Rockin Fish

After reading the reviews, I don't know why some people are saying the food isn't good. Everytime I come here, which is around five times, it is excellent. The food is so good. I had the chicken dumplings and the watermelon salad. I just have to go back tomorrow. My two friends loved their quesadillas and fish wrap. The waitress was also good. I think it is one of the better restaurants in Northport.

Poor kitchen  service. Waited 50 minutes for a terrible meal to be served. The  Salmon entree was a bed of lettuce with a piece of fish the size of my thumb. The Sword  fish was completely dried out and the  southwest quesadilla was served in
an over cooked puff pastry. I thought  they usually come in a flour tortilla?

When I told the  self claimed  manager about our experience, she did not seem to care  and offered us a drink on the house.
Sorry I came hear for a nice meal. If I wanted to drink I would have went to a bar.

So I went back for dinner and I've got to be honest, it was better than I originally expected.  Our group of 5 was seated in the front window booth after waiting 20-30 minutes on a busy Saturday night. Not too bad in my opinion.

Our waitress Lauren was attentive and very friendly, as well as quite knowledgeable about the menu.  She made some excellent recommendations from the beer taps and the menu.  

Our group ordered a bunch of apps and entrees and just shared everything, that way we could all try a little bit of a lot.  Here's what we had and how it went...

Apps:
Kumamoto Oysters - Awesome.  If you love oysters and haven't had these, do it, you'll be amazed as to how sweet they are.
Chicken Dumplings - Pretty good.  Nothing extraordinary though.
Tuna Nachos - Amazing.  By far the best appetizer we ordered.
Lobster Tacos - Decent.  Not really packed with lobster.

Entrees:
Swordfish (Special) - Really, really good.  Would order this again.
Scallops (Special) - Really, really, really great.  Will definitely order this again.
Soft-Shell Crab (Special) - Delicious.  Crispy fried goodness.
Duck Fajitas - Very good.  Make sure you ask for extra fajita wraps.

Rockin Fish is most definitely my new favorite spot in NPT Village, and judging by the crowds, I'm not alone in that, so if you haven't gone, go; and if you've been then I'm sure you're going back.  See you there.
