I am serioz-ly (see what I did there?) slacking on my review of this place. Â Shame on me.... Â I had a din din date with my mom a couple of weeks ago. Â We chatted for a few and then decided to get take out of some sort instead of getting into a car and driving. Â
I am a big fan of their pizza, it is flavorful and the crust is perfect. Â Up until this evening, that was the only thing I had from them and I have never been disappointed. That said, neither one of us were in the mood for pizza that night. Â We perused the menu and decided to get a couple of pasta dishes instead. Â I am really glad we went with that option. Â We ordered the Cheese Ravioli and the Melanzana Parmesan. Â UMMMM HOLY! Â The Melanzana was a different take on regular Eggplant Parmesan and a much metter take in my opinion. Â It was thin slices of eggplant layered like a lasagne with cheesy goodness and a tangy spicy sauce. Â I was so impressed I wanted to go over there on my way home and ask for the recipe so I could attempt to make this at home. Â The ravioli was equally as good. Â I really like the sun-dried tomato sauce they used, it had a good flavor to it and was a little more sweet that I would have thought. Â The ravioli's themselves were HUGE and stuffed full of cheese. Â We also got a couple of salads, ya know to balance things out. Those were also big and enough to take home and have for a side with my lunch the next day.
Even with it being delivered, the food was hot and the salads were fresh. Â Granted they are all of about 3 minutes from her house, but I have not always been that lucky to get still pipng hot food and fresh salads when I have done the delivery thing from other places. Â I must say it was an awesome date with my mom as usual, and I am really glad I tried something different from here.
Normally I am a big proponent of this restaurant, as I have frequented it many times either as a dine-in or carry-out customer. But my latest carry-out order has me so dissatisfied I am considering taking all future business to Nonna's down the street.
First, I wasn't even offered a bag to carry-out my three take-out order items. While I realize that I could have asked for a bag, I really don't belive I have to ask when I tipped the individual I spoke with 15% to walk in and take the order from them.
Second, the salad we received was the wrong salad. I don't have a Ph D in English, but when you order a "Chopped Salad," and receive a "Caprese Salad" instead, that amounts to nothing but horrible service.
Third, the Bianca pizza I ordered must have been sitting under their heat lamp since the previous Friday night, as it was cold and stale. I haven't had a pizza that stale since I ordered a $5 Blackjack pizza as an undergrad at CU-Boulder. I understand serving a food item the same day, but serving a food item that is at least a day old, and passing it off as fresh, is a disservice to the food indrustry.
I am a long-time Lowry resident and will never be coming back to your restaurant. In fact, 3/4 of your Bianca pizza now lays to rest in my trash can. While your business did offer to comp our next salad, it's too little, too late for me. For the good of your business and the Lowry community, please work on your product and your customer service. And please have it done by yesterday.
Do not go here for lunch. It took them an HOUR to make a sandwich. The staff was grouchy, the food was mediocre. I cannot believe I spent $14 dollars for a sandwich I could have gotten across the street at Albertson's for half the price in a fraction of the time. I was a little disappointed by the experience since I've been wanting to try Serioz since I started working in the area. Their place always smells delicious when I walk by - Sadly, this is simply the lure with which they bait the hook for hapless passers-by. Needless to say, I will not be returning.
