color isn't unheard of, perhaps I'm just going on Honkie night? (Friday/Saturday??)
    - Mechanical Bull...seems pretty cool...but it has a weight limit and costs something like $5 I think.

Went here with a large group of friends last night.  We got there early, so we had the place to ourselves pretty much.  This is a decent sized dance club and the DJ is pretty good.  The bartenders could use a few lessons in customer service.  If you don't have at least a $20 in your hand when you are at the bar, they pass you by.  Not cool.  Also, if you don't  "call" your alcohol, they will give you well drinks.  Trust me, pay the extra $$ for top shelf and save yourself the headache in the morning.

They do have a mechanical bull for those adventurous folks.  The crowd is widely mixed so everyone fits in.

The only gripe I have is lack of parking.  And the patrons of this joint can't park to save their lives.  So if you don't want to trade paint with another car, park in the back 40 and walk.

Been to this place several times. Cant say that Im impressed!

The crowd ranges of from 21 (or possibly younger) to OLDDDD!!! Some of the women are attractive while others are.....

The dress code is iffy! Friends of mine have not been allowed entrance because of their shoes (clearly a "demographic" thing).

I've noticed that  the EXACT SAME songs are played every night. Now this wouldnt be an issue if I had been here several nites in a row. But my visits have been spread out over the course of months. The place claims to play "Top 40" but what isnt stated is that its "Top 40" from years past!

The conditions of the restrooms are deplorable: broken toilet seats, tissue and paper towels all over the floor, wet floors.

The one cool thing that I will say about this place is that the staff is very friendly. Never had an issue with them.

This place seems to get by because it's the only venue of it's kind in the surrounding area.

The negro and latin representation is the standard of limiting them to only working as security.

I noticed that some creepy old guy with an awful goatee and an underweight lady whos trying to pass for 25 though shes clearly 50 always lurk by the entrance (dont know whats up with that).

I will never return to this place. No point in coming from Glen Ellyn to here when I can just go to Naperville or just drive 35 minutes to the city.

I first went here in November 2011 and it was PACKED. Over the course of 2012, the crowd has fallen off considerably. Im certain that this place wont exist by this time next year!

    Btw the vodka bar sucks!

    Where's Craig?

    YUCK!!!

I would rate this place between a 2 and 3. I guess it is a reflection of the area and the crowd. It is a good little place to grab a margarita. The bartenders are fast and prompt. It is a huge place and perhaps that is why you always get the impression that is empty. Maybe we went in early so we didn't pay any cover charge, but we did see others being held up for paying cover when we left at around after midnight. That was when the place was getting just a little busier.

The Mechanical bull should be the biggest attraction. Lot of fun happening there :D.

It looks like the place is a favored birthday party venue. I saw at least 4-5 party groups. The non birthday party crowd is smaller and hence there is not much of a crowd on the dance floor etc. I wouldn't mind going in again if someone invites me for a birthday party. Otherwise, I will give it a miss.

Being in chicago and that to in suburb sucks. But this place gives you a good escape from your boredom. Pretty mixed crowed. DJ's are awesome. They will keep you groove.
This place is huge also the dance floor. 3 bars to drink and plenty of place to move. Mechanical bull is a hit.
$5 for guys and free for girls which brings a good crowd here.

Did I somehow teleport back to Dekalb? No, I'm not in some random campus bar, but it took some convincing. I hosted a bachelorette party here. Karen the Events Manager was very accommodating and helpful. The mechanical bull was a blast and made the party go from awesome to epic. The sleazy dudes and girl crotch shots made me swear I was in Herpes Town, College Inc, and reminded me how old I was.

I can honestly say I will never be going back to this bar. The staff was rude, the music was awful, the beer options were limited.  I actually got thrown out while on the patio for smoking. Outside. In the patio. In the smoking section. I would rather get a root canal than go back to rita's.

Let me just state first that I am NOT into clubs...bars, sports bars, etc.  yes.  Clubs...NO.

A friend of mine was celebrating her birthday here so naturally, I had to go.  If you're into the club/dance scene in the burbs...this is probably among one of the best I'd think.  No cover for the ladies on a saturday night.  We had a reserved section with a waitress which made things nice because the bar looked rather crowded.  A long island in a yard glass was $12.75 - given the location, this wasn't a bad price at all.  They also had 24oz beers in cans so you can "go large" here with your drinks and  you aren't really breaking the bank.

There was a good variety of modern dance-type music - along with group dances like the cupid shuffle, electric slide, & cha cha slide.  And as reviewers mentioned - confetti popping out of the ceiling, etc.  There wasn't the club-type music you'd hear at a club in the city.

Once we made our way to watch the people on the mechanical bull and moved away from our reserved section/party - I felt like I was in an episode of jersey shore, even one of the male bartenders had the jersey shore style hair cut but...that didn't take away from the entertainment of watching these folks.  Fun time for sure.

The one thing that impressed me the most were the cabs waiting outside.  You don't see that at any "bar" in the sw burbs...the fact that they're there available so these club goers don't drink & drive is pretty cool.

All the elements of a good party bar. Great staff, Awesome DJ, huge dance floor, and a mechanical bull.

The place is pretty big, broken up into a number of sections, dance floor, a couple of bars, outdoor patio, and even a piano bar area. It's in a good location for the suburbs, as it's easily accessible from neighboring communities.

The music is party music spanning a 70's to current day. So you'll be bound to hear something that you haven't heard in a while (in a positive way).

Very good crowd, with little d-bag atmosphere.

Rita's is definitely a ragin' good time. Every time I go, I really enjoy myself.

    The GOOD:
~Usually pretty crowded, especially the dance floor any time after 11:00pm on a weekend. Everyone gets really into the music.
~They have a mechanical bull. Pretty sweet for some people, but I've never tried it.
~Very spacious. The facilities are able to effectively handle the crowd. This includes the large smoking area outside, as well as the HUGE parking lot. Given the large volume of people, you usually won't be waiting over 7-8 minutes for a beer.
~Streamers pop out of the ceiling occasionally, and the workers spray the crowd with fire extinguishers to cool you off.
~For the people that don't want to dance, they have ample seating areas

    The BAD:
    ~5$ cover for dudes
~Last time we went there was this creepy bald troll trying to get with my friends. I feel like this dude is a microcosm of some of the dudes who frequent this place
~The DJ frustrates me sometimes. The dancing buzz is killed when he plays a really fast paced song with bass then follows it up with a slower song. Also- they usually don't take requests.

The crowd is very diverse. There are a lot of Jersey Shore d-bags, as well as old people, and just chill people who wanna dance and have a good time. Overall, I recommend it.

It's an OK place. The dance floor is fun as is the mechanical bull and the amount of space is excellent.

The bar tenders, are eh. They overpour a lot, now that I think about it, i don't think i've ever had a drink that wasn't.

free for the ladies $5 for the guys. Smoking area outside closed off so you don't have to keep getting stamped or whatnot.

    Huge bathrooms, a ladies bonus.

I have to say, I think it's the crowd that annoys me sometimes. It's like some are scummy, some are not.. very strange mix.

    BOMB ASS PLACE!!!

I love Rita's Roadhouse!! Who would've thought that a dance bar like Rita's would survive in the burbs but it most definitely has and is here to stay. Just everything about it screams awesome such as the huge bar (and there's not just only one bar to mad rush at)...the huge dance floor...all the space to sit at...and most of all, the mechanical bull. EVERYBODY has to ride that thing atleast once!!!!

Everybody working there from the bouncers to the bar backs are super super nice and accommodating, the drinks are cheap, and only the guys have to pay cover which is only $5. In downtown Chicago, everybody has to pay atleast $20 for the same ambiance as Rita's.

You can most definitely dress up or dress down for this place which is what makes it one of my favorites! If you go, hit up the bartender Rico...he does an amazing job at drinks and quickness!!!

Dirty college bar. Ya know, the one you went in and thought that someone could get an STD just from standing there. That's what this place reminded me of. The DJ was TERRIBLE, and played classic Rock (ballads, not the kind you can even pretend to dance to) , which would have been fine if he played it for awhile and then mixed into something else. But no. We had to suffer through the whole song, and we all know how long 80's ballads are. No mixing at all with any songs, he just played every song all the way through and then moved on to the next. We heard better music on the radio when we left.

College age kids, older people trying to pretend they just turned 21 everywhere. Honestly, most people were drinking a remake of the Fishbowls I drank in college, sugary vodka in a fun plastic dumbbell cup, ya know like the ones they give to kids at the zoo with ICEE in it?

Creepy people. We club in a lot of different places and I have never had so many men constantly grab at me as I was walking by (while holding hands with my husband). Not just me, I saw this happen to a lot of women. Also, smelled an overwhelming amount of pot everywhere (again, dirty college bar, anyone?) and saw quite a few "drunk shades" covering drugged up eyes.

I can't believe they charge cover for this place.  Gross.

I went to Rita's last night for a birthday party, and it was my second time being there.  Last year, my hubby and I went with another couple for Halloween.  They did not post there was a $10 cover charge...if we weren't dressed up already, we would have turned right back around.

We went last night for a party...there was a $5 charge for guys...again...if it wasn't for a special ocassion (bday party), I wouldn't have paid for my husband to get it...the place isn't that great to be charging guys to get it...they aren't in the city.

The prices of drinks are pretty average..our bartender, Wendy, was great and always got to us right away with our drinks.  The music was pretty solid...Top 40's (which is my type of music)...I do love that they didn;'t play much house music!

There is ample parrking and even an outdoor area!  The crowd there is strange..but that ok...that leaves for some awesome people watching!  There were 21 year olds to folks in the 50's...but everyone was having a great time I must say!

The bartenders/staff would get up on the bar and dj booth area to dance...weren't really into into it too much.

Overall, its a pretty decent place...I would probably go back if our group wanted to check it out again or for a special event.

Oh...and there is bull riding...which is hilarious to watch!

I'm 26 years old, visited with a friends/boyfriend, no special occasion.

    Pros
-Interactive, Fun Environment (streamers, confetti bombs, mechanical bull, etc)
-Seating was easy to find, even on Saturday night
    -Drinks are fairly priced
-DJ played a variety of music
    - Not too big, not too small
    -HUGE parking lot
    -No cover for ladies
-No to small line for bathroom
    Cons
-Very odd crowd, weird mix of ppl...some might consider this a pro, just overall the people gave me a weird vibe
-may be considered an "amateur" club
-music was WAY too loud, I left with a headache & a sore throat from screaming over the music
-I was expecting more out of the employee bar dance, it was WAY too easy, and employees were not into it at all...I was hoping for something similar to "coyote ugly".
-Kind of felt like I was at an adult chuck e cheese...that's hard to explain
    - I'm not sure why, but I was under the impression, that they were somewhat of a country bar....there was no country or line dancing, what so ever. Roadhouse is cool, but a few country line dances here or there would have been fun!

Overall I had a good time, I would not return on my own, but if I was invited to a birthday party, bachelorette party here, I would definitely show up!

The music is loud, they have decently priced drinks unlike many other night spots, and they play pretty good music like what's on b96 and kiss fm. I like them because it's ladies free and a cool crowd (guys $5). No drama or fights. I would recommend it to anyone looking to go out for a drunken good time.. Lol. Just kidding, try it out!

My friend wanted to do her bachelorette party there so it was her choice(we went on a Saturday) . She enjoyed herself but as for me and some of the other ladies...not so much.

    Things to remember

    1. The DJ's NEVER plays your requests...ever....They pretty much suck.
    2. The bull is fun for about 3 seconds....if you are short you are going to have a very difficult time getting on (I am 5'4") and had one heck of a time-but after 4 tries I got on.
    3. The guy who runs the mechanical bull is nice but after a few tries and you cannot get on he does boot you off.
    4. There is a weight limit for the bull, the guy told us it was 200 lbs (the reason we asked is we had someone in our group that was heavier)
    5. The music is what they play on the radio now nothing new or interesting...he plays all current-the DJ doesn't do any throwbacks....
    6. The DJ did something the whole night in the middle of a good song and everyone is on the Dance Floor he kept on calling out "Rita's Road House"...it was annoying---We know where we are.
    7. The prices for drinks are good....that is if you like really watered down drinks...
    8. Parking is a pain in the butt....
    9. I thought the bouncers were ok.

I wouldn't go here again unless it was for an occasion like a bachelorette party or something like that-but let me be honest there are much better places to have events then this run down place. The women outnumber the men and a lot of men who are here look like they are going through a mid-life crisis. The feel of the place is very 1990's...

So, I'm not a fan of Rita's. Having been here for a few birthday parties and such, I refuse to ever return. I've been here for 3 birthday parties and one other event, and I can say that the place could use some serious help in the world of customer service.

The first time I visited Rita's, when they first opened, the service was terrible. The bartender didn't have a clue what she was doing (and really only cared about serving the hottie guys that walked up to the bar)...particularly when she ran my credit card. I ordered two drinks on my tab. When I checked my credit statement a few days later, there was the first charge that I knew would be there. There was also a second charge for 4 times that amount added to my statement. Un-Freaking-Acceptable.

So I called Rita's and left a message. I was polite, but concerned, as the overages on my debit card meant that my budget for the week was out of whack. The manager, a super snotty woman who couldn't pass a customer service test if someone was feeding her the answers, called me back and essentially made it seem like it was my fault and that I was irrationally upset. She was rude, and never once did she apologize for her error. (Apparently, I was not the first to deal with this horrendous manager, as I later found out that the bar LOST my cousin's credit card, and no one apologized to him either). Eventually the charges were removed, but it certainly left a sour taste in my mouth.

I've returned a few times since, and only left incredibly annoyed with the service and unhappy with the experience.

The riding bull is only for those who can jump really high and actually get on it, as there is no step stool or assistance to mount the thing. So it tends to just be dudes riding the bull.  The worst part of Rita's is the Coyote Ugly-style bar dancing. This wouldn't be so bad if the bartender and server girls all had a sense of rhythm. Not so much the case...They are all out of sync with each other and the music, and some don't even know the moves that they are supposed to be performing. Get a dance instructor fast and teach these girls how to move!

Went there for the first time last night with a group of friends and my boyfriend. Definitely had a good time. Drinks are reasonable, $5 bombs of fridays! The music could have been better, the DJ played a lot of Michael Jackson, and played a few backstreet boys songs- which people actually liked. The bull there is basically made for ladies to ride, there is a weight limit. They actually weigh you before getting on it, which really surprised me. The man that controls the bull isn't very friendly... just an fyi.

Although this place is called a 'roadhouse' hats & ripped jeans aren't allowed.

The staff (other than the mechanical bull guy) was friendly, and although a lot of the reviews I have read say people had problems with the bouncers, my friends and I did not. They do scan your ID on your way in, and need to see it again if you leave and come back in.

    overall good experience! :]

Never had a bad time here. Went for my birthday and Rita's exceeded my expectations. I would recommend this place to anybody looking for a good time and affordable drink prices!

    Pros:
    Great prices
    Good looking girls/bartenders
    Awesome music and good DJ
    Dance floor/chill seating
    Off the highway

And you can RIDE THE BULL!

The place to go for awesome drinks and bull riding! Went here for my friends birthday party and it was packed! Great music, lots of room to dance, big stage and huge drinks! I must admit I embarrassed myself after having too much to drink and attempting to ride the bull :p If you are looking for a fun night go there!

I'm not a fan of clubs and was told this was "Rita's American Roadhouse" with a mechanical bull, so it sounded like it was a regular pub type of bar (more to my liking).  We got in and it seemed that way, although as the night went on it turned into a club...so I was confused to how the bull fit in then.  I didn't ride the bull since the horns kept falling off so there wasn't anyway for people to support themselves properly...with a bad knee I didn't want to get majorly hurt at this lame club.  I had a few expensive drinks ($6 for a bottle of bud light)...then left with disgust to never return again.

If you like the loud, can't hear you from across the table, music, "jersey shore" douchebag looking boys (there were no men there, based on maturity levels I encountered) and club scenes this place is for you!  Me I'd rather have a nice reasonably priced beer at a pub where I can have good conversation and dance with friends next to our table if we feel like it...not grinding on people on a dance floor.

This place was packed last night!!  It looked good from the parking lot.  The music was lively and the crowd was having a great time.  The mechanical bull was a blast to watch (not ride - won't catch me on that thing).  I got the first drink after a short wait, but the lines kept getting longer and longer.  The crowd was pretty mixed and younger.  I guess I'm getting old and this was confirmed when the test tube shots and jello shots started going by.  Ummmm, yes - getting too far away from college for this place.  I might be back.  If you're a twenty-something - this place is for you!

This place is awful.  It's Texas meets the Jersey Shore ambiance just isn't working.

It is the closest thing Downers Grove has to a dance club, but if you have to drive to get there I'd recommend taking the extra 15 minutes to head out to Naperville.

This place has gone downhill fast in the few months since they opened.

I am the leader of a networking group and had held my events at Rita's since they opened early last summer on Thursday early evenings, I believe seven consecutive months.  Back then, the service was prompt and attentive and truly customer-service focused. My group is not their demographic, however, and it quickly became apparent that the venue was not happy we were there even though we were not there at prime time and we were in a private room.

Originally the menu offered a nice variety with reasonable prices and great specials.  After the private room was slightly re-decorated, the menu was diminished and specials eliminated.  Plus, the goofy new high-tops are  bumpy from the relief graphics, which make no sense for beverage glasses!

Two months ago we had a particularly bad time at Rita's.  The server had had a rough day and was not able to be attentive to the needs of the group members. This poor young woman was not trained for her job and was/is mis-employed. My group members complained to management and to me about the poor service and management then complained to me that my members were unreasonable.

Last month was the last straw for me: After asking the manager in January if we could hold a special pre-South by Southwest event and discussing plans for the February event, the manager was impatient and insensitive to our needs already discussed.  There was zero customer service orientation. I asked for tape to hang and sign and she responded with exasperation.

The vegetable tray is ridiculously overpriced.  I paid $85 for a veggie tray for 50 people, which did not serve the 30 people who attended.  I could have bought the same size veggie tray from Jewel for 1/4 of the price. Also, as management brought out the second set of pizzas, they discarded the remaining pizza from the first set, despite it having been on the buffet for a short time.

Rita's management will no longer have to deal with my group as we will not be returning.  Although my members previously enjoyed the atmosphere, the mechanical bull, and the private room, the service is the pits (except the bartenders have been great to us), the prices have gone higher than the value provided, and the high tops make it difficult to hold a glass safely on the table.

The other thing my group finds offensive about Rita's is their page on Facebook is anti-social.  Social media for business is about communication - discussion WITH your customers, not yelling at them.  Rita's screams in all caps with no option for tagging or posting on their wall, a clear indication of their lack of customer service and lack of regard for who their customers are and what they want.  My members are "unliking" the page.

If you are a young adult looking to dance to loud music with others your age, you may enjoy this place once in a while.  If you are over 30 and have any self respect, you will grow tired of this place quickly.

I went here yesterday with a few friends. As far as nightclubs go, there's really not much to Rita's unless you are an avid listener/fan of 103.5 Kiss FM since they currently use Rita's on Fridays for their 'Club Kiss'. There is a 5 dollar cover for guys, ladies get in free!

Parking is pretty terrible compared to the amount of people inside. They also had a Friday Special 5 Bombs for 5 dollars each (25 all day). Which isn't so bad since the rest of the drinks are pricey, as most nightclubs are. Music wasn't too bad considering they house 'Club Kiss' and play the Billboard top 40s.

The tending at the bar was pretty fast and attentive. I was able to get a round for free which I thought was pretty awesome.

There are better places within the city, but for a place out in the burbs Rita's fits the bill.

Ritas is great because they have a DJ, a Mechanical Bull, Foot Long Long Island Iced Teas, and No Cover! However the DJ usually isn't very good, and sometimes the people there can be a little creepy for my tastes, and the drinks are a little pricy, but otherwise Ritas is a great place to go for a good time!

I had a great time!  I got there at about 9pm and it was practically empty, so I suggest going around 11pm when the true party starts.  The mechanical bull riding was a lot of fun to watch.  I really enjoyed the DJ, he was energetic and played a large variety of music.  I like classic rock and the top 40 hits, and he played both.  There were people dancing on the speakers, on the bars, and confetti was flying.  I also liked that the ladies didn't have to pay cover when I went.  It is nice not having to go into the city to dance since I live in the burbs.

Went for the sexy bull riding competition on Thursday night. The guy who ran the bull rides was super nice, let all us girls on earlier, and was a lot of fun. The waitresses were super-nice, quick with drinks, and fun. Definitely a younger crowd than us thirty-somethings, but that didn't keep us from dancing & competing in the sexiest bull-rider competition. I am suspending my last star until I give it another shot; next time I'm bringing my MILF posse and one of us is leaving with that trophy!

The main reason for one star off- I have sour-grapes over not winning the competition. And, no one was on the dance floor, but I do dance like Elaine from Seinfeld which may have kept others away. The DJ kept saying "Request a song", but didn't play my requests and we were the only ones out there; Pink's Raise Your Glass is not a weird request!  And last, NO COUNTRY MUSIC?? I bought ridiculous boots & wore a huge belt buckle for no country music?

So, if you want to see cute young chicks riding a mechanical bull, or some hot cougars too, then this is your place. If you like the country atmosphere without the country music and line-dancing then this is your place. Good bar, I'll go back. 4 1/2 Stars!

I went here last night for a girl's night with Missy and Lynnie and I will DEF be back! =]  When we got there around 9 PM it was pretty dead but after being there for about an hour it really picked up and the DJ's started pumpin'!!

The drinks are reasonably priced and margaritas were the B to the O...BOMB!  The bartender was making them strong and sweet at the same time which is what I need to get tequila down!  And he was hot...just an FYI.

The DJ's were amazing and seriously delicious!  ANDDD they could dance, which really got the crowd going!  The bartenders and DJ's had little routines to some different songs which was funny, entertaining and naughty thought inducing (thanks to the SEXYYY ASS DJ)!  The music was an awesome mix of old and new and let me teeeeeelllll you I taught a few people how to Dougie...just sayin'!

I will DEF be back here to get my dance on for 4 hours straight and hopefully one of these times I can drag my husband out to Dougie with me! =]

As the other reviewer hinted at, Rita's is apparently trying to be a mashup of "Coyote Ugly" and "Saturday Night Fever" (whatever that is) and they are doing a reasonable job pulling in people who might like either movie.

Important tip- you MUST present a photo ID and have it scanned to get in. If you "left it in the car", they will make you go back and get it even if you look well over 21.

There are three problems that I feel need to be looked into for this place to stay in business:

1- Spilled drinks and broken glass all over the dance floor. This seems to be an epidemic at places in the NW and W suburbs with a "certain age group" clientele. Not sure what the solution is but it needs to change.

2- The DJ (Marco) wasn't sure if he was going for a classic rock, hip-hop or C&W theme. You can't please everyone so please pick a direction and (mostly) stick with it.

3- Parking is a hassle. The lot was nearly full at 8PM on a Friday and the club was FAR from full. I don't get it.

Every business of this type has to make adjustments during their first year, so please don't get the idea that I am being overly harsh. This is a FUN and LIVELY bar with a lot going for it. Clean up these items and it's gold, baby, gold.

These complaints aside- guys.. let's talk for a moment here... no matter what age group you are from 20's to 50's... it's my experience that there will be 3-5 unescorted good-looking friendly women in your age bracket for you to dance with. Coed to Cougar- Rita's seems to attract them.

    Consider yourself clued.

PS: Who ever voted "good for kids- yes" needs a reality check. No one under 21 is admitted.

What can I say!  I had a great time!  I met some of my girlfriends out for a birthday celebration at the Roadhouse and it was great!  Great music and dancing!  I swear they wax the saddle on that mechanical bull...I thought I'd be so much better!!!  lol.  Overall a great night and a lot of fun.

Err, uhh..how to say without sounding like the curmudgeon I'm quickly becoming in my old age...

Ladies, you'll have a blast. Enjoy yourselves, good luck with the bull thing, watch out for brain freeze on the frozen drinks, please stay respectable and refrain from dancing on the bar. Yee hawrrr. Or something.

Men, let's sneak out and go down the street to a real bar, ok?

Seriously, this place is the shit. A mechanical bull in Downers Grove? Who woulda thought! Good looking staff, typical priced drinks, and great music. How can you not have a good time here?
When "Single Ladies" came on, the entire staff got up on the bar and boxes next to the DJ booth and started dancing. It was cute and I enjoyed it. It's like a PG-13 version of the Coyote Ugly saloon in Chicago.
Drinks were nice and strong. $6 for my diet and Absolut vanilla.
Staff was really nice. Hott guys opening the door for guests to enter. Smoking is allowed on the patio, you don't even have to leave the building. This is a place I'll be looking forward to go to over the Summer.

"Well, I walk into the room
    Passing out hundred dollar bills
And it kills and it thrills like the horns on my Silverado grill
And I buy the bar a double round of crown
    And everybody's getting down
An' this town ain't never gonna be the same."

    1. I did walk into A room
    2. Didn't really pass out hundos
    3. It did kill and thrill like the horn on my non existent Silverado grill
    4. Def didn't buy the bar a double round of crown. If I drank crown I'd probably puke ;)
    4. The atmosphere was def jumpin and everybody WAS getting down.
    5. This town will probably stay the same HA!.

We walked in around 9 pm and it was kinda  lame but it picked up at 11 or so. We watched some waitresses and bartenders dance on bar tops (one of them was a guy dancing to Single Ladies...hahaha Perfect!). We also enjoyed, very much if I may say so myself, watching people eat shit (Pardon my French) as they fell off the mechanical bull. They put you on every TV as soon as you hop on that thing LOL. This will definitely be a place we hang out at, it looks, sounds and even smells country but they played decent music that everybody enjoyed. The wait staff and shot girls did what they do best to get tipped, kissed ass ;) I'd recommend the strawberry daiquiri's FO SHO!

Note to self: go back and try their pizza. EVERYBODY was ordering it!

Lots of cowboy and cowgirl energy in this Roadhouse!  I was surprised when the bartenders got on the bar and started dancing--don't ask me what song, but it was nice choreographed entertainment.

The music ran from the 80's to 90's in this Roadhouse.  Bartenders were really friendly--my Margarita on the rocks was tasty and not watered down at all and the hubs beer was ice cold.  Since it was opening night we got to sample some of the appetizer fare.  Take a pass on the pizza--you can probably do better at your local joint.  But the meatball and garlic bread mini sammy was delicious!

There are a lot of flat screen TV's for sports but unfortunately they were having trouble getting the satellite signal.  So instead of sports, we got to watch folks take a spin on the mechanical bull--perfect entertainment for a roadhouse.

Please don't consider this a bad review. It's not.

It's just that, as I get farther and farther away from college, my taste in bars and clubs has changed. Used to be, would've loved this place -- a big barn-esque cowboyish atmosphere, with cute bartenders, big screen TVs and a mechanical bull.

Now my taste runs more toward quiet classy wine bars and bistros. Just the way it is.

That said, the grand opening party was fun. There were plenty of appetizers floating around (the pizza was delish) and the drinks I had were pretty strong -- though oddly enough, an amaretto & coke cost me $6 at the back bar from the hot cowboy bartender and $5.25 from the waitress. Was it because Disaronno was not specified the second time? Not sure. Oh well, it went to Make-a-Wish anyway.

Service was friendly and prompt. The music went from '90s to '80s to '70s while we were there -- probably because the crowd skewed a bit older (we felt pretty young, oddly enough). Hey, know your audience.

I might come back here if I had a reason to, or maybe to try the dinner menu, but probably not to drink a lot and relive my college years.

Cowboy boots, cutoffs, stilettos, and Men At Work's "Land Down Under." Oh yeah, and a mechanical bull. Don't judge  - this is my kind of party!

I came out to Rita's for the grand opening party tonight and was pleasantly surprised with the large, shiny space, wonderful service, and yummy bites. Do not leave without trying the hot roast beef slider with cheese topped with onion rings on a buttered bun... oooh you made me misbehave!

Plenty of flat screen for you sports buffs, and even a few huge ones (DIRECTV if it means anything) for your supersize viewing pleasure.  For the foo foo drinkin' ladies, they have several frozen drink machines so you don't have to feel guilty about ordering that frozen marg or pina colada (admit it: we all secretly like 'em!).

I'll definitely return to check out Rita's on a normal operating night and try more of the food... and next time I'll be sure to wear my 'life of the party' hat!
