Sgt Pepper's Dueling Pianos is definitely a great way to end your night of dtlb bar hopping. We ended the night here on a Saturday. Cover was $5 per person. The place is fairly large with plenty of tables.

Basically, there's a stage in the front with two people playing the pianos. They play and sing and make fun of everyone. They also call people onto the stage if they are celebrating a birthday or anniversary. If it's your birthday the whole crowd yells at the person and says "You bitch! You slut! You whore!" Definitely a fun time here. Also they had a "competition" between the two piano players. They split up the room and ask people to throw their bras or panties up on stage. 2 points for bras and 10 point for clean underwear. Our side had some down chicks who took off their bras! This isn't just a bar, it's straight entertainment. You can also request a song, but don't forget to tip them! The more you tip, the faster they'll play your song.

The crowd on the Saturday night was a late 20's to early 30's kind of crowd with some people in their 40's.

This was definitely one of the more entertaining bars that I've been too. You should definitely check it out if you're looking for a great time!

After experiencing regret paying a cover for amateur entertainment up the street, we decided to opt out of paying the cover on this one, so technically, I've not been inside. However, walking by, we heard one of their singers butchering Locked Out of Heaven, and our decision to skip this place was quickly validated.

What a cool place to hang out

I've been to Piano Piano in Claremont but this was my first time at this location.  Although quite smaller, the energy on a Wednesday night was just as rowdy.  The piano performers were impressive and kept the hype throughout the weekday night.  The crowd was singing along and enjoying discounted drinks.  They had $3 wells, wines for specials.  I sat with 3 other people and enjoyed the requested songs played.  There were 3 groups celebrating birthdays when I came.  They all random celebrated people up to play games.  All is fun in games.

On the night I came, the crowd was a little older.  I recommend if you love getting drunk with some friends and singing along to some songs.

Not bad for a week night! Decent prices on drinks (had the gummy bear and jack/coke). Yummy and fun vibe. I'd do it again!

    "You Bi&%$, you Sl$%, you Wh&^%*!"

Haha this place is awesome! I had so much fun with my friends. Came here on a Friday night and it was a good crowd. It was a full house but not to the point where you can't walk around and enjoy yourself. I was so bummed when they told me that they weren't selling the fish bowl drinks that weekend! I was really looking forward to trying it.

Cover was 7 dollars. The pianists were so talented and funny. I loved how vulgar they were LOL. If you're the type of person who gets offended really easily, then this place may not be for you. You can request songs and of course, the more you tip them the faster they will get to your song. However, if they don't know how to play your song, they will give you back your money haha.

I will definitely come back again. I had such a great time :)

Interesting vibe.  I'd do it again.

This is basically a big bar.  The bar has pretty good food.  The bar has all-night entertainment: two guys taking tips for all-bar karaoke.

If you enjoy adult contemporary, or pop songs in general, this is the place for you. The incredibly talented pianists play a wide variety from past decades to current hits. While the atmosphere is a little raunchy, if you can get over that, you will definitely have a great time. Have never ordered any food, the drinks are reasonably priced and the staff makes sure everyone is having a good time. You cant just be a spectator or wallflower at Sgt Peppers, you have to immerse yourself into the atmosphere to truly enjoy yourself. Definitely a fun place if you are a fan of music and musical talent-and overall a fun time with other people! Even if you don't know anyone here, you will find yourself a part of the crowd.

Had fun, was in town for a conference at long beach convention center.   While they had food on menue, I'd say plan on snacks rather than dinner.  Happy hour on ran until the piano starts up.  Fun talented guys.  Try to think of some requests befor you get there, they'll have fun with it and get you to smile.  Yes you have to tip the guys, nothings for free. ... Going rate for wackier requests seems to be $20 but a couple of bucks might be able to do the trick.

Came here to celebrate my birthday.

They have a birthday package that gets you some lei's, balloons and a bday hat as well as one bottle of some ice cold bubbly (although I had to actually ask for it) it was an extra $35 on the tab.

This place was super fun. We had excellent drinks! The bartenders definitely know their stuff here. As far as the food goes, for a bar it was pretty top notch. I had the sampler which came with some sliders, onion rings, and cheese sticks. No complaints on the food, everything tasted great and came out fast.

The talent here is amazing. You basically get to request any songs you want, but of course tipping matters, so if you tip more than your song will more likely get played over others.

If its your birthday youd better prepare to get roasted!! all in good fun of course.

This is the only dueling piano bar around the area so if you havent experienced it yet definitely highly recommend.

Cheers! You B** You SLU+ You Wh0rrr!! (thats their song)

Coming Saturdays': Cover before 8pm-$7.00 after 8pm-$10.00

Spin off on some of your favorite songs, dueling pianos, vulgar languages and booze!!

YOU SLUT, YOU B**TCH, YOU WH**E, this is the place to go.
Whether you are celebrating a engagement, birthday, divorce or just looking for some raunchy fun, this would be a good place to try at least once or maybe more.

Two piano, dueling between each other, tip your favorite guy and your song will get pushed to the front, usually a $20 would work!!

Crowd is pretty cool and chill, everyone there is to have a great time and sing along to songs they know, hate or love!

Bar food menu, I was able to eat a Rock and roll sampler, 2 chicken slider, 4 mozzarella sticks, 6 hot wings and 6 onions rings. Food was a-ok, it's bar food.  BUT the nachos were BOMB and BIG!!! Gimme!!! Tons of chips, chicken, guacamole, cheese, sour cream and topped with salsa!!!

Drinks are a little pricey and hot damn strong!!

Drinks are ok, food is ok.....our waitress was great! Super nice and gave us prompt attention despite the crowds.  Raunchy, adult humor is on par with other duelling piano places, although some cheap shots are taken, so beware if you sit in the front rows, and be ready to have a flashlight beamed at your face while it's done. People come here for the music, so I'm rating the musicians:

Adam Browne: My favorite! Incredible voice, and phenomenal piano player.  He played some songs that I couldn't believe could be done on the piano (he even rapped)  I would come back just to watch him, he's very talented.

Scott Doyle:  A ham. Good improviser, okay voice, and a talented drummer. I would categorize his humor as typical white-fratboy-jerk  (he made some pretty mean fat jokes at a size 4 girl throughout the night) so be warned if you're not a white male or a pretty white girl.

Ronnie Shelton: King of old- school! He has an easy stage presence which is more relaxing-entertaining than let's-get-this-party-started, and you can tell he's a true pro at this. Great voice, and solid piano chops. He will bust out with the songs that everyone will start singing along with.

Paid Sgt Pepper's a visit this past Saturday on a whim with some friends.  Dueling pianos is not something new to me, but for those who may not know, it can be a real fun interactive experience.  Really depends on the crowd.  Think of it as music comedy show.

Anyhow, we didn't order food here, so I cannot comment on that aspect of the place.  However, here are my thoughts on going here for a walk by drinking experience.

    The GOOD:
Outdoor patio to the right just after you walk in is much easier to find a place to sit or stand, and you can still here the music and show going ons.  Place is really clean and well kept I think, and the drinks seemed pretty spot on.  After the show, we caught a food truck (4 of a kine) which actually was pretty awesome.

    The BAD:
I think the bar is too small for their size.  We got there and waited about 40 minutes before we could place a drink order, and then it took about 10 minutes to get our drinks.  There were four of us drinking, so it wasn't our group size.  The wait was so bad I ordered my first and second round of drinks, and shots and rather have them sit at our table then have to sit in the line again.  They need to get that fixed.

    The CROWD:
Mainly 20s and 30s and some tourist from the local hotels nearby.  IT is a tourist area so you will get a mix.  This place isn't a "meat market" environment and people are all pretty friendly and relaxed.  One good thing about sitting outside on the patio, you can interact with the people walking out on the street going between the different establishments.

    OVERALL:
It is a fun place, crowd size is manageable, and despite getting there during peak times, we still found a place to relax and hang.  Prices are what you would expect as well, so nothing really to report there.  Would I go again?  Yeah it is fun but I would try to be really aggressive in getting my drinks lol

This place is the biznaz! Crude, but entertaining humor. Interactive crowd of all ages (of 21+). Time flies by when you're here! They have fishbowls, so come prepared with your party group.

Music was loud, flowing, and nonstop. I enjoyed watching the 30YOs, 40YOs, 50YOs and even 70YOs drinking, dancing and partying it up. I hope I'm that hip when I get to that age!

AWESOME place. I love and I mean LOVE the waiters here. They are very helpful, nice and they are on top of their game. The show is probably the most funniest thing to watch especially when everyone participates. The musicians are NOT SHY nor will they be. Cactus Cooler was bomb and for the 10 drinks and food the bill was fair...I would like to see "happy hour" prices but for the place and how things are set up it was all worth it, I suggest bringing lots of cash and dollar bills. Not for strippers but for the AWESOME performers. Entrance charge was good $7.

Came here on the spur of the moment, arriving at 5:50pm on Saturday night. Lucked out and was able to be seated, but over in the corner. Next time, I will have a reservation to sit somewhere in the middle. Only complaint was that it was pretty loud which made it hard to understand what the guys were saying.
There are no prices on the drink menu so were pleasantly surprised that after 4 drinks and 3 beers, and a huge basket of chips,  the tab was only $54. Surprising for a Saturday night and endless entertainment.
They pianists were fantastic and switched off each hour. Average age of the crowd is definitely not 21 (until after 9pm) but that was fine because we liked the songs they were playing. Loved the bawdyness of the guys so be ready for some language and sometimes shocking antics for the birthday boy or girl.
And appreciated the reviews we read on Yelp!

    what a party!
you'd be surprised at the amt of songs these guys can bust out on a piano -IN THE CITYYY...CITY OF COMPTON!
Be prepared to be embarrassed if you come here for your bday/bachelorette/etc.
Also, bring lots of small bills for tips- your songs will get played if there's money attached to the song request.

Came here a couple of times, same fun every time.

Perfect place to let loose and just have some grownup fun with your favorite people. A fun crowd every time. Talented pianists/comedians. Spontaneous jokes that cracked up the whole crowd.

Yet, if you are on a first date, DONT come here or mixed signals will be sent.

Alert: vulgar and obscene language/gestures/performance [sometimes] so be prepared to be shocked if it is your first time.

For sure I will come back for more "mature" laughs :D

Been here a few times - Great for large parties as you can email them your RSVP and they've been very accommodating for last minute changes.

Great for a cheap entertainment on Wednesday, Thursday - No cover and you and a date can just appreciate the music while sipping on cocktails.

I went there on Saturday, Feb. 16th, for a birthday party.  There were 8 of us, we got there at  6pm and we had a $7 cover pp except for the bday girl.  We had great seats (I think the bday girl called ahead to reserve), and our server was very attentive and prompt; he checked on us regularly and made sure we were taken care of.  Hubby and I ordered a sampler platter that had beef, chicken and shrimp kabobs and a B.L.A.T.(Bacon Lettuce AvocadoTomato) sandwich.  We liked it all except for the bacon on the sandwich which was super under cooked.  Their specialty shots are good but super sweet so after 1 Vegas Bomb shot I stuck to my typical vodka and water with lime because I did not want a killer hangover from the sweet stuff.  Also, the server was nice enough to split our bills up per couple so there wasn't any calculation madness at the end of the night.

The deuling pianos were awesome!  There were four people who traded off and I liked that because they each had their own style so it didn't get monotonous.  They were EXTREMELY talented and hilarious too!  I have been to other dueling piano bars but I thought this was much better than those; I was entertained the whole time.  In other reviews I see that others don't like the cover charge but in my opinion it was well worth it.  When you go to see a show, performance, movie, concert, etc, you are going to pay for it and usually it will be more than $7 too.  I paid the 7 bucks, plus put in song requests and paid for each of those and still paid less than I did at the last performace I went to and better yet...I enjoyed this place much more!

I will absolutely go back to Sgt. Peppers :)

I've been several times, and it's hard not to have fun here.  Very popular for birthday/bachelorette parties.  I love the Puff the Magic Dragon Berry cocktail.  I seriously wish I could order that in every bar.  Unless you want to stand all night, please please make a reservation.  It's always jam packed.  The bathroom situation is not the best...only a few stalls for all those drunk girls?  Get there before 8pm to avoid the pricier cover charge.

    It's definitely an experience.
Probably wouldn't go back but would recommend anyone to try going at least once.

I've heard of battle of the bands but dueling pianists? That's a first. Extremely enjoyed myself!!...well after we found seats!

I was told that we didn't have to pay cover charge before 7pm but we did... that part sucked... fairly pricy for what you see.

Fish bowl was awesome but definitely watered down... came out sober.

This place is hit or miss, depending on the piano players.  If there is a good crowd that is very interactive, this place can be quite entertaining.  I usually visit here and the Dub next door, both aren't stay the night at but can be rotated between.  Real fun, but get there early if you want a table, they are usually full and stay that way all night.

I'm an easy sell on piano bars, but this place was legit. Pianists were talented, the atmosphere was jovial and singing along encouraged, and the drinks were really affordable (little skimpy on the booze I will add).

Would certainly not take a first date here, but if you're looking for a fun place to hang out be noisy, and grab a few drinks this place is a good choice. We went with a large group on Friday night, and the place was crowded but certainly not over-packed. You could still move around freely, get drinks easily and even find some scattered empty seats.

This place is super chill, with great vibes! A freind of mine gets the hook-ups on drinks here; I had 2 mixed drinks and 3 beers, my friend had the same and for both of us I payed 30 bucks! yeah pretty good hook-up. But if there was no hook up I would still come here. This place is great for groups. I love the patio area more than the inside, where the Piano dueling is taking place.

A good place to take your date if you don't want to chat. The music is loud and the jokes are okay. It was very hard to find a seat on a Friday night, I guess most people make reservations. My friends and I just stood outside on the patio so we could chat and hangout. We got a fishbowl drink that was pretty good. I can't remember if there was a cover.

If you're the conservative, easily offended type, this is not the place for you. The performers are blunt, witty, and curse like sailors. I loved it! My cheeks hurt from smiling all night long at their cracks and their awesome renditions of songs that ranged from "Baby Got Back" to "Tiny Dancer." Excellent performers and true talent. We got there a tad late and had to wait about 20 minutes for a table. We order an appetizer which was decent. Great beer specials. We even met one of the Pianists and had a great conversation with him and he bought us a round of shots! I would recommend this spot to anyone!

So if your a stick in the mud you'd rate this place below a 4 star.

I came here for my bday and it was probably the best time I've had. We met Scott from the band and he was more than nice to us. He bought my table a birthday round of shots, was personable and funny!  Geeez he even took me on stage and made me have the time of my life!

If that doesn't seem like a good time I don't know what is. We bought a bucket of beer, 5 beers for $25 and for my Mexican homies, the guero band sang Tragos Amargos  by Ramon Ayala!

Can't wait to go back! Thank you Sgt. Peopers and Scott!

My hot date and I came here to find out what the hype was all about... Well we weren't too happy.

Not a good place to bring a date. Def a good place for a group and/or Bday party WITH reservations. Drinks were fairly priced & it was def entertaining, but very loud and a handful of drunks attempting to dance and spilling their drinks.

I would go back with a big group. Not a hot date.

    Pros:

Great fun times singing (oldie but goodie songs & even some recent songs too) along w/ guys @ front w/ pianos =) +1

If you really want to interact & dance w/ the music, you should sit in the front rows =)

You put $$ cash in for your song requests, if you really want to hear your song badly, you put even more $$ =)

    Songs can get ranchy..fun fun.. =) +1

Food (good portions..but can be greasy..) +1

    Cons:

Drinks- very BAD...either no taste/ no alcohol in them =( -1

Service was just ok, very slow towards the end..

People tend to crowd around in the back watching..kinda creepy.. =(

Overall, a good place to try out at least once in your lifetime if you have never been to a piano dueling bar.. =)

WARNING: Sgt. Pepper's is loud, raunchy, and definitely not kid-friendly...just the way I like it!

This is probably one of the best places to celebrate a birthday (like I did), bachelor(ette) party, or really anything at all...as long as you don't mind a little embarrassment ;).  If you're unfamiliar with how dueling piano bars work, it's a completely audience driven experience where you request songs for the piano players to play.  It blows my mind how many songs these guys know!  What really makes this place great is the comedic talents of the players and their interaction with the audience.  They have no shame and everyone is a target!

Some helpful info: Sgt. Pepper's takes reservations which is highly recommended if you go on a Friday or Saturday night.  They have a full food menu and, obviously, a full bar.  They charge a cover of $7 before 8:00 p.m. and it goes up a little after 8:00 p.m.

If you love music and a little adult comedy, please check this place out.  You will not be disappointed!

Love, love, love this place.  I came here last month for my roommates birthday.  We got there when it opened at 7 for happy hour.  $3 beers? Any beer?  I am down.  I bought like 8 beers before happy hour ended and paid less than I did last night at the fair for 3.  A lot less.  Also, the food is half price during happy hour.  The portions are bigger than my big head and we shared nachos and didn't finish them all.

Then the show starts and it gets crazy.  Get liquored up and sing along with the piano men.  Seriously.  Drink a lot and go crazy.  I am amazed that these guys sang and did a show for like 3 hours without a break.  The show is interactive, they make fun of a lot of people and you can get your friend roasted up on stage.  If you want your song played, you better bring money, but if you're like me and you just want to sit and enjoy the show, you don't need spend money on anything except for drinks.

Also, the place is 21 plus and that means the show is for adults.  If you are an adult who does not like being an adult, enjoys censorship or can't watch HBO, you should not be here.  Have fun at Denny's with the kids.

Man are these pianists vulgar!  It's friggin' awesome!  I have never been to a place, sans strip clubs (ahem*) that cusses so much and treats their audience in such an offensive way.  These pianists are entertainers, and would surely make you laugh at their impromptu lyrics and music style.  If you have never been to a bar/restaurant that takes musical requests (you give them a song for them to play while tipping), this place is surely worth a try.  It is a unique place, and is essentially a show.

Parking can get troublesome if you go on the weekend.  Drinks are good, we got this bowl thing with melon flavor and was enough for a party of four.  Food is average, nothing spectacular.  Just keep an eye on your wallet because besides the $7 entrance fee, you'd be sure to spend extra just requesting for more songs and participation of their activities!

I absolutely love this place! It's such a fun, cheap, and entertaining night for all your celebratory needs. Bachelorette party? check! Bachelors party? check! Birthday? CHECK!!

Sgt Pepper's Dueling Piano is your go to place for all occasions. The setting is located in lovely downtown long beach, on the corner of South Pine Ave, and Bay St. It's right across the street from the long beach downtown convention center.

As I have explained, Sgt Peppers is an amazing comedic musical show. Just a note, the cover fee is $7 and it's advised you make reservations (so you'll have a seat). The foods, are typical bar food (i.e Nachos, Fries, Burgers, etc). I'm a big fan of the beer battered fries, if I recall correctly its about $4-$5.

In regards to the alcohol, we tried the Melon Fish Bowl (have a look at my photos). It's a fishbowl full of alcohol! $25 and it was enough for the four of us.

The entertainment was just such a delight. There are two pianos on the stage, and the two pianist duel out playing and singing your favorite songs. You have can request songs, but be sure to tip! Because they tend to get to the tippers first. I'm not gonna spoil to much in regards to the entertainment, but they do a great job getting the audience involved. :)

In regards to the parking. We never have any trouble getting street parking on the next block. Just an FYI meter is in effect until 8PM.

Overall, Sgt Pepper's Dueling Pianos is an amazing place to bring a date, or simply for any celebration. Be sure to check this place out.

    OH and I forgot ...

YOU BITCH! YOU SLUT! YOU WHORE!

YOU BITCH! YOU SLUT! YOU WHORE!

Ahhh! I love Dueling Pianos! I've never been the local bars kind of girl so having Dueling Piano introduced to me by my coworker when I first turned 21 was very exciting. It's a music show close to X-rated language with a bar and food. It's just so fun! Dueling Pianos is a place where there's two pianists who plays up front on stage. You can request them to play songs, it's encouraged. The more you tip, the faster they'll play your pick.

They serve bar food (nachos, fries, sandwiches, and wings) and pretty fruity cocktails. They now serve the Fish Bowls which features Bacardi. The melon flavor is my favorite. If you're coming to celebrate something (birthdays, anniversaries, bachelorette) please call ahead and make reservations so they can put up balloons and cider for you. It's especially fun for the people you're celebrating, because the whole place will call them a bitch, a slut, and a whore. :) You'll see what I mean when you go.

They have cover charge ($7). There is no refills on soda apparently, meh. But it's a really fun place! The music depends on the crowd of the night. If you have a younger crowd, they'll play top 40 music. If you have an older crowd, it's more country and old school. So if you really want your kind of music, bring LOTS of friends with the same taste in music as you.

And don't be checking your phone at Dueling Pianos, they'll single you out for it!
