The food gets 5 stars. Â I cannot believe that it is 475 calories or less for each dish because the food doesn't taste low calorie at all.
However my fellow patrons appeared to fall exclusively under the category of "dieting single women from the 'burbs looking to mingle over their sugar free cocktails or Chardonnay." Â Needless to say the restaurant reeked of desperation that even my fantastic meal and (master somollelier selected) Malbec couldn't mask.
Service is great - especially management. Â They were definitely making sure I was having a pleasant experience. Â
My favorite item was the Spicy Chipotle Shrimp Flatbread - except I requested parmesan instead of feta cheese. Â We also had the scallops and filet mignon, both were excellent as well. Â Additionally, we had a bottle of Sauvignon Blanc and the Chocolate Peanut Butter Mousse as for a dessert indulgence. Â
Nice atmosphere. Â I look forward to going back.
I liked the fresh ingredients and the calorie conscious menu. We both had the arugula salad and it was extra yummy. A crab spring roll app was shared, and it too was wonderful.
One of us had the grilled scallops, and the other cedar-planked salmon. Our server was startled when I asked him if the scallops were wet or dry. He initially said wet because they seemed moist in the kitchen. After I explained the difference, he went back to ask the chef and came back with the right answer.
The salmon was wild Atlantic, and it could have used a little more seasoning and smoke, but for the Midwest, very good in this Alaskan's opinion.
I really liked the individual desert offerings which were just right!
Pros: DELICIOUS! perfect portion size, great menu, wonderful atmosphere, healthy and low-calorie meals that you can feel good about ordering
Cons: Wine prices were pretty inflated, but I guess that's to be expected
Perfect for: nice family dinners, business lunches, romantic date spot that won't leave you feeling too bloated to have some fun afterward ;0)
I decided to come here for my family birthday dinner. Â I had thought of some other local places, but after giving their nutrition info and ingredient list a look I changes my mind! Â I wanted a place where I could enjoy a nice meal and glass of wine with my family and not feel stuffed or guilty for spending 10 days worth of calories on a pasta dish. Â This was THE place.
All the menu items were under 475 calories (or something very close to that, not over 500). Â Many local items and in season foods were used to make their dishes. Â This place has a new menu for every season, so you're not going to get the same thing twice if you come a few times a year. Â What an awesome mission for a restaurant, am I right? Â Good, healthy and in season food that you won't find anywhere else.
My family of 6 was seated promptly (with reservations) in a nice round booth so we could all see each other. Â We ordered two appetizers (you gotta try the chicken skewers on their winter menu!) and each of us got our own entree. Â I tried to branch out and try something new, so I ordered the mesquite grilled shrimp. Â I'm not usually a seafood lover, but this dish rocked it! Â The serving size was just enough to feel satisfied, but not so much you felt full or needed a doggie bag.
I guess portion sizes could be a downside if you like to gorge yourself at restaurants, but I thought they were perfect. Â Everyone seemed to love their choices! Â This place really was a home run, and you can bet I'll be back.
Not bad for a chain. Awful piano music behind the bar. I don't recommend it in particular, but the food wasn't bad, but it wasn't anything to write home about. The wine list is a bit over the top with things like describing Tempranillo as "Animal and Exotic" (lol), but it has a decent selection. I was hungry and shopping, so the short drive and lure of "fresh seasonal" food drew me in.
Review Source:A chain restaurant, if you had your doubts. Have had lovely lunches here, the food is fresh and tasty, the service is very good and the desserts are divine. And yes I do love that the theme here is healthy and you know how many calories everything has so if you are on a health kick you know of at least one place you can eat out at and not feel guilty!
Food: 5/5 - of course the portions will surprise people who don't know of portion control!
Location: 4/5
Service: 5/5
Have been here twice for lunch now, and both times have been very happy. Â Service was great and the food is quite tasty. Â
Definitely recommend the flatbreads as a starter. Â Usually go for whichever one is on special. Â This last time was their take on an eggplant parmesan I believe. Â I know it had roasted eggplant and a bunch of other yummy stuff, but to be honest, they had me at roasted eggplant! Â Their salads are huge! Â My girlfriend got this for her lunch entree and it was crazy big! Â Definitely enough for a meal. Â I had the chili which I definitely enjoyed and had plenty left over to take home for another lunch. Â
Overall I really like this place and I like their idea of seasonal menus and keeping things somewhat low cal. Â Would recommend a try if you haven't checked it out yet.
Been here numerous times with family and friends and have never had a complaint. The atmosphere is fantastic (classy and upscale but not overbearing), the service is good, and the food is fantastic. It's a little on the expensive side but you get what you pay for. The menu always varies and features tons of different styles while remaining healthy and fresh. Everything is under 500 cals too if that matters to you (even the desserts!) Been here several times before, will probably be back again in the future.
Atmosphere: 9/10
Service: 9/10
Food: 9.5/10
I came here for their media night last year when it first opened and was very impressed. We were given a  tasting of several items on the menu with wine pairings by their master salmene. I'm sure I spelled that wrong but it's the guy who pairs the food with wine. Later, we went back and have taken both sets of parents. It's always been a great time. The food is fresh, they rotate the menu based on the seasons, and most importantly, all entrees are healthy and good for you. Indianapolis needs more places like this. I would never hesistate to come here for a special occassion. Their dessert shots are good too.
Review Source:I am in Indy/Carmel for work for the past few weeks. This has been my go to spot for dinner. Healthy, Fresh, Quality, Tasty, and Great Service. For a chain restaurant, I couldn't expect more. I have had most items on the menu. Will be here for the next two weeks and I will be make many more times. I am not settling either; I have eaten at the majority of restaurants in Indy as I use to live near Broad Ripple a year ago.
Review Source:Business lunch, no wait for a table for 2. Â Seemed moderately busy, but more empty tables than I expected at lunchtime on a Weds.
I made the mistake of being truthful when the waiter asked if I'd ever dined here before. Â I hadn't. Â Okay...the guy knows the concept, knows the menu inside and out...but even though I was a rookie, I didn't want a 5 minute presentation on the restaurant, it's menu, the specials, the soups, etc. Â Less is more.
I had the mahi salad, have to say it was very good. Â Small portion for the price but I'm guessing small portions are how they stay below the stated calorie limit per entree. Â I wanted to order french fries and see if they presented a plate with 5 or 6 french fries on it. Â I'm sure it would have been a beautiful presentation and all, but anyway, I digress.
The dessert that comes with your meal was a nice touch.  It's basically the size of a double shot glass, so you get enough to taste, but don't walk out hating yourself for eating  a huge dessert in the middle of the day.  I had the one that is basically a cannoli.  The filling was good, the cinnamon cannoli shell was very dry and brittle.
Not a bad place by any means. Â Very nicely decorated, knowledgeable staff and after the 5 minute dissertation to start lunch, I have to say that the service was excellent. Â But yeah....$42 (before tip) for a salad with a few pieces of seared mahi, a flatbread pizza that was large enough to qualify as a snack and the double shot desserts. Â Not sure I'd want to spend my own money coming back here. Â
If you are looking for a gluten-free or low calorie menu, this place is exactly what you are seeking. Â Otherwise, well....it's not bad.
A relative gave us a generous gift certificate for the holidays. Â We used it a few months back and I have to say we had a very good experience.
--The place is beautiful and we appreciated the piano player to set a mood. Â Next time we will request the bar area to hear even better. Â We had reservations and were seated promptly even though they were very busy..
--Our waiter came right away, explained about the restaurant and was available to answer questions. Â He was only one of many that tried to make our dining experience a good one. Â I do agree that it did make it a little confusing for them and us at times. Â We saw that they were prepping a large table very close to us, so I suggested that we get started with our order. Â (been in the business)
--We had cocktails, Garlic Chicken Flatbread, Stuffed Mushrooms & Baby Spinach Salad. Â For our entrees he had Grilled Chicken w/tamarind sauce, and I had the grilled lamb chops. Â We had to try a wonderful mini indulgence. Â --and of course a few to go boxes taking a little of everything home! Â Everything was very good, the ambiance and service were good. Â We splurged because we could! Â (gift cert) & had a lunch to go!
--I so agree w/Jim T. and I'm proud to have Seasons 52 here in Indy because of what they stand for. Â I love their nutritional chart and their portions make eating there a no brainer to enjoy your food without worries. Â
We plan to go back and take a relative that will be coming in town for the holiday. Â This is her cup of tea!
This is my family's first restaurant in Indy and it's very much appropriate to be one of our faves. Everything was so good and the ingredients are as good as it gets! We ordered one of their flatbreads and it's definitely good for sharing. One thing that you should not miss is their to-die-for desserts! Those lil dessert cups and addicting!!! You just can't have one.
Review Source:Just ate at Seasons again and had a very nice experience.
I take very strong exception to the reviewer that wants bigger portion sizes. I would not want to eat here if they served typical over-sized meals. I want quality, fresh ingredients and expertly prepared meals. I don't want that compromised by supplying large quantities to unenlightened "Big Gulp" patrons.
I have traveled all over the world and the portion sizes at Seasons are consistent with how most of the world eats. This might be one of the most enlightened restaurants in the city. Let's appreciate what they have brought to the restaurant scene here and not focus on quality and size....unless our goal is to increase our own size.
Seansons 52 does most things right.
Excellent service. Very classy decor. Healthy and seasonal options. Huge space. Well staffed. Solid wine list.
On my last visit I ordered scallops with asparagus on pearl pasta. The scallops and asparagus were cooked perfectly. Everyone with whom I had the pleasure of dining with enjoyed their entrees, too. They even were able to accommodate one of my friends who likes...bland food...and let him order off the kids' menu.
I also had a glass of wine, and sampled both the Chipotle Shrimp and Garlic Chicken flatbreads. The flatbreads were better than I expected, but I'd probably order a salad next time. (The Arugula salad with watermelon and goat cheese is fabulous).
Among the ten of us we shared a DQ ice cream cake we brought in for one of our friend's birthday. (Props to Seasons for not charging us or being weird about it).
Despite the good experience, Seasons 52 won't be MY first choice for dinner anytime soon:
For the price, I find the portion size small. It's one thing for a mom and pop restaurant to charge a little more than I like...and quite another for a chain to do so. I always feel like they're getting more of my money than they deserve. And I work hard for my money, yo!
Still, good food and excellent service. 3.5 stars
Twice we have dined here the first was phenomenal the second was eh...training.
Excellent presentation of menu items and suggestive selling on the first visit! Excellent flatbreads and the lemon chicken was delish!
The second experience, not so awesome. But I'll give her a break she seemed like a new server in the bar section and wasn't all that comfortable yet with menu or speaking with tables.
One slight annoyance was that the booth behind us had friends of servers and they were kind of obnoxious and servers were participating in their antics. Sadly, this is where the actors on the set broke character and kind of ruined the ambiance. We made a quick get away...
I am sure we will be back to rediscover though!
I went to Seasons 52 for the first time on 6/2/12 and had a mixed experience. Â First the great things. Â The ambiance, drinks, salads and deserts were wonderful and awesome. Â
What was not awesome was the service! ! Our server didn't deliver any of our food, never checked back after we received our courses, didn't give us a steak knife for our meat dishes, let our drinks go empty and we had to flag him down to get refills and his personality wasn't "service oriented." Â I've had better service at Burger King.
We really wanted to like Seasons 52 but because our main dishes lacked flavor and our service was horrible we will not be returning!
I went to Seasons 52 last week with some girlfriends and we had a very enjoyable time. Â I liked how accommodating the staff was (regarding splitting our bill and two bottles of wine, appetizer, things like that) and I enjoyed the overall atmosphere of the restaurant.
I didn't realize until we sat down that they change their menu every season (duh!) and that everything was calorie friendly. Â I think this is an upside and downside. Â For me, when I eat out, I really like to indulge, and while they advocate getting several courses, I left feeling not quite "full enough". Â
We had the flatbread with goat cheese, tomatoes and artichoke to start and while it looked like it would feed a table of four, it was so light, we were DEFINITELY hungry for course #2. Â I ordered the pork tenderloin over polenta (which came out looking very much like mashed potatoes, so my brain got confused). Â Either way, the polenta was gritty, tasteless and lacked seasoning.
I felt the same way about my veggies. Â My pork was tender and juicy but overall, I was disappointed in my choice and would not get it again. Â I think it's fine to be calorie conscious in obese-ridden America but if a restaurant really has latched on to that "theme" then I think FLAVOR still must prevail to keep me coming back.
Dessert SAVED my dinner. Our waitress cleverly slipped in with her shot glass filled fresh dessert options for us to choose from and once a choice was made, she surprised us again by placing the option right down - no ordering and waiting here! Absolutely brilliant marketing idea! Â I want to steal it if I ever go into the restaurant biz. Â They were the perfect end to an "eh" meal. Â I wanted three of my coffee/chocolate flavored concoction though! Â My sister got the key lime and it was AMAZEBALLS and I also tried the rocky road which was equally as delicious. Â Somehow their desserts live up to the low calorie + awesome taste-T-ness they strive for but FOR ME, the entree round needs another go.
I plan to go back again but I will be trying out something different. Lucky for me, the menu is always changing so the options are endless. Â
I have to also call out the service. Everything was impeccable and I really appreciated the constant attention, keeping my wine and water glass full and timing our courses perfectly so we still had more than enough time to head to our movie. :)
Took my parents here while I was back home visiting and it was a great dinner. I love the atmosphere in Seasons 52 and of course the food. I had the Grilled Mahi Mahi which came with asparagus and mashed potatoes. The Mahi was great as were the sides. My mom had the filet which she said was really good and my step dad also enjoyed his Ahi Tuna. We finished the meal with one of their mini desserts which are always really good and the perfect portion of dessert so you don't over indulge. My mom and I both got the carrot cake which is great. I don't think I've had any of their mini desserts that are not good.
Our waiter was extremely friendly, but not in a fake way. I've been to Seasons 52 several times and have ordered several different things. What blows my mind is the theme of this restaurant is that everything is under 475 calories, but everything I have ate there is fully flavored with great taste. You leave the restaurant without feeling extremely stuffed and regretful like you would at most restaurants.
I would definitely recommend checking out Seasons 52. Classy environment and great food.
Wow. This place was extremely fancy. We didn't plan on going here, or anywhere in particular for that matter. This was suggested, and we agreed that it sounded good.
We pulled up, and when I saw that there was valet service, I kinda thought "Oh great." Not quite what we were looking for.
We walked in, and I felt terribly under dressed (well, wearing a flanel plaid shirt, jeans and converse). Eeehhh.
I was really nervous to look at the menu.
Yeah. It was a bit pricey. I think I got some tiger shrimp pasta for maybe $17? And some white bean soup. Everything was healthy and while not seething with flavor, it was flavorful enough- It make you feel good about eating it.
Our server was very informative and kind. She brought out little mousse shooter things at the end of our meal, told us about all of them and let us have one.
As much as I don't like chains.......I LOVE Seasons 52. How can you not love the seasonal (local!?) food and crazy-healthy food options? I'm a huge fan of the flatbreads and the duck chop salad. Also, the mini indulgences...ahh!
Also, they always have a live performer...who can argue with that? We had lots of fun singing to Rocket Man....:)
I'd been excited about a Seasons 52 coming to Indy for a long time. I love the concept (fresh, seasonal food, all under 450 calories a plate) and I love the decor, drinks, and feel.
But it's just underwhelming. I had the filet the last I was there and it was a decent cut, but I'm not kidding, I regularly get WAY better from Fresh Market for $8.
The service is also troubling. I was there with a friend and we lingered after our meal...but under great scrutiny! I felt like I was being pushed out of there. I hate that.
I've been twice now, not sure I'll give it another go.
Third visit. Â Kind of disappointing. Â As before, the appetizers and salads were the best thing here. Â The flatbread pizzas are interesting and fun to sample. Â I ordered a "fresh" fish entree, though, and the fish was distinctly fishy, as well as being overcooked and dry, despite being smothered with a pretty good sauce.
I'm sure some people complain about their food just to troll for freebies, so I'm always reluctant to bring up the topic with the wait staff. Â This entree was bad enough that I discreetly mentioned to the waiter that he might want to steer other diners away from it the rest of the evening. Â Somewhat surprisingly, he didn't really seem interested, and although I would have declined, most restaurants would have offered to bring something else as a substitution.
There doesn't seem to be anything wrong with Seasons 52. And, they live up to their name!
What more could you want? Healthy food? A seasonal changing menu? Semi-healthy desserts? You got it!
At Seasons 52, like you've read all over the place, they specialize in seasoned food that is under 475 calories per plate, and some appetizers are way under. Their mini $2.5 desserts are under 300 I believe, and are delicious--despite what I thought. They look like liquid shots of dessert, but they are more hearty (without a clogged hearty).
We started with Tandoori chicken skewers with a dill sauce and mango salsa, 3 sticks per order. They were tasty--It's hard to mess those up.
I ordered the lemongrass salmon salad which was huge!! You definitely get your money's worth.
Everything else looked delicious. For dessert I tried the peanut butter/chocolate mousse cake and the carrot cake. The carrot cake was wonderful! It had the perfect amount of cake to icing ratio, and like good carrot cake bakers, they added raisins and nuts. YUM! The chocolate and peanut butter mouse was delectable, but I had to go digging in the second layer for the chocolate--but I got there, don't you worry!
All in all, Indiana needs Seasons 52 for reasons unmentionable ;)
When I come back for the holidays, I will stop by again.
Note: some of the appetizers are very small, and probably cannot be shared, so be prepared to ask your server about those proportions.
Interesting place...charming atmosphere...friendly and competent staff
Food was O.K.....great that everything is low cal...but everything I had was awfully salty tasting...as a caveat...I rarely put salt on anything...thus many things taste perfect to others....are over salted to me.
However...if the numbers on the web site are correct...the amount of salt in their offerings is rediculously high...totally unecessary.
Went to Seasons 52 while visiting friends in Indianapolis. We ate in the bar and split a series of dishes and a bottle of pinot. The menu is vast and has nice options for all types of dining interests - fresh ingredients and nicely sized and priced. We shared a bottle of pinot, they have a nice wine list, and also enjoyed selections from their mini-dessert "buffet". We almost grabbed the entire thing, we had 8 out of the 10 or so desserts at our table and rotated our choices around. They were really, really tasty.
The bar is a piano bar, and the woman playing piano has been playing in Indianapolis since I was a kid. She sang Neil Diamond "Sweet Caroline' and everyone in the bar was wailing the words like a wedding. It was quite entertaining, especially in such a "nice" restaurant. It's probably going to be the new Cork and Cleaver (showing my age).
The interior is nice, warm and arts & crafts era influenced. It'll be a nice place for a warm and cozy winter dinner. Turns out this place is owned by Red Lobster, but, you didn't hear that from me. Â It made me sentimental for the old Keystone Grill, despite being a whole new building (again, showing my age).
By the time we left we ate well over the calories that they declare their meals being, heh, but, it was well worth it.
My friend and I were getting together for dinner and the place we  originally wanted to try out was closed.  Apparently, it was only open until 3:00...so dinner was out.
My friend lives in the area and was curious to try this place out since it is fairly close to his house and had recently changed from a Mexican restaurant to Seasons 52. Â The name comes from the seasonal menu that they offer. Â No entree is more than 475 calories, which is a great place to go if you really want to eat healthy...but as you can imagine, the portion sizes are modest...as they should be...but at prices that may have you wondering...WTH?! :-)
As soon as we walked in the door and we were handled a card for future reservations, I knew we had walked into a place that was more upscale than we were dressed for. Â But, it was cool. Â We were immediately seated in the bar area -- rather than wait 45 minutes for a table in the dining room.
Nice atmosphere...appears to be a great meeting place for yuppies after work. Â Live performer in the bar area playing nice bluesy music.
My friend had the scallops which he said were very good and I had a spinach salad and an order of flatbread. Â I also ordered a Pinot Noir and the wine list was not only quite extensive, but offered many affordable choices for wine by the glass. Â I had a California Pinot Noir.
All in all, it was a very good experience.
Bad news first - My party and I had a private room in the back for a dinner presentation. And although the room was private we could hear quite loudly the rooms next door. This noise was also amplified by the waiters/waitresses opening and closing the door to serve us. Yes, I understand great service means being there at the drop of a dime for us (which was great!) but also be weary that there is a presenter and it causes a lot of traffic/disruption.
Good news - the wait staff was incredibly nice. Each server was very helpful and courteous. Their food, since it's season, was very delicious.
With an impressive wine list. I had the farmer's market vegetable plate and it was awesome. Their selection of Moscato was also fantastic. Some of my colleagues had their cedar plank roasted salmon, filet mignon, and pork tenderloin and all look very good. Their "mini indulgences" are also a delight! I had the Belgian chocolate rocky road mousse and it was a little too sweet for my taste but it was just the right portion.
Since it is a fairly new restaurant  CALL AHEAD! I tried making reservations for 5 on a separate occasion 3 days ahead and maybe they were particularly busy that day but they were all booked.

My husband and I had the pleasure at dining at a Season 52 in Orlando, FL almost 7 years ago. We loved it then and were beyond excited that they opened one here in Indianapolis.
We were able to go March 14th (a Monday) and it was better than we remembered the restaurant being. Service is fantastic, atmosphere like nothing else in the city (live piano bar 7 nights a week!), and the food is delish!
Nothing on the menu is over 425(?) calories! But it all tastes much more fattening than it is. :) We had a flatbread, crab stuffed mushrooms, and both of our entrees were flavorful. The portions are just right.
Drinks and wine list can't be beat! Their chocolate martinis are my favorite.
One note, this is not a "kid friendly" restaurant. Get a sitter. We did and had one of the best date nights.
We went to Seasons 52 for lunch today and I'm really glad I did. Â For those of you unfamiliar with their concept, everything on their menu is seasonal (i.e. they change the menu every quarter or so) and everything is under 475 calories (so pretty healthy). Â We started with the roasted beets with wasabi dipping sauce. Â They were a special & were pretty good. Â I then had the blackened fish tacos which were delicious. Â There were 3 tacos with a perfectly cooked piece of mahi mahi in each. Â They were flavored perfectly & came with a chipotle sour cream & pico de gallo. Â YUM! Â My dining companion had the scallops with asparagus and said it was really good too.
For dessert we each had a mini indulgence. Â Mine was a caramel, mocha, brownie concoction and hers was Meyer lemon. Â Both were really tasty and just the right size.
They had an extensive wine list with many many wines available by the glass. Â I didn't have any wine but plan to when I go back.
Seasons 52 is definitely worth checking out!
Wow - second restaurant opening that I've been to on the northside in the last few months. Â
Stopped in tonight (03/09/2011) Â without a reservation and we (2) were seated immediately. Wine list is interesting and ended up getting the Pinot Noir glass and thoroughly enjoyed it. Â
As TB mentioned in the other review - the flat breads are terrific. Â Had the Salmon which was perfect and just the right amount of sides (i.e. not an amount of sides to become overstuffed). Â Desserts - great selection and perfect size. (again).
Manager seemed to be in constant motion roaming around the restaurant checking on issues and keeping an eye on everything. Â I believe the restaurant opened this week 03/08/2011 but everything seemed to be running smoothly.
Staff have been in training for the last three weeks.
Issues: When the singer (?piano?) started - a bit too loud and had to increase conversation levels. Â Then as it got later in the evening the natural background discussions in the main dining room also seemed to get louder. Â Perhaps sitting over to one of the sides would make it a quieter dinner environment. Â
Will definitely stop by again but probably not on a weekend night where I could foresee considerable crowds (and a loud environment).
