I heard a lot of bad things about this place.. Makes me nervous because I'm from Massachusetts the east side of America. Visiting Fresno, California for dancing and PARTYYY! Does this place have a dress code?

Went on a Friday night and was happy to be on the guestlist to get in free before 11:30 PM. Got there at 10:45 PM and there were maybe 20-30 people there... not dancing. At 11:30 PM, we had lost around 5-10 people. So not interested. The most exciting part about the night was having our ID's checked thoroughly and having a detection wand taken to my body.

I wanted to be nice and give it 2 stars. The drinks are way to expensive and isn't even good. It's such a waste of time. I do not think Rome is the hottest club in Fresno.

Staff is offensive and managers are unethical.

We arranged for a group of 20 people to arrive at the club, we were totally willing to wait in line so did not arrange for VIP entrance.  When the group reached the front of the line one person was told $10 per person cover and he paid for the entire group to enter.  Half of the group was allowed in and the other half were told to wait in a different line.  Another doorman came over a few minutes later and told us we were waiting at the exit and had to wait in a different line.  When we reached to top of that line we were told the cover was $20 per person.  I told the doorman our friend had already paid, he said he didn't care.  I called bullshit and was then told I was not allowed to enter the club at all and that I was "too fat to come in anyway," (this is from Rome's staff mind you).

When my friend inside asked to speak with a manager about why his friends were denied entry the manager said it was the doorman's decision.  My friend then said he wanted a refund for the half of the group denied entry.  The manager said no.

Appalling service, offensive to me and manager took money he should not have.  It may be a great place to dance for Fresno, but please do not give money to this terrible place.

It's a cool place but man...people get wasted and throw up on the dance floor and it's pretty disgusting. The towel person in the restroom is annoying (but it'd be an easy job). The bouncers are a bit rude, but that's to be expected. All the bartenders are really nice and make drinks to taste good...not to get you drunk. When I was there it was pretty dead and the music sucked it was all rap. The atmosphere is really nice with the chandeliers, decks, and the dance floor that's higher up from the bar. Overall it wasn't that great and I don't think I'd go back unless my friends wanted to go here.

This place has rude employees and people walking around with cameras the entire time.  Very Tool atmosphere, if you are into that then cool, but these people are very annoying.  Fake boobs and affliction shirts needed to enter, (get my drift).

OMG! Is this XS? Not quite but as close as I can get I suppose. I had a great time and loved it because when I'm with good people, its always fun. Some of my memories are these:

Yuck, that girl threw up on me!
    - As I was walking to the bathroom. Unfortunately this was my first time at ROME. I didn't go back for awhile but being that it is as good as it gets in Fresno (like Nick A said), I had to give it another try.

Bathroom lady, thanks so much for the paper towel and hair spray!!!
    - I absolutely love this lady, she's so sweet! We know each other by first name! I tend to go with a large group of girls and find myself in the restroom often.

Bouncer, can me and my girls sit here? Can we dance here too?
    - Answer was yes and it was great times! We pretty much took over a VIP booth. They do treat group of girls well, just like Vegas.

Hi Bartender, here's my card, keep the drinks coming ;).
    - Only time that the Bartender really took care of my girls and I. Wish I remembered his name... maybe he shouldn't have kept them coming as much ;).

    Just a few extra notes:
    - 3 bars: one at the entrance, one towards the upstairs dance floor/ VIP locations, and one on the patio (sometimes it's open). I noticed that I get better service at the entrance.
    - Patio: Lot's of smokers (duh) but more than I'm use to at any given location.
    - Mix crowd, all races, all types. I like it this way.
    - Upstairs and downstairs dance floor. Upstairs - less creepers and I don't have to worry about someone spilling drinks on me. Downstairs - more drunks, more hard core dancing (bumpin and grinding), and usually when a guy flips me off because I'd rather dance with my girls then have him feeling me up. Either location, its dancing!!! :D
    - $20 for fast line (its to the left when you're facing the entrance). $10 for normal line. Make sure you stay in $10 route, or you will get charged extra if the front desk or bouncer sees you accidentally swerve to the $20 line. I've seen so many people do this.

If Club Rome is the "Hottest ,Best Night Club For the Central Valley " then I would say Save ur Money and just stay home.... Save your self the dissapointment and Headache... Because its not worth your time and your Money. My Experience was the worst of the worst . I regret spending a Thousand dollars to get a crappiest service I've ever experienced.  I threw a Birthday Party for my Boyfriend in Sept 3, 2011. Paid for a VIP room , purchased 4 bottle service that cost me about $800, was told By PINO the event coordinator that the place will be reserved and a waitress will be assigned to tend to our
needs. heres a list of my complain:

     * when we got to the club, there was a LINE for VIP Room???? never heard and witnessed anything like that , The line was long and it took 20 minutes to get in.

     * The DOOR MAN was rude and acts like we owe them  to be there, CRappy attitude for a DOOr MAN.

     * OUR VIP spot is in front of the Dance area , where bunch of people are standing around Crappy View.

     * And The place was Uncomfortably HOT!!! Crank up the AC ???? really?
    *  The MUsic was LAME... so sad.

     * WAITRESS  disapeared , saw her 3 times , and never showed up, we ended up mixing our own drinks. so much or bottle service. & when i asked her to mix drinks she said she will come and never did.

     * PINO the so called Event  Coordinator is  Lazy, liar and Do not care about serving their clients.

CLUB ROME is Over priced and bunch of Snotty staff that acts like theyre all special!!!!

By the Way PINO you know my number if u want to explain your crappy service and your crappy staff im all ears, and if you dont give a damn bec. u obviuosly dont , it wont hurt me a bit as far as im concern I just want to forget the experience we had in your so called CLub.

For Fresno, this is about as good as a nightclub gets. I agree with Christian P. (God help me)- this really is the best interior design and layout for a nightclub in Fresno. The super high vaulted ceilings, the elevated dancefloor away from (but still in full view from) the bar area, and little touches such as the little "balconies" I imagine are for DJs make it obvious that this venue was designed to be a CLUB, not that half-assed restaturant/club thing Fresno businesses try to pull.

First off, great execution with the dance floor. It's "upstairs" on the 2nd level maybe 6 feet from the ground, with the VIP booths just above that encircling the dance floor. Security is placed at all staircases to make sure no drinks make their way onto the dancefloor. Simple, and brilliant. No drunken douchebags dropping bottles and spilling drinks slipping and sliding all over the place.

I also agree that the towel guy in the bathroom is a bit much, especially considering Rome has the most crowded men's rooms I've ever been in outside of a sporting event. The towel guy just kinda gets in the way, and is another fucking obstacle in getting in and out of a congested clusterfuck. Men are NOT used to having to wait in a line going outside of the restroom just to take a piss.

Drinks are expensive, but that's to be expected. Normal club prices, nothing out of the ordinary. Security's actually pretty laid back and do their jobs well without being douchebags about it, and the club does a good job of promoting and having celebrities come through most weekends.  All the reviews saying "the people are ghetto, bla bla bla-" this is Fresno- you get that everywhere. This club does not attract any more "ghetto" people than Twist did and Roe currently does. Even though they're in the "higher end" of town, Rome is actually a classier place and blows those 2 out of the water on every level.

Overall, a 5 star club- and despite what I said in my opening sentence, not just "for Fresno." They get almost everything right, and most importantly, it's FUN. If anybody were to ask me where to go clubbing around here, this would be the answer.

First impression of the club: Are we in Vegas?!

Loved the decors and how nice the club is! Nice purple and blue lights.

Crowded club on Saturday after the Wet Electric event ended, so I guess everyone came here for after party.

$10 or $20 admission and there is 2 lines. There's another line for express line if you are willing to pay $20, but we decided to save money and wait in the $10 line.  Line was kind of long around 11:00 but we still got in. They of course hold the line for a bit.

Drinks are considered cheap here in Fresno! In San Jose, its like $20 for two drinks, but here is like $16 for 2 drinks!

Alot of Asians, Whites, Mexs. Good mixture.

Music was really good around 12ish. Loved the electronic music. But later some DJ was playing more gangster music.

Bouncers are normal. One bouncer said to me, "I don't wanna sound like a pervert but I was wondering how your dress stays up?" lol. I was wearing one of those deep chest plunge dresses that drapes where the chest is and opens a big gap.

Wannabe Vegas! But I do have to admit the place is pretty cool...as far as the setup goes. I won't be returning tho. Just not my scene.

Okay, so I have been to Club Rome two times. Both were linked to radio station events
Here are the good things I have to say about the club:
    *Nice Bar
*Interior is beautiful ( love the chandeliers, layout, and painted walls)
*They have a nice outdoor area with a bar
*Gives off a safe environment (they check if you have gang related clothing, tattoo's, etc....)
*I love that it is in granite park
*All kinds of people different ages, sexual orientation, race...
    * really enjoyed it as a venue for bands when I went to y101's unplugged show

    Bad things:
    * the tacky bathroom attendant! GET RID OF IT!!!!
seriously! it is not classy!!! I can rip my own paper towel! and I don't want anyones dirty hands on it! seriously I washed my hands turned around and boom right in my face is a towel. She doesn't even speak to you, its rude! its like she is desperate for a tip. If the lady looked more professional I would appreciate it. Also all the dollar tree perfumes with a white paper with black sharpie writting that says "tips" taped on is really cute...NOT.It almost looks like she is doing something that she shouldn't.
    * drinks are expensive (no surprise)
    * no sitting, that is only reserved for VIP
    * went to b95's anniversary and the DJ was terrible! the music was awful!
    * no coat check... would be a smart idea.

This is quite possibly the best interior design and layout for a nightclub in Fresno. We get there expecting for a line at the entrance and there isn't. So at 11:30 there still isn't a lot of people. It was dead inside especially for cinco de Mayo. Maybe this nightclub is in a wrong location of town. Most of the girls dressed skimpy and had a slight pudgy tummy. The restrooms could be better looking but I do like how they have someone in there who hands you a towel to dry off your hands. Oh and they have a selection of Cologne in the restrooms to for a tip. The drinks at the bar were good. I loved the dance floor. I like the whole idea of this club but it just needs way more people coming here. Also they should bring bigger celebrities here. Last night they had Pedro from Napoleon dynamite which was wack!!

Went to Rome the other night and had a very fun time! Despite AMANDA'S (the "VIP" hostess) unprofessionalism. I wanted a VIP booth, and after calling her many times and texting (as she states in her voicemail, to text for a faster response) without her EVER contacting me back. Sure enough 24 hours LATER she assured me a table would be reserved for me. I had my credit card in hand to confirm, but she NEVER got back to me. Another 24 hours went by and she texted me saying, "Sorry hun, table got sold try to get here early!" I don't understand how someone can be so unprofessional with a job in which she needs to KISS ASS to people shelling out money for a good time.

Despite Amanda, I still went out, payed $20 for the VIP express line (which I would suggest to anyone because it's worth it!) and had an amazing time! DJ Grant Shapiro or Resident DJ Jimmy Martinez played some repeat songs, which was annoying, still did a somewhat decent job on their laptop when it came to music.

The people who went out were your usual club going types. Some girls dressed extremely trashy with $30 outfits bought from their hometown stores, some dressed a little nicer and the same went for the fellas. Some guys dressed in plaid collard shirts, others in ghetto ECKO.

In the end, Club Rome is Fresno's newest hotspot. For how long? Who knows. I would go back again though!
