Love this place. Wilmette needed a late night place to grab a last drink or a coffee. Â We've stopped in a couple of times after dinner and caught some random different music acts that we really had fun hanging out to. Â When it first opened I ran in for coffee and a breakfast sandwich -- that wasn't so remarkable. Â But highly recommend it for an evening stop over. Â Fun to hear live music coming out of a shop in Wilmette -- makes it almost feel urban.
Review Source:This place is a nice addition to the Wilmette scene. Kind of reminds me of something you might find on a side street in Downtown Milwaukee.
Small with only a few tables, the interior reflects the fact that there is a music school upstairs. Filled with guitars, recording equipment and a new stage for live music, I have to say my two favorite things (aside from the vanilla latte) in the space are the chandelier in the center of the room and the hanging guitar menu boards. Nice design contrast.
Wow, a much different and way fantastic vanilla latte--different in the sense that it was strong with full-body flavor and very caffeinated. Buzzworthy indeed! Typically I have a vanilla latte and it's just not enough of a pick-me-up. I would recommend the latte here if you need an extra kick.
A cornucopia of interesting tea flavors, it's one of the largest collections I've seen at a small independent coffee and tea café. The baked goods are not made on site and not delivered daily, so if you are looking for a killer nosh I suggest sticking with the coffee or tea where you won't be disappointed.
Excellent service, great vibe, and a memorable latte (a little pricey though), I'll be back for sure!
I've been driving by this place since I moved here a couple years ago and can't believe I didn't stop in until today. Â Rock House Coffee Bar and Roaster rocks! Â
I saw the live music signs for Live music and then realized this was a coffee shop, I just had to drop in to check the place out and grab a drink to go. Â
I was impressed by the range of teas that they offered and that they roast their own coffee beans. Â Â The Chai Latte I ordered was not made with a premade mix - it was steeped while I waited and then frothing hot milk was added. Â One of the best Chai's I've ever had! Â
Above the Coffee Bar is a music school. Â The Coffee bar definitely follows that theme with guitars, mandolins and ukuleles hanging throughout hte space for sale. Â They also have live music - typically on Friday and Saturday night. Â
Only complaint would be the tables/chair setup didn't look very accommodating or well arranged. Â But I shouldn't complain since I haven't sat down for table service yet.
Great place - I'll be stopping in to hangout and have a coffee or chai!
Atmosphere, atmosphere, atmosphere! Â Is such a comfortable place to grab a coffee and either catch up on e-mail or sit with a friend. Â If you're lucky, there will be an impromtu live performance by some kids taking lessons in the music school upstairs or another customer. Â After two visits, the staff even knew my drink order and started prepping it when I walked in. Â Feels good, sounds good, and tastes good.
Review Source:This coffee bar/music school is a breath of fresh air for the North Shore. Â They roast their own beans and take so much pride in their coffee. Â The atmosphere is relaxed and inviting. Â They have music playing all the time and free wi-fi. Â It's a great place to go for kitschy gift ideas from vinyl records, cute jewelry, ukeleles, guitars and music equipment. Â I love that there is a music school upstairs that caters to the kid rocker want to be, while the moms can hang out and have a latte, smoothie or diet coke. Â Oh...and they have pastries and an awesome lunch menu. Â I'm done with Starbucks! Â Bravo, Rock House! Â Love it!
