Hopped into this place on a rainy Saturday night and stayed for about maybe 20 minutes before leaving.

First thing to note: this place is about the size of a walk-in closet (okay, I pretty good size closet), but nonetheless...people are stuffed in here like sardines. My amaretto sour was much too sweet, as with most mixed drinks in any place in the good ol' South.

Music was off the chainnnnn! They played some house remixed with some techno and hiphop. I was really feeling the vibe of this place, but the night was young and the bar hoppin' must continue else-where.

If house music and looking cool is your scene, this is the spot for you.  This, however, is not my scene.  Which is fine, cuz it can't be everyone's schitck...I'm just not hipster enuf for this place.

It was super dead when I accidentally wandered in here with my girls one night.  I didn't drink, I couldn't dance...we left.  Sorry, Seed, we just aren't on the same wave length.

This place sometimes gets really crowded on Friday and Saturday night around 12 pm. There is a long line to get in. it has nice decor, however they need better DJ's...
It's hard to dance when your next to everyone. too many people fitting into a  little night club.

Love to dance here on weekends, and sometimes they have good drink deals.

Drinks are super yum! Ask Chris to make you something special and he will come back with a tasty and thoughtful drink.

Not sure how "eco" the place is, but it's nice. Weird crowd on the weekends. Music is hit or miss.

Some friends and i went there on a friday night and had a great time.  Its a small little bar/club that plays great music, a little tecno, hip hop, micheal jackson and reggae.  The crowd of people that go there are very diverse which i love.   Get there early on weekends b/c it gets full pretty quick due to it being so small.  Oh yea the deco inside is very nice.

Went here for the name, I guess...

The club was empty at prime time. Good bartender, but the scene was just dead. Looks like someone with money wanted to open a cool looking bar but didn't care about it enough to stay after the grand opening.

At least there was no cover.

Stopped in here for only a second but figured I would leave a review for those in Savannah that might want something different from the typical draught choices that you will find.  We ducked in here during the St. Paddy's parade and was instantly impressed that they had Sierra Nevada and Ranger IPA.  Score!

Service was quick, place is pretty small like most the bars in Savannah but it wasn't as crowded as some of the other places on River Street or near City Market either.  That's a good thing!

Ask Chris to make you a Pimm's cup.  Very good.  Cool ambience.  Packed after 11, so get there early.

Sleek little minimalist lounge with an Eco-mission. Interesting, organic offbeat bottles behind the bar. Go early if you are looking for some conversation. Late night may bring fist-pumping dance wannabes.

This place has lots of potential - great decor, prime location, and organic booze...can't argue with that. We just happened to be there on a night when it was pretty empty, but grabbed a corner of the lounge area and enjoyed being able to hear each other talk (a rare occurrence during cocktail outtings).

Decent wine list, though the servers are there to pour not wax poetic about the wines, unfortunately. They've got a tempting list of cocktails, like the cucumber martini...go ahead, tell yourself it's good for you even though it tastes like a jolly rancher.

With a few more people in the house, this would be a prime spot. Open space with lounge areas in the 2 corners, music pumping, small bar, upscale trendy vibe. Good , mellow place to start the night on a "healthy" note (because organic makes even the dirtiest martini a virtuous one...right).

    Oh, The Seed...

Let me just say that my first encounter with Seed was an accident. There I was, just sitting with my boyfriend pretending to watch football, when a young man sat down next to me to chat. We talked for a while, mostly about the sports we played in high school, I thought he was pretty awesome, and then he walked away. A week later I walked into Seed, for the first time, on a typically packed Saturday night, to find that nice man behind the bar. He is one of the owners. And I don't know about you, but I am always happier to give my money to an establishment when I like the owner.

But, about the place... Seed is a bar/lounge/small club all existing in one room. Everything in Seed, including the liquor is supposed to be organic. They serve strong drinks in actual glasses and their to-go cups are made out of that biodegradable corn plastic stuff. The people behind the bar are always nice. You can't smoke inside but there is a heater by the front door for the cold weather if you have to step outside.

There are sofas to lounge on, although refrain from lap dances because we CAN see you and it's NOT that dark. There are great wooden tables to rest your glass on, although they are really solid so try NOT to FALL over drunk on one or you will end up bloody, like the girl I picked up off the floor last week. There is enough space for DANCING but Seed is not that big and so, if you get the urge to dance on a Saturday night and decide to go to Seed, be prepared to WAIT in line outside while being NICE to the guy at the door who has to stand there all night and count and can't "just let you in," no matter how obnoxious you get.

Seed is not just for weekends though. I have been there on Thursdays, the start of SCAD's weekend, Wednesdays, because I can, and every other day, because it's nice in there and the people are friendly. Try it out. Even if it's not your scene, watching the hipsters try to bump and grind without any semblance of rhythm before looking around and scoffing at the fact that they may be lost, will leave all you who are no longer "just 21" giggling. Sometimes, even though I love Savannah, it is nice to be in a place like Seed which has managed to attract a clientele who has yet to be hit by the American Apparel/Urban Outfitters infection that plagues the youth of this small city.

On a side note, I know the idea of catching the AA/UO infection is frightening, but the best protection is avoiding neon leggings and cowboy boots, especially when paired with jeans and a skirt and shirt and a puffy vest... What would be the reason for ever walking out of the house that way? Don't judge them. It's just the AA/UO infection.
