Oy. Another "meh" experience. A Sunday night family dinner + a child that didn't stop talking for one second + a day having spent painting the face a hundreds of screaming little kids = NOT a happy camper when food is bad. For starters, there is a table tent right on the table stating that if the waiter fails to offer you the fondue prior to bringing your drinks, you get it free. When that happened, the waiter explained to me that he did offer the appetizer. I asked everyone at the table whether or not he did and they said they didn't remember him offering it, but we let it slide.
Fast forward 10 minutes later, he brings the fondue appetizer anyway. WTF? But still a nice gesture, I suppose. The appetizers we ordered (sampler and guacamole) were as expected. The guac was exceptionally fresh, so yay! As were the obviously house-made tortilla chips. Then there was the main course. I got their highly-promoted seafood trio: Shrimp skewer, crab cake and lobster tail. All grilled. Well....it left something to be desired. First, the plate is WAY too big. Half of it was empty making it look like something was missing. Fail. Then, there was ONE skewer with four small shrimps and ONE crab cake that was the size of half of a regular sized one. And the BIG FAIL was the lobster tail (unintentional rhyme insert) It was WAY over salted! GOOD LAWD! How you gonna screw up a lobster tail. It practically cooks itself! Over salting such a beautiful food is insult to the entire species. They're all ashamed of you Ruby Tuesday. ALL OF YOU.
Rolled in late at night and my girldfriend and I decided to hit up the hotel bar instead of venturing downtown..
The salad bar here is pretty extensive.. although, clearly sitting around all day.
The shrimp fondue was ok.. a little thick and too tangy I thought though.
The asiago steak was pretty good.
I had the chicken trio which was good too..
If you order a Caesar they dont know what you're talking about.. or should I say abOOt ;) Â I think they put cocktail sauce in the tomato juice to pretend it was Clamato.. kinda wierd but ok... suggestion by bartender for another vodka drink was electric koolaid and it was bright blue but pretty bland.
It has a great make-your-own salad bar, which made it THE place to go for this Jewess on Passover! Â The veggie trio was especially perfect, where you can pick three vegetable sides and do the salad bar too for $10.50.
Buuut the food just isn't great. Â The zucchini was the highlight of my veggie trio, the broccoli was okay but needed salt, and the spaghetti squash was all right but needed salt and pepper. Â Just not the coarse ground pepper they put on your table! Â Wow! A couple of turns of that sucker and I was having pepper for dinner. Â At least it's not chametz!
My mom said her avocado grilled chicken sandwich was bland. Â The best part of the meal? Apparently the mac and cheese, though I'll have to go back after Passover ends in the diaspora to try it sometime.
Our waiter was friendly too, although he didn't quite know how to deal with our Yelp check-in deal of a free dessert. Â Poor guy!
This particular location absolutely sucks. It took them 3 times to properly cook (or not cook) a rare steak. Medium well is NOT rare, but they don't get it. The management was the worst part. Never have I EVER had a manager handle a situation so poorly. You would think that a restaurant manager would have enough common sense to go above and beyond to make sure their guests are completely satisfied. This lady was clueless and rude, and I won't be surprised if this place shuts down. The food isn't even that great. Fatty not happy. BOOOOO.
Review Source:I used to like the salad bar at Ruby Tuesday but even that wasn't very good on this visit. The lettuce was not fresh and the two dressings I tried were basically flavorless. I had the spicy fish tacos which were ok but nothing special. Small, greasy fish fillets with lettuce and too much cheese. I'm not sure why they were called spicy either. Bland.
Review Source:As far as a Ruby Tuesday goes, it right there with most of them. Â The food was good, as was the service. Â I would have given it more starts, but we found one disturbing issue... we brought our kids, on the kids menu there's cupcakes for $.99/ea., and on the grown up menu there are cupcakes too, 2 for $2.99... thought they would be bigger if they cost $.50 more for them... NOPE, they are the same size. Â So they knocked the price down to the $.99 we saw on the kids menu... but that's just wrong if you ask me, and that probably lies with the corporate management/menu decisions rather than the location, but I pull a star just for that reason.
Might go back.
Ruby Tuesday was right next to our hotel and since we arrived for a late check in at Hampton Inn we thought we'll just eat here. Â
It's just a typical Ruby Tuesday, if you been in one you've been in them all. Â The food was pretty good and the service was fast and friendly. Â My daughter was a little grumpy from the long drive so we pretty much ate as fast as we could just to get back to the room. Â Wish we would have had it delivered to our room which was a nice option that we found out after we ate. Â
4 stars for the very friendly staff.
My Mom, Aunt, and cousins had a girls shopping weekend and stayed at the hotel next door. We had the pleasure of eating here twice and both times were awesome. The service was great. (I believe we had Barbara both nights). The food was delicious. I had the crab cake dinner which was superb, the burgers and pasta were also great. The salad bar was fresh and kept well throughout the day unlike other places with salad bars. The restaurant was clean and not run down at all. Definitely would come back the next time I'm in the area.
Review Source:Yeah, it's a chain. Â But we've had good experiences there.
Near Old Orchard, and a good option when The Cheesecake Factory or other mall restaurants aren't seeming appealing. Â Also right across the street from the Edens on-ramp back to the city, which is a bonus. Â It's on the first floor of a hotel, so it's a hotel restaurant/bar if it matters. Â I've never done the salad bar, but it looks good. Â Burgers have been solid. Â Started with the Southwestern Spring Rolls. Â Not recommended. Â They were dry and just served with basic Ranch Dressing. Â I was admittedly hesitant to order fish at a place known for burgers, and was then disappointed when told the Trout entree was not available. Â (They're soon changing the menu and have phased that out. Â Server was profusely apologetic.) Â I went with my second choice of the Herb-Crusted Tilapa, and it was excellent. Â The fish portion was smaller than I'm used to, but it was perfect actually, and I was able to finish it unlike the Tilapa on steroids fillets often seen at restaurants. Â The "crust" was VERY light, and the Lemon-Butter sauce was subtle and nice. Â I went with Grilled Zucchini and a Loaded Baked Potato for sides. Â Rounded out a perfect meal. Â Small portions, but reasonably priced, and prevented overeating or leftovers, which I dig. Â I'm told the Rib eye was very tender and good, and I could see it was perfectly cooked to order.
Service was excellent from the hostess, bartenders, server, food runners, and bussers. Â All highly friendly and professional. Â Decent beer and wine selection, and extensive $5 cocktail menu. Â Drinks there can be weak, but most recently they were a little more heavy-handed with the alcohol.
Decent dessert menu. Â I had the Double Chocolate cake, which was just ok, but unusually large and enough for 2. Â I also got 2 Red Velvet cupcakes to-go, but have not tried those, yet. Â I find one area these chain restaurants usually lack in is dessert quality.
Definitely recommend this Ruby Tuesday location.
I don't see how people can give this place a good rating. Any time I have come to Ruby Tuesday, the food here has given me the runs, no matter what I've ordered.
The last time I went, I figured I'll just order the salad buffet and make my own salad.
Sure enough it was the same result as if I ordered something from the regular menu. I have not been back and have no intention of giving Ruby Tuesday another try.
My office is within walking distance of Ruby's. Â It's a great lunch time or happy hour spot for us.
I really like their mini burgers - and at lunch a combo comes with 2 mini burgers, fries, and salad bar. Â WINNING.
Recently I tried their "veggie trio" at lunch, which is any 3 side dishes plus salad bar - equally tasty.
Happy hour specials are good - but don't try to order any drinks with red bull in them - they don't stock it in the bar. Â If you want, you can go to the hotel lobby and purchase some, and they'll make you the drink (Seriously.)
Staff is always polite and on top of things, especially during lunch. Â They know a lot of us come over from across the street and are working on a time crunch to get a decent lunch in.
Wow. As far as generic chain restaurants go, Ruby Tuesday wasn't bad at all. There isn't much to say, since this type of restaurant is ubiquitous and doesn't offer much in the way of innovation or interest. But it does offer an affordable tasty dinner, salad bar, and real vegetable options.
The only real negative comment is that they couldn't figure out how to accept the gift certificates that we had. So we ended up paying and still have the gift cards!
Very convenient location (next to the Hampton). I visited this restaurant nearly every evening I stayed. The staff were pleasant, courteous, helpful and efficient. Food is what I expected from a Ruby Tuesday and the salad bar was fresh and well maintained. Had a particular good time one Monday night during the football game (MNF). Sat up at the bar that night due to limited space in the restaurant. The two ladies bartending were quick, attentive and seemed to be having a blast. What a great atmosphere to be around. Lots of fun. Definitely would recommend and visit again if in the area.
Review Source:Came here for the salad bar, but opted for the lunch special w/salad bar for only a few dollars more. Came here with a girlfriend and our waitress was extremely nice and helpful. We wound up ordering these mini-veggie burgers and one was filling enough to have another left over for lunch the next day. We both chose asparagus as a side, which was a little overcooked and oversalted.
Review Source:Love the salad bar! Â Burger was pretty delish as well.
I was really impressed by how well the staff handled a bunch of (obviously) developmentally challenged people that were dining there at different tables in some kind of group. Â Very, very patient and hospitable.
Our server Ashley was great. Â Spot on and always there when we needed something.
Not the absolute best burger I have ever had, but certainly well done (though cooked rare!!). Â Salad bar rocks! Â Fries, while bottomless like Red Robin, a little thiner cut than I prefer. Â Garlic bisquits, while quite good, somehow seamed out of place at a burger and sald bar joint. Â Trying a little too hard with the Amuse Bouche....
One negative, guy at the bar dropping f-bombs while talking (loudly) to  the televsion set.
Came here with my family for my mom's birthday. Was a weeknight and not that busy but there were still enough people for me not to think that we should be running for the hills.
I had the Blue Boston burger which has a steak sauce made with Sam Adam's beer and topped with one of my personal favorites: blue cheese crumbles. They also had crispy onions but I tend to knock off most of those so I can soak up the rest of the flavors. It was a really good burger. Not Duffy's quality or anything, but I would order another burger, unfortunately though the Blue Boston is maybe the most unique sounding burger that they have, and i like to experiment.
The other dish that I tried was the lobster ravioli...not my thing but I'm not the biggest seafood lover and I get REALLY picky about how my seafood is prepared. For instance, the Papadeaux lobster bisque blows my mind, but Ruby Tuesday's lobster ravioli was only just alright. I wasn't tempted to have a second bite.
If you're coming in for lunch I recommend the salad bar. It's got a LOT of choices and it's also a nice little alternative for picky vegetarians who don't like fish (which they have multiple dishes of).
Went here for a baptism, a Sunday afternoon event. The food was okay. We came hungry so we ate it. Nothing spectacular. I did like the mini burgers a lot. Staff did not seem interested in making more food when we ran out. Also did not seem interested in bringing water and coffee... even though we were really hoping this would happen. Middle of the road party stuff. The room was kinda tight also. Alright for a casual event.
Review Source:It had been three years since my last visit to this relatively new Ruby Tueday. The food had been going downhill and their salad bar contained mostly processed salads in various marinades.
On a whim, we decided to go there for dinner. I had the regular hamburger and salad bar. The salad bar had many fresh vegetables and some prepared salads. There was a nice variety of items and they were quite tasty. The hamburger was cooked as ordered and included a nice bun and fixins.
Our waiter was polite and attentive. The restaurant was not overly crowded and there is adequate parking.
Give it a try!
Their salad bar here is a must-try. Its a great place to have a light, yet filling lunch. Their salad bar is all-you-can-eat, inexpensive, and filled with fresh ingrediants for your salad. And if you're not a big fan of salads, they have an extensive menu with lot of other things -- burgers, sandwhiches, pasta, and more. The service here is fast and the food is great.
