Smokin' Buckeyes

This hookah place was clearly a restaurant at some point, with booth seating, a pool table, and a comfy leather sofa and loveseat parked in front of a huge flat panel TV, and I didn't have too many expectations for it, having frequented the normally "best" hookah bars in town. It's the closest one to my place, though, so I thought stopping by for my mid-week chill session would be a win-win.

It was. While the interior is nothing special, the hookah was surprisingly one of the best I've had in Columbus. The flavor I had, pumpkin spice, was nothing like other flavors in Columbus, and it provided both the "hit" and the flavor that is hard to come by in abundance anywhere in town. There was also as much smoke as there was flavor, one of the issues I tend to have at other places. The twice I've been here, the hookah has been spot-on.

The owner was accommodating as well. Even though it was scary movie night, she agreed not to show a scary movie since my time in grad school is stressful enough.

SInce I"m used to quiet, contemplative hookah places interrupted only by the din of foreign languages and banter, perhaps it's my subjective opinion that the ambience can do without the loud patter from E! on the TV. Given that it's geared for a pre-21 audience, most likely from University Village, I should get used to it.

If not for anything else, a Smokin Buckeyes hookah should be had for the flavor and hit. At 8.50 for a double, you can't miss.
