The Brussels Sprouts are TO DIE FOR. The ramen was...okay.

I'm glad I went once, I but don't need to go back.

My initial impression after finishing my dinner was.. meh.

The ramen was ok. Kind of salty. Kani croquette was alright as well, nothing special.

The best thing we got was the Fried Brussel Sprouts (which we didn't even order). I think one of the waiters accidentally placed it on our table and when we told him about it, he just said we can have it since he already placed it in our table and can't take it back. Score!

Won't come back for meh food and expensive prices ($120 for 3 people).

My search for good ramen in Chicago continues..

I was soo looking forward to eating here.  I grew up on Japanese food and have been to Japan many times since my childhood.  One thing that Chicago is definitely lacking is good ramen shops.  

When I heard about this place I was pretty excited although a little disappointed by the prices.  I mean really?..$14 for a bowl of ramen?  Ramen in Japan is the equivalent to the Hamburger or Pizza in America.  It's a "fast food", not a fancy dish by any means;  thus should be priced accordingly.

But I guess in this instance, the demand for a ramen joint in the city outweighs supply.  That in addition to being located in a high rent, trendy area; they can and will charge $14 for a bowl of noodles.  So I give in to my cravings and am thinking to myself; at this price this better at least be spot on - maybe even better.

Big disappointment. I ordered the Tonkotsu ramen and it was way too salty!  I couldn't even drink the broth.  The saltiness overpowered what was supposed to be a smooth and silky pork broth.  Need I say more?  If you want to eat good ramen, go to Mitsuwa and eat at Santouka in the food court - it's the real deal.  You are mostly paying for ambiance at Slurping Turtle.
