*Warning: This review is based on New Year's Eve, and I know Rizzo's is definitely better on other nights.*

I was ready to dance on NYE but didn't want to pay cover so we headed to nearby downtown Naperville. My husband and I took our friends from out of town here because we've danced upstairs in the past on a normal weekend night. It gets crowded, but we have never paid cover or waited in line here and with only one hour left in the night before area bars closed, we went for it.

The top floor was more crowded than usual, which we expected but a few other reasons turned me off:
*Disgustingly messy - scattered bottles, crumpled up napkins and half-used glasses
*Unnecessary costs - $1 for each small cup of water, $5 for each coat check
*Awkward service - A burly man watching the door to the women's bathroom in order to monitor the lines seemed unnecessary. He mostly just hit on women in line.
*Terrible music - Not really danceable, at least between 1-2 a.m. Most of the people on the floor were making out and groping any way so I guess it didn't matter too much at that point in the night.

I am willing to come back - as long as it's not NYE.

Well, let me start off by saying that I am not a college student. If I were, I'd probably give this establishment a solid 4 starts for their pumping beats, scantily clad young ladies/Jersey Shore looking bros, and decently priced specials.  But, my college days are over, and therefore, I am unimpressed.

Rizzos was enjoyable the first two times I was there.  I went during the week with my boyfriend for a cheap burger and a pint of beer at the bar.  The servers (all young girls) were a little flakey, but the food was tasty for the price, and the atmosphere was chill.

The last two times I went to Rizzos, (the most recent will definitely stand as my final outing there) I was offended by the arrogant doormen, rude and obsessively drunk college kids, and lack of competence demonstrated by my server.

The doormen are a joke.  Two words come to mind: Power. Trip.  Let me paint you a little picture.  I showed up to Rizzos around 10:15 on a Saturday night.  The bar was busy inside, but there were only two straggling smokers out front, and nobody else.  My group of five proceed to walk up to the door, IDs in hand.  The "bouncer" stopped us, and motioned us over to a set of ropes.  We needed to stand in line, he instructed.  I chuckled a bit, and walked my happy butt through the ropes, where he then checked my ID and let me into the bar.  REALLY?

Once we fought our way through the sea of drunken coeds, we sat down at a table.  Mistake #2. (#1 being going in at all, after the incident outside.) Our server was awful.  I ordered three drinks, and a round of shots from her.  After thirty minutes passed, she came by with the drinks.  No shots.  I ordered an absolute mandarin and tonic, but got a gin and tonic.  I told her what I had actually ordered, and she took the drink back to switch it out.  Ten minutes later she came back and asked me if I wanted a gin and tonic.  Doh! Eventually, I got my drink, but where were the shots?  Well, they soon followed, but instead of the five lemon drops I asked for, she brought me five vegas bombs.  Whatever.  I told her to just leave them, in fear of waiting an hour for the right ones.  Now it was time for the bill.  The right bill came not the first time, not the second time, but the third time.  Poor thing was a hot mess.

    Never. Again.

Came here on Halloween. Very cozy liked the vibe. The food was ok. But most bar food is just "ok". Should come back again for lunch.
